In the Norwegian studio (tv 2) they called this game one of Magnus maybe top 10 games. The accuracy in his moves here was spot on almost all the way and even as you mentioned, the move that Sesse (Stockfish) recommended but Magnus even saw a better move there. Magnus is getting back to his best
It's incredible how many more attacks and defenses I can now see after having watched your videos for the past month or so. Especially when you go on slight tangents with other moves that could've been played and the lines that would've evolved around those moves. Such an amazing RUclips channel.
I will have to say that you are one of the best at commenting. There are a lot of commentators out there but for clarity, diction, and professionalism, you're at the top.
Carlsen looks so badass in that photo. I’d be nervous enough if I ever had the chance to play him, but if he stared at me like that I don’t think I would live through the opening 4 moves
It truly is. Seems like his entire game was pretty much perfect here. In a few years this will be seen as one of his best games to date. Quite a few great games to pick from though.. :)
I once traveled to Wijk aan Zee. Note: no one pronounces it right in English. It’s more like “Vi-Kahnzee” with the emphasis on “Kan”. I remember because I was trying to get a bus there and no one had any idea what I was talking about. But it’s a really beautiful place. There are suburbs with goats tied up and you can walk to the coast of the North Sea, where there are great sand dunes and water an icy dark blue, and everyone has white terriers they walk up and down the beach, and there are paragliders who jump from the dunes and glide around. It’s really cool. Oh and the chess tournament is the only reason I went or knew about it. Haha
Its funny. My main language is german. But when i play chess and think over the board, i hear a voice in my head that speaks english. And if i consider captures. I heare a ... knight captures on.. but the best is .. it works ^^ I am now playing activ for one year in a chessclub and i was able to defeat in a classical game a 1770 rated player and in a blitzgame twice a 1900 player. ;) keep up the good videos agadmator!
Hi Antonio, thanks very much for your videos and commentaries, would be nice to get some times when a theoretical position is reached, explains what books recommend to do
Thank you Agad for being so active with videos. It means a lot for chess enthusiasts. Here is my way to analyse chess games and Tata Steel Masters: ruclips.net/video/TtbjaHPWkY0/видео.html
Just watched the carlsen official vid where he plays 3 blinds games, ok not against I or GM but, it's stille impressive. I wonder if will loose his title one day or never omg! thank u for cool vid
Because you exchange a powerful knight for a weak one You do win a pawn but Carlsen had already sacrificed a pawn and all he cared about was getting his pieces in the attack and mating black. I, personally, like the move Carlsen played Ne3 more than Nxf6. It makes a lot of sense from a human standpoint as it vacates d5 for Rd5-h5 lift and the knight can return to d5 or go to f5 and the attack continues.
#suggestion Duda vs Kramnik where Polish master simply destroyed Karmnik that wanted to defeat him . I would very much enjoy watching you analising this nice game
At 8:13, what about Bxf6? Black cannot respond with gxf6 (instant mate on g8), and Nxf6 is followed by Nxf6, attacking the rook and blasting open the pawn defense around Black's king.
I bet Carlsen is laughing at his detractors who from the WCC who seemed to think Magnus had lost his mojo for thee classical fomat; he is truly worthy of his crown. Hope you're feeling better,I just watched the excellent Anand game!
This match proves why Carlsen is world champion. My only concern is, everytime Carlsen's opponents plays for a draw that's a shame there should be a counter attack at least. Losing without a fight is such a cowardness. A game plan is surely required. I would like to see somebody play like Tal to Carlsen. Sacrifice disturbs the Champ's mind and make him reconsider the game plan.
At 13:19 Bishop captures on h7 Oh no agad is also getting confused its rook Just a joke don't take seriously OK I only see agads chess channel it's my favorite Edit:everyone who sees this poor comment let's help agadmator to get 1m subs
Yes it is possible but you exchange a powerful knight for a weak one. You do win a pawn but Carlsen had already sacrificed a pawn and this game all he cared about was getting his pieces in the attack and mating black.
An amazing video once again. But may I kindly ask you to not reveal the winner beforehand through title or introduction. It kind of takes away half the fun. Thanks.
8:16 Is knight to e7 a bad move here? I see a lot of checkmating opportunities for white. Bishop can’t capture because check mate on g7. Rook can’t capture because checkmate on g8. If pawn to g6 then bishop takes with check and the knight can’t move.
Please replace the *Magnus Carlsen* photo in the video with the _thumbnail photo_ 🙏 *Magnus Carlsen* is staring at me, whenever I came to watch your videos 👺👺😱 Thumbnail photo looks good ; so, please replace ♥️
“Don’t be a pawn grabber” is a great phrase for your merch.
Breakfast is dish best served with a fresh Agad video. 🥣
Dinner on the other side of the world.
I am so early I have no openings prepared.
That's my argument, Flam. When I run out of opening book at move two, I just tell myself I am playing like Capablanca.
I was shocked
It may be true, but call it top 10 massacres of Magnus. It wasnt much of a contest. Top 10 games conjures up a pic of great battles.
2:28 and in this position, Carlsen played b4, the Evans-gambit
It's incredible how many more attacks and defenses I can now see after having watched your videos for the past month or so. Especially when you go on slight tangents with other moves that could've been played and the lines that would've evolved around those moves.

