That's the first mod I should've done when I had mine. Heel and toe was difficult since I have long legs. The things we do to fit in the cars that we love...
I had one in my last S2000. It not only gives you a much better field of vision in the car since it drops you below the center rear view mirror, but it also gives better lumbar support since it only drops the seat pan.
@@j.r.arnolli7494 The seat back dropped a little, but the gap between the pan and the seat is significant after the install and makes up the majority of the shift in height.
I am 6' 2" 165 lbs and I fit fine in my 100% stock 2003 S2000 whether the top is up or down. In fact I find the S2000 with the top up has more head room than my 69 Corvette with the T-tops on.
Yeah if you’re thinner you can get away with more height. I bet you’d still prefer the lowered seat. I’m 6’2” 225 and shorter torso but my big butt is a booster seat lol. When I’ve lost as much as 15-20lbs I could tell a difference in the car.
It's not super obvious until I look at where your shoulder is relative to the top of the door. Definitely looks like a worthwhile mod for taller folks!
Hey John.🙋 Nice OEM-looking product and a great way to make a taller person feel more at home in the S2000. The new cap cam is the ticket, too.👌 Looked like that minivan around 8:38 was about to ruin your day, but thank goodness they finished their text just in time. You cracked me up with the "it's like waiting for a bus" comment.😅 I guess that's the downside to driving faster than average cars for so long. If you think the S2000 is bad, you should try my '90 Mazda truck.😝 Haha. It's good for hauling off the trash, but that's about it. Have a great weekend, buddy.
FYI, I noticed this on their site: “NOTE: Passenger side only works with 2000-2005 US Spec S2000. The passenger side does NOT work with 06+. Driver side works for all model years.”
As a taller person myself, I feel like this mod is essential as it makes it easier to heel-toe without your legs whacking the wheel as much. Also, I feel like shop cars should showcase a car at the limit of what can be done to it. 500 whp?
Looking forward to this series. This vid helps a lot. I loved the s2000 and always wanted one and I always thought that I might be a little too tall for this car. I’m 5’11. Not that I have a truck and S2k won’t be a daily with this seat bracket I will be on a s2k hunt in the near future. Thanks for this video
Ahh ok, I’ve driven a couple of S2000 before. I feel good in it, but it’s when the top is down, that’s when I feel like my head is about the windshield, and thought maybe it would look weird. If I get a S2k I want to be able to drive with the top down.
I’m digging this stuff. Great project. Interested in how a reflash improves OEM performance. With values rising I hesitate going forced induction or too far over stock on a clean car.
Look forward to seeing how your S2000 will turn out. I know it will be awesome! If you're getting new wheels, I'd like to buy the OEM from you. By the way, Evasive is having a 15% off on Volks Racing, Advan and Gram Lights wheels until 11/19. Bronze would look amazing with red.
Great video LHT thank you for the useful information. It’s crazy to see thumbs down on your videos. I don’t get why people get notified you uploaded a new video and they make an effort to 👎🏼?!?! Why? One more time Great Video great content 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I think some people just give thumbs down to be different from the majority. I personally love all of these videos because it's teaching me to step outside my comfort zone and attempt/perform maintenance I never considered before.
May I ask where did you put the proximity sensor of the airbag srs system? I'm very interested in this rail but I am concerned that it is not as safe as honda s oem one. Thanks!
American saying: "I'm pretty tall." Every guy in The Netherlands (or better, western Europe): no, that's average height dude. Call us when you've grown above 7ft.😅

The things we do to fit in the cars that we love...
I like how the head rest became level with the roll bar. Looks better IMO.
hope for us tall guys and gals to get behind the wheel of an S2k. good product review.

Fokker - 1138 It’s made a huge difference. I’m excited to show all the little changes that improve the car.
Fokker - 1138 / 😳it dropshot the whole seat, at least, mine did🤔

S.P. Ltd. / Being 6' 3" and 235 lbs, I needed the space

6ft3 here was 180-200 lbs over ownership. got one asx a first car. over 6-7 years or so it actually gave me some posture issues.
That’s the first thing I did to the s2000. I love this mod.
Love the music on this one!
Haha. Same here. It's very catchy.👍
@@TheMick26 we all need upbeat positive 80s style beats in these depressing times❤️
Wow this is a great idea. I'm only 5'6 but love sitting low. This might be a mod next year on my list.
Same bro
I’m so excited for this build John! Can’t wait!!
Aaron Benson I’m looking forward to it too.
It's not super obvious until I look at where your shoulder is relative to the top of the door. Definitely looks like a worthwhile mod for taller folks!
It makes a huge difference when driving it. It’s definitely a worth while modification
Very clear to hear 👂🏾w/ the top down.....👍🏾

John,
Thank you for the how to video.
FYI, I noticed this on their site: “NOTE: Passenger side only works with 2000-2005 US Spec S2000. The passenger side does NOT work with 06+. Driver side works for all model years.”
uz a Oh. Thanks. I may modify it myself then.
Driver side US Spec / Europe means Left handed side right?
05+ it won’t work cause of srs system

At 5’ 11” you’ll be deep in the car. It’s more of a Sporty feel sitting low.

