If you painted your army and your rival's, you get 20 victory points for having 2 fully painted armies, don't you?
I don’t know if it’s the case here but some bring their own armies. Beard, Katie and Fletcher definitely bring their own armies if I’m not completely wrong
@@MadMan-7978 Fletcher painted Spider's army.
To be fair, I’d allow it 😄🕷
Quite the paintjobs both there by fletcher
@@tabletoptactics could you all share a few tips on the paint schemes? These tau are how i want mine to look and they’re amazing. Thanks!
I think this was a story of target priority. The centurions along with the apothecary are nearly impossible to shift. They absorbed so much firepower whereas I think if they’d been completely ignored Spider would’ve had way fewer toys by the time Kauyon kicked in. I also think it’s super important to try and shoot at targets that give the kauyon boneses. Good learning game against a tough opponent! Fun to watch :)
those arent bad points, usually people go wrong with this when they try to kill units that are ment to soak up damage. because they are usually also dangerous when in melee. but just using your speed to stay away and focus on the points scoring units instead is usually the better strategy.
absolutely right. When I run my salamanders I like to take a librarian and apothecary along with my aggressors. Even with as poorly as marines are doing right now, this combo performs really well.
However, if he'd screened better and didn't wind up so vulnerable so early, he could've probably used his hammerheads to deal with them. They aren't ideal for infantry, but the ability to bypass the saving throws and dump mortal wounds into a unit is typically an effective answer for this kind of combo.
"The Kroot will be great for screening."
*crisis blob gets charged turn one*
Exactly wanted to say that as well. Fletcher made multiple errors on and before turn one. First was screening, than not using the velocity tracker rule on the stormsurge, Etc.
These Flesh Tearers are one of the best looking armies I've ever seen. One day I will have enough money to have my sons of malice CSM painted to look as good as them. Till then, always looking forward to more Flesh Tearers battle reports.
Faved purely on the strength of Jinx's editorial break at 19:37 .
That scheme fpr the Tearers is the best version of Blood Angels I've ever seen! I'd really love a Freeview video on how to paint them!
This needs more likes 👍
It's a strange day when T'au charge into Blood Angels.
Also, dear God Spider's rolls... It starts at 19:14 and just keeps going...
Fletcher’s paint is actually insane.
You know, I'm just going to say it. If Spider wasn't so damn nice, he'd be that guy at the FLGS that everybody hated.
Amazingly painted as always, it really adds to the immersion. The team always comes together for such great videos!
I love to see Lawrence and Flercher. It is always so nice to watch them play
They both understand their army - even the movement from the tau round 1 set him up for a hard turn 2 :)
Lawrence's rolls living up to expectations, those centurions were blessed
Seeing how well Spider plays Blood Angels, I’d love to see him take the Space Wolves for a ride. I’d be interested in his list and how he’d play. Honestly, I’d be interested to see how each of the staff would use each other’s armies - list & strategy. Could be a cool little series to change it up sometime.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard silence quite like 39:05
That intro, "the insidious flesh tearers" . Oh yeh, real sneeky those bloodthirsty psychopaths 😂
Fletcher is an amazing painter! The models were all so gorgeous.
Man just casually proclaims he's gonna donkey punch the Spider.
Love how those Tau are painted, especially the effect on the shields.
If there's a lesson to be learned from this game, that's gotta be: always put Target Lock on you Crisis, that shield gen won't save you anyway most of the time. Also the terrain was REALLYYY nasty for the Tau, the fact that the entire army could hide behind obscuring and still be in range for easy charges the turn after definitely influenced the outcome of the game
Eh, the middle ruins were not LOS blocking, just gave save buffs. Don’t think it was that nasty, Tau still had a lot of lines. Blood Angels are just able to do fly across the board, alpha charges are always possibilities.
@@JayzusKhrist They were tho, that's where the FT hid turn 2
@@andreacavagnini2675 he shot at the centurions in the ruins, he shot through the windows.
Just for reference Andrea, we are using the official GT terrain layouts that GW and the ITC use, so it is the intended ‘tournament field’ so to speak :)
@@tabletoptactics Yeah I guessed so, not faulting anyone here, just making an observation. It's also well known that GW layouts penalise stricly shooting armies more than others, Siegler has been pretty vocal about it in the past
Great Battle report! Both armies look amazing. I wish tau list would've be a bit more competitive. But we get what we have. Great Job!!!
Gorgeous models guys, I'm drooling over those Flesh Tearers. Great battle report and well played to both of you.
These two armies are gorgeous.
You know your product is good when you have people coming to rewatch it this much later.
Great showing for the angels. Well played, even if that turn 1 charge was lucky. Unfortunate game for the T'au. The battle reports on this channel are always a delight.
I have two words for the T'au players watching: Resonator Warheads.