He sees through your soul.
Level 1 Crook (Rapport ) vs Level 100 Boss (Carlsen)
His name too...

Has it ever happen that you are playing a game of chess and you hear agadmator is commenting on it? Like "this is the critical part of the game"? lmao
"And it was in this position, when i left the game"
I have found myself thinking "And what do you do now?"
When opponent make a move ' so what the trick here?'
Whenever an opponent makes a suspicious move.
“Okay, so what’s the idea here?”
Whenever my opponent puts an undefended pawn on the way of one of my pieces, I'm always like " *Now .. is this a poisonous pawn ?* "

13:14 Rook shaped bishop spotted
Fist it was the knight that was shaped as a bishop, now is a rook, God knows what will follow
White gets 3 kings on board
Agad, uživanje je slušati tvoje sjajne šahovske sage i komentare, čak i kad imaš gripu. Veliki pozdrav iz Sarajeva 😊
Thank you for putting up a video so that i can watch while eating dinner after work. Cheers from Denmark and best of luck in the future Mr. Radic :)
Carlsen simply has a beautiful attacking game! This is a wonderful attack in every possible way.
It truly is. Seems like his entire game was pretty much perfect here. In a few years this will be seen as one of his best games to date. Quite a few great games to pick from though.. :)
As far as we can see....
Sorry...
As far as Wijk aan Zee this is only the second time they played a classical time control game.

Thanks very much for this, Antonio (and Medo). That looked a little like the old Magnus.

What is the problem with d6xe5 instead of Nf6-d7?
And why should you not be a pawn grabber?

What a beautiful game ! I've learned some tactics by watching this and I hope I'll be able to use'em against strong players.
That pic of Magnus on the sidebar is quite scary oof.
Magnificent game. Medo loves the Taimanov Variation of the Sicilian. Maybe a #suggestion Taimanov game?
13:14 Nice Bishop!
Love the carlsen games
@Agadmator. Your devoted passion and love for Magnus is so sweet. You are an excellent fan girl.

It's fascinating to see how interesting games develop when a top player faces a "regular" GM.
Rapport is not a regular GM dumbass

Who knew 2 years later, Rapport will crush the tournament in Norway Chess 2021
8:13 why not capture on f6 with he knight someone please explain?
I was actually surprised when I actually guessed the best move
In 8:14 , why can not you play Nxf6 ? Followed by Bxf6 if black Nxf6 ? Thank you.
My thought exactly. Seems like Stockish agrees with us. ;)
Because you exchange a powerful knight for a weak one

At 8:13, what about Bxf6? Black cannot respond with gxf6 (instant mate on g8), and Nxf6 is followed by Nxf6, attacking the rook and blasting open the pawn defense around Black's king.
8:17, why didnt Carlsen go for bishop take F6, m I missing something?
How can I become better at chess? I mean what sites or material can i check? Im like 700-800 elo player (ik am bad lol)
"You don't want to be a pawn grabber" snatches a pawn.

“Don’t be a pawn grabber” as he grabs a pawn.

At 5:00 pawn captures pawn on b5 is a good move no? Black can’t recapture coz its Knight is hanging
Lukero Gt black can recapture with a Knight
Magnus said after the game that he wasn't feeling well and is unhappy with the game and all. But at least he won, he said.

After 30-...Bf8 is possible 31-Cxf6 ????
Yes it is possible but you exchange a powerful knight for a weak one. You do win a pawn but Carlsen had already sacrificed a pawn and this game all he cared about was getting his pieces in the attack and mating black.

This was a great game
Name a more iconic duo 😎🐶
best game. great analysis! @agadmartor
I love the Taimanov.
8:16 Is knight to e7 a bad move here? I see a lot of checkmating opportunities for white.
Bishop can’t capture because check mate on g7.
Rook can’t capture because checkmate on g8.
If pawn to g6 then bishop takes with check and the knight can’t move.
Panda Panda no mate on g8 as the pawn is still on g7
Isn't that a mate at 8:17! Nxf6, Nxf6, Bxf6 and now if pawnXf6 then Qg8#

At 13:15 in the video the move is Rook captures H7 and not Bishop captures H7....
