Thank you, thank you, thank you for the wonderful tutorial. I’ve been anxiously waiting for this post so that I could start on my book.... My mother passed away 4 yrs ago. She constantly wrote me notes and sent “just because” cards even though we lived 2 miles away. I am so happy that I can put them all in one place and have a “Mom” remembrance journal that I can always hold close to my heart. Thank you Liz, from the bottom of my heart! Big xoxo’s 💞.
Robin what wonderful memories and keepsakes you have of your mom 💕 I’m so happy you are inspired to make a book. 😊 Thank you so much for sharing this with me. Hugs 🤗
This is exactly what I was looking for!! My Dad passed away and my siblngs gave me an envelope full of cards he had saved from my childhood; some with my mom's handwriting. She passed away when I was 8 and these are the few memories I have of her. Now I can store them where I can cherish them. Thank you !!!❤❤
Oh my goodness, I am so sorry for your loss. :-( I love that you have found a way to keep those precious memories, you will love being able put one together! Thank you for sharing that with me. Hugs to you!
This tutorial is just perfect for my huge boxes of old cards. I'm in the process of downsizing my home (recently retired) and was almost going to throw away some of my treasured cards because I had no room for boxes. This book is a memory saver for me....thank you so much. It's much easier to store a couple of books than several shoe boxes FULL of cards. I also like the idea of including the envelopes for little notes and scraps of memories. Can't wait to get started.~ ((Hugs)) ~ Barb
Hi Barb. I am so happy the tutorial gave you some inspiration! So happy to know you have a new way to store those precious memories 😊 Thank you for your wonderful comment and for watching 😘
You can also use a composition note book and decorate the outside with design paper to your liking and do what you did inside. You are so smart. Absolutely brilliant.
Thank you SO much for sharing this Liz! i was afraid when i saw your share of the journal you made, it would be too complicated for me to even attempt making one but after seeing your tutorial-i KNOW i can do this and i will! i can think of many other ways to use this format, instead of cards, i want to use pretty pieces of scrapbook papers and make a gluebook/smashbook. or even just gluing envelopes in to tuck bits and pieces, could also be used as a storage/organization book with ephemera tucked in pockets....so many possibilities-this is a favorite for sure! i love using a book that is ready to go (after tearing out the pages) this is brilliant!!
I have been away forever. I come back and find an older video and it inspired me. I have been wanting something to do with my cards. I think this is brilliant. I will be trying this. Thank you! Hugs!!
I’m so excited to do this!!! I have so many sentimental cards from over the years that are stored in no particular order all over my house! And I’m sure I’ll have lots more to come...I’m hoping to slowly have lots of greeting card books I can put on a cute bookshelf in my home somewhere! Can’t wait to get started! Great video!
Love this idea! I have not seen it before!!! I will definitely be making this!! I have "every" greeting card that I have ever received throughout my life! I am 72 years old, so lots of cards! Thanks for the great idea!!!
Awsome idea Liz :) I will make one to keep mum and dad's sympathy cards together for my boys. I also might try this as a junk journal instead fo doing a binding! Love it :)
Oh Liz, I can't wait to try this! I have cards saved in boxes and drawers that I would love to take out and enjoy this way. Thank you! I must have missed the other video you referred to; I will go back to watch it.
I'm trying to find a good way to keep my greeting cards in a nice place; so I found your video and I like it. You got me different ideas to do it. I will find the right book to make it. Thank you.
What a great idea! Do you put the cards in the book, in a theme, like birthday or Christmas, of per year or person, or just randomly?? Can you cute a piece of the hinges off, so it matches the size of the card? Tip; you can put washitape on the hinges!
I like your book. I was wondering what i can do with my pretty card in stead of keeping them in a box. This is a good idea thank you for this tutorial. Thumbs ☝
Absolutely brilliant & exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thank you so much for this simple & easy way to use cards in a junk journal. I’ve subscribed as you explain things nicely. Just wondering about decorating the cards with ephemera .. do you think that would be ok? I am a total beginner here. 🌸😘
This is a perfect project right now for my Mother's Day Cards but I will have to figure out what book to buy on eBay or thrift books for it since we can't go out junk shopping. My biggest card is 6 x 9. Any ideas? Would a fairly new dictionary work. I don't know if they still have the thin tissue like paper in them.
I think any book would work if you glue enough hinges to be the 'binding' for your cards. With thin book pages I would double the thickness of the binding. Any hardcover book that is the right size for your biggest card should work. :-)
i really like this!! so, can you clarify what the shorter cut pages are used for if anything? you don't add cards to those pieces? are they just to remove bulk from the book? thanks
Liz, this is a great idea. Thank you for sharing it. One question. When you glue the card to the first page of the hinge and then say you glue another hinge to it for support, do you mean you glue the 4 pages of the hinge together? Or are you flying it to another 4 page hinge?

Nice idea en very nice tutorial video , thanks.. 🤗cant understand why there are 2 unlikes? 🙄
Thank you so much, I appreciate your comment 😊 I don’t know about the unlikes either. Wish that there was feedback instead. TFW 😊
How wide is your ruler? Do you only glue the back of the card?
Hi are you putting the card into the crease (pushing it in) or is it just on the hinges? I hope that makes sense.📕
Just in the hinges. 😊
Can I make this with used greeting cards or should they be new ?
You can make it with any type of card you would like. :-)
i really like this!! so, can you clarify what the shorter cut pages are used for if anything? you don't add cards to those pieces? are they just to remove bulk from the book? thanks
Thank you 😊 The shorter pieces are meant to remove bulk. 😁

Yes, glue the 4 pages of the hinge together. :-) Thanks so much for the wonderful comment. :-)