Actually I have a few more: Just put your Kroot on a shelf or something 😟. They're about as good a screen as a sheet of paper. Their stratagems don't compare to the other ones available and they don't benefit from any of the Tau's cool abilities. Fire warriors are as solid a troop choice as can be reasonably asked for and their photon grenades stratagem is often better than repulsor impact field as it also gives the charging unit -1 to hit (the caveat being it doesn't work against vehicles and monsters).
I'm actually a little puzzled by the choice to run the Kauyon philosophy. Against BA, I would anticipate them being in my face right away. Keeping in mind you don't have to choose your philosophy until the turn order is decided, I can't see a reason to not take Mont'ka in this battle. It'd be a different story if he were stuck going first.
Seeing the game in this tactical way is perfect.
The two best painted armies I've ever seen
"I'm your employee" made me laugh out loud
Fletcher's enthusiasm is excellent
That first movement phase felt very ‘Raven Guardesque’
excellent vid with an enjoyment from both players that has cheered me up no end thanks guys👍
That was such a great report, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Big game this, one of Lawrence's games in hand against the only other tournament winner in the league. Could go either way
Such a great bat rep! So entertaining! Well done TT!
What a visual feast! Gorgeous models. Looking forward to seeing the Flesh Tearers chop up some sushi.
Great game, love league2.0. That was a brutal showing by Lawrence. Flesh Tearers still got some teeth!
Great Matched Play game here. And nice editing Jinx! :)
Love the way you've painted your Blood Angels. Have you done any painting tutorials of how you've painted these?
Want to see that dark red as dark purple. Love the paint job.
Seeing those Death Company marines drop the Crisis team turn 1 was a very liberating experience. I tried to do the same to a Tau player I came up against at a tournament, and his shield drones tanked all but one of the thunder hammer hits. 25 attacks translated to a single dead shield drone...
Man that's my level of luck there
@ 1:20:47:
"You're... you're... you're my friend."
"I'm your employee."
My sides! 🤣
36:26 liked the little Watcher in the Dark hidden in the ruin
I think the terrain was the MVP in this match. The landscape was stacked against the Tau from the get-go.
39:06 THE EMPEROR PROTECTS
oh how obnoxious can one man's dice be :D
Spider: Yes
This is a really good thing to watch, while had having a bad rough day at work.
Glad we could help!
Stormsurge has a built in Target Lock to ignore light cover!
Man, somebody tell Fletcher that you can't be both handsome AND amazing at painting. Dude's out there making the rest of us look bad. 😀
By The Emperor, thats a badass Flesh Tearer list
Both these armies look so nice.
Man, just goes to show how powerful the Spider is, man can't be stopped when he's going competitive.
Certainly not with those dice rolls. xD
Loving the tactical play!!!❤
that triple six was the stuff of legend. Like it happens once in a century.
With Lawrence it happens at least once or twice a GAME for him😂. He rolls obscenely well🤣
Accurate 🤣
such a one sided game i felt for Fletcher so much, great sportsmanship.
Great to see the spider back!
Spider's strategy: Just Roll Better
It's just funny to see
Around the 1:08 mark - Lawrence wouldn't have had cover saves for the crisis suits shooting as he took the initial saves on the 1 that was in cover that was killed...? Doesn't appear the rest were in cover but I may be wrong?
you know spider sold his soul, when he casually rolls a triple six.
imagine rolling so bad, a stormsurge only kills 2 marines in a whole shooting phase🤣
but whatsoever a great report as always and man...these paint jobs on both armies is soo good
Excellent battle report.
You said the Tau lost in deployment, do you think it's really before that in list building. Against any melee army that hides behind terrain in the mid field and scores they are going to find it rough. Sure they can kill Amy army they can see but how would they ever win such a match up ?
I always say you should build your list for the most difficult scenarios, so how do you think the Tau should do this ? Vespids and a crisis suit in deepstrike (can reroll to hit on the drop, reroll to wound as well with Enclaves). More screens to absorb the initial charge, eg. Kroot and hounds ? Sunshark to bb mortal wounds and get line of sight ? This all reduces the direct damage available in the easy matches where you can see the enemy but helps in the tough matches.
Are you sure that there weren’t Orks in those crisis suits? That rolling…😂😂😂 I love seeing the Tau get crushed. ❤
39:00 insane marine flex
Omg I can't believe we got to see fletchers face!!
Omg I have been waiting for the leauge, just give me more!!!!!🎉😂😢
Great fun as always. Thanks for a fun batrep. Just a shame Armour Of Contempt makes 9th so fail.
Coldstar also has a built in Target Lock to ignore light cover
Don’t forget your screens kids!
39:04 Laurence....that's NOT OK!
I always play mont'ka against aggressive armies, you need to be able to punch back hard early. Kauyon is good in more tactical cagey games.
D-does Donkey Punching means something different over in the UK? I'm very curious after Fletcher described his Commander was going to go around doing that to people.
Loved the game! Poor Fletchers Tau.. What model is Bael? Is he a captain with a jump pack? Keep up the good work lads.