Nero Rogers You can see how much lower I sit in the car with the seat dropped. I feel so much better in it.
If you get the seat frame from 00-05 it will do the same thing drop it lower.
You can just the oem seat rails from 00-05 and they will do the same thing and it be cheaper also.
Can’t wait to see what’s to come
John
Thank you, you are raising the price of mine
That’s awesome!
I’m digging this stuff. Great project. Interested in how a reflash improves OEM performance. With values rising I hesitate going forced induction or too far over stock on a clean car.
Patrick O'Toole Thanks. We’re going to cover the Reflash next. Before and after and how to.

You should do an aftermarket seat comparisons and roll bars.
That’s not the direction I’m planning with this car.
Cool Corvette shirt!
Looks the same as my 2007 Honda.. with same rims.. No mods jet.. Hard to get turbo-mod here in sweden without a lot of paperwork.. :/
I have long torso short leg syndrome.
Wingspan is 6'
Inseam is 29"
😪
My friend had the same size frame. He used to call it ‘Ducks Disease’. Lol
Dude i almost measure the same. 5'11 29" inseam lmao
That’s really nice! But $372 just to drop the seat only 20mm.... ouch. 💸💸💸
I ordered mine from rhdjapan, I think I paid about $100 cheaper.
John Check out the wheels on the UK spec 2009 GT Edition 100...same wheels but darker graphite color for the special edition... Same as what I have.
Travice O There’s already plans for the wheel 😉
Great video LHT thank you for the useful information.

I think some people just give thumbs down to be different from the majority. I personally love all of these videos because it's teaching me to step outside my comfort zone and attempt/perform maintenance I never considered before.
You should show how much faster the car is w a 4.5 diff upgrade.....it might be too short for boost but so much better for NA
The Diff does make a huge difference. It’s not going to go with cuter mods on this build. Plus, the trade off is high rpms on the highway
I'm a small person but I'd still be interested in this because id have as much headroom as your average car lol
I hear ya. The S2000 is perfect for folks 5 ‘10” and less. Use tall guys need to make it work however we can. Lol.
僕も入れてるけど、前側のステイの下にワッシャを入れないとスライドがきつくなるよね。
How is the lumbar support? I heard the bump is higher which causes back pain for some.
Good question
May I ask where did you put the proximity sensor of the airbag srs system? I'm very interested in this rail but I am concerned that it is not as safe as honda s oem one. Thanks!
I'm 6-2 as well. Seems like it's a poor fit for me. I don't like submerged seating, so I don't think the seat frame mod will make the car good for me.
It makes a noticeable difference on room. It gets your knees away from the steering wheel. I would definitely recommend it.
I have the set of s2000 seats that I purchased from a wrecked car on my Integra. Does anyone know if they make these rails to fit an Integra?
Are you having problems seeing the stop light? I'm 6'2 also with the BYS and I can't see the stop light.
Gian Abadilla Unfortunately there’s no fix for that. The position of the windshield pillar in relation to the seating position.
Same height here and same issue. I’d have to be sitting on the floor to see stop lights. Lol.
Total b.s. a stock s2000 fit fine I am 6.4
Does the BYS rails make the air bag lights come on after installing?
Nope.
Am 6'5ft when the s2000 came out I went to the dealer lol I couldn't even get in the seat my knees wouldn't allow me to fit 🤣
What kind of boost? SOS Supercharger or Turbo?
Keep the videos comin long time viewer. That soft top isnt retracting properly
Michael Ngo The soft has a repair patch.
Can you slide it forward and backwards? Mine seems stuck
There’s a bolt head you Need to shave down. Then it will slide smooth.
@@LHTPerformance That explains that! I gotta pull it back out. Which bolt?
@@Vteclol You’ll notice which bolt is contacting.
Do they make these for the RSX?
I might get laughed at. I'm 5'8 and the seat is too high for me 😕
I’ve wanted to do this for a while and I think this just sold me on it but the kit is pricey if I remember correctly like $400+
I can tell you it transformed the car, it’s so much better. It’s made in Japan so you know it’s quality.
since you dont fit, in your s2000, do you fit in your integra?
Joaquin Fonseca With the frame, I fit the S2000 now.
🔥💪🔥💪🔥💪
Can you get these for any car?
Possibly. Search around with your model, I’m sure you can get something.
Supercharger or turbo? Hehehe
Nice fix for elongated owners... Now if they could made it wider for my boyish figure ;)
Lol. I can’t help you there.
As a murican, could you speak to us in murican units?
auyabbaby 25.4mm is 1 inch. 20mm = about 3/4”.
American saying: "I'm pretty tall." Every guy in The Netherlands (or better, western Europe): no, that's average height dude. Call us when you've grown above 7ft.😅
$372 sheesh. Ill keep bruising my knee lmao
It’s so worth it for the seating position and comfort
Does it fit the passenger side also?
Yeah it’s worth it. Just do it and don’t look back. Maybe save money somewhere else for a month. Lol.
wvjon75 It really does make a difference. I just drove the car this morning and it’s much better.
Most BackYard Special products are expensive.
