the spontaneity in his playing is increadible. im sold
every time I listen to this, which is a lot, I find something new and revelatory.
The intro and outro is amazing, I've heard a few guys do that kind of comping to accentuate speeches before but I mean come on! That was some next level stuff! Genius!
I’m a rock/pop drummer. This is something else. His technique and feel are mesmerising. I’ve always admired Richard spaven and jojo mayer for stuff like this. Fantastic
Walking the fine line between rhythmic mush and genius improvisation.
rhythmic mush? there's a time signature to this lol
it's in 11
and he's subdividing everything perfectly
All genius, Zach Jurkovich. Keep listening.
@@jasworld4671 I think he's just saying that because a lot of it isn't a consistent groove really.
That track was great! The playing was amazing and tasteful and the toms sounded fantastic.
that pretty much says it all!
this is a madness, such knowledge of rhythm
His phrasing is on another level oh my
When your jamming but tripping balls at the same time
absolutely mesmerizing.
This is huge. Like listening to early Bill Bruford for the first time.
I'm going to tape a snare drum to my snare drum.
hickoryhop Lol!
hickoryhop I literally laughed out loud at that
Do it, you won't. Treat yo self!
my goodness.... the fluidity of ethereal genius that he expresses is inexplicable
beautiful musician
Great Erick's performance, and a Zildjian support. Great!.
wow that bass drum tone
Hakim's + Chambers' DNA = Mutant Off Spring..... Fucking Genius
simply amazing
Great, as always.
That was fun to listen! Good work!
Master of the super-dry sounds. It takes precision to be able to entirely remove the cloak of resonance.
2:17 really interesting groove
That hi-hat combination is one of a kind.
The hihat underneath keeps the EFX from inverting. I've done this dozens of times.
I came here for Cat with hats interview with Steve Smith... He mentions Eric Harland and Mark Guiliana.
Wowowowow my new favourite Drummer!
Big up Eric.
lovely stuff!
Великий музыкант!
This music reminds me of Portal 2
yeah!!!
I'd try that brush thing on the snare!
Awesome
Eric - this is fucking great!!!
still love it!!
when we listen we hear
I want this track
I kept waiting for the melody to drop in and then it was over. \m/
I think that was the voice of Jiddu Krishnamurty in the beginning.
Yes. I think so, and some Alan Watts :)
I don't get it Zildjian... Kerope 16" doesn't exists... I'd love to have a hi hat made with a 16" efx + 16" kerope... but it's impossible.
Julien Beghain hey... get super good & get endorsed. They'll make ya anything
It might actually be a crash on top.
Is this the same sample as in Voyage 34 in the first part?
where can you get steel plates?
alan watts!
When did these steel plates come ?
or maybe that's simply shelf for putting stuff....like coffee
I guess zildjian will start selling them soon!
It sounds like Remo clear Emperors on the toms.
What ride cymbal?
can you give me this track ???
what in the ham just happened......
sound is not synched correctly
All hands. Harland's a beast but its all hands.
Patrick Wickett Jazz usually leads from the hands with time/groove in general, and his background is mainly that
J krisnamurti speaking...
First 2 minutes were difficult to listen to, but after that it got interesting
Difficult.
first
Everyone wishes they could be Chris Dave
Ian Muessig yeah they grew up together
Harland is so different to Chris Dave...
I hope this isn’t the future of drumming. And anticipating the typical fanboy sheeple bleating: this guy is a outstanding technical drummer, more skilled than I, more skilled than most...AND this concept of drumming is devoid of soul, an exhibition of technical prowess for the benefit of other musicians and gawkers who just want to see hands move fast, and completely inaccessible to your average listener. Art for artists is silly and arrogant. Art ought to be a service to elevate the common people. And it’s not this guys fault...unfortunately this is the trend drumming is undergoing these days
lmao what ??
Boring.
RoccoSoundTube What a boring comment
Yeah, yeah, yeah... Whatever, "funny" blower.
RoccoSoundTube Arnt you a happy little fella!2
Four more guys think like me: boring.
RoccoSoundTube Wow 4 more people think like you! Shesh, thats almost everybody in existence right? Good for you man!
That was poooo pooooo
This is so boring tho I could do this honestly
Volbeat101 No. No you can't lol
you are so innocent hahhaaah omg!!! do you even know what is music???
Haha good luck sounding as good with your Sabian B8’s mate.
CamBrownDrums dont lie to urself
Maybe a perfect subdividing machine... still dont like when they bring gospel chops, even into a modern jazz context. Complex? Sure. Hard to play? You bet. Beautiful? I don't think so.