He uses the Kayvaan Shrike model for the base of the conversion.
@@Wildcat425B I probably could of worded my question better :) what stats block does it use?
Afaik yes, he runs him as a Captain w/ jump pack and chapter master upgrade.
He gives him a storm shield for the 2+/4++ and always gives him a relic (usually it’s Severer, a FT exclusive chainsword that does MWs on wound rolls of 5+). He gave him a master crafted relic blade for this game.
What a fantastic game. Spider seems like a great strategist. Sounds crazy but do you think a Ynnari vs regular Craftworld could be in the running for a battle report please?
Glad you enjoyed it! That’s a tricky one for us to run as we don’t quite have the models to run both a decent Ynnari and a craftworld force I don’t think. Would have to have a look!
Yo team! I am working on my first 40k list and White Scars caught my interest and Ive watched all the vids available On Demand. Now I wish to formally request another White Scars vid! Oh, and are Aggressors something that you would recommend?
XOXO
That T1 charge was the most satisfying thing I’ve seen in a long time. The carnage. The destruction. The luck. Masterful
That Deathguard Meele in Round one?
DAMN!! You could have been more mercifull with throwing a nuke at the Tau!
*Chef's Kiss*
Awesome!
Gotta get those Kroot in a screen. Body block the charges.
i wanna know what color you used on those tau :o love the darker red
Wait, when did each hammerhead go down? I must have been looking away
How'd his units have a 1+ save?
I was under the impression the rules are designed in such a way that modifiers are capped and a 1 always fails.
Ouch, that fallback by Spider was a killer. Like he said, it's boring, but it's tactical. It's crazy how much those Flesh Tearers just mulch everything when they finally get in combat with other armies. How much does that Stormsurge cost? I'm not sure it's worth it, but what can the Tau put in it's place that gives that much firepower? Also, Farsight doesn't re-roll anything for himself? Lame.
This was a good match. It really showed advantage capitalizing on disadvantage and how it can play out.
Is the Farsight not core?
Kroot are super cool
1:16:39 Damage is high i assume. Damage . . . 12
Watched 30sek.
Already love it
¡Gran batalla! ¿Podrían hacer un informe de Mil Hijos aliados con Demonios de Tzeentch? Sería genial. Un saludo desde Colombia 🍻
At 14:27 where you marked you forlon fury, can you still conger line? each model has to be 2" from two other models!
That's for units of 6+ models
@@keebs208 Ah yes thank you :)
How do you get those really cool gradients! I see them all over both fletchers and spiders army how do you do! Dx
Why not 1 cp the number of shots for the big gun so you can reroll all three dice for the shots?
Me seeing the matchup before watching the video: "Oof, I think this will be one big stomp". Will update once I watched everything 😅
Edit: Well well well!
143 000 subscribers ON THE NOSE!
I expected a bloodbath, although I did not expect this bloodbath.
At about 1:06:50 how did the crisis suits move through the sanguinary guard whe falling back do they have fly?
@@gavt5816 ok thanks
Donkey punch!? I thought this was a family show!? 😂
whats the name of the set of ruins they are using? i imagine their from GW?
Goddamn I love the spider
For the Greater Good !
Was Farsight too far away or did he forget that Farsight buffs a core units fighting ability at the start of the fight phase in turn one?
39:05 - There is only 0.46% (1/216), of rolling 3 sixes. It should be illegal to be as lucky as the Spider.
Noticed a trend (and I say this with the UTMOST respect!), why is there always somewhere for the Spider to hide his alpha strikers, plural?!😄 Can't remember a game (hyperbolic of course) where his stuff doesn't get to hide and then charge, being 90%+ intact - even with Titanic units (Eldar)😆 I mean, 2 turns where an entire army can barely shoot at anything, even 10man units of Marines that just sit and drink tea in a building (and the few things that did die, Centurions, get brought back to life). Or is he just better at utilizing terrain than everyone else?
We are using the official GW terrain layout for GT missions, so that’s just what it is :) As for using the terrain, that is just something that I’ve learned with years of experience, so yes, I guess I know how to utilise it. Having said that, I’ve actually played plenty of games on the channel where I have been blasted off the board, so it doesn’t always work! 🤣👍
@@tabletoptactics Completly fair and thanks for answering :D Just seemed REALLY hard for the Tau player to have a chance, but hey, them's the brakes 😁
Either way, top-notch quality as always 🤜🤛
So pumped, let’s go!!
Hey, Jinx!
His ability to roll 6's is too good. Which deity is showing favor?
Why did Fletcher move his crisis suits within charge range of the Sang guard in his turn 2?
Although he should of attempted a screen he still had to move up. Spidee would of just stayed on objs and racked up points. If spider didn't get the charge off then fletcher could of been set up for a good turn 3. He really wasn't punished to much for that move still. That's my take on it though and could be wrong.
