That simple RLK IS GONNA FIT IN SO WELL WITH A LOT OF THE STUFF I PLAY. Also, I realized I forgot to turn off caps lock after the RLK way after I finished typing. Lol
Great Video, it's really great to see that you can do so much well sounding stuff with just these simple licks and experimentation. More of that please!
The third lick is actually a combination of the first and the second. Lick 1 : RLK Lick 2 : RLLK Lick 3 : KRLKRLL ➜ when you play it twice you get K.RLK.RLLK.RLK.RLLK Love it !
Always always great videos. Keep up the great job. Always helpful. Very informative. Anyone else want to learn the drums, Gabe is an amazing teacher. You can not go wrong. He is always there for you, in times of need. Make sure you get on the waiting list for the DBO Academy. You will not regret it. Hope to see you all there. 👍
All your licks was tasty. Especially when you did them up to speed. 🤗 My favourite licks are those I can never learn. It doesn't have to be long complicated stickings over the bar line. Even if I can do R,L,K, I lack all the creativity needed to make something out of it. I always love to hear creative licks with lots of layers, dynamics and subdivisions.
Cool vid as ever Gabe! I play these licks, but just seeing you finish on a left cymbal has broadened my understanding - I always finish on a right so will definitely start mixing it up. Thanks!
Editing on another level ! Love it ! Love the energy too ! I'm bac k on a drumkit with 5 years missing it ! Starting to follow you bro ! Keep this fire ! 🔥
@@DrumBeatsOnline thanks for the motivation! I'm taking your advice from a previous comment and going to order some Meinl symbols here soon. I'll let you know how it goes. Haha 😄
I love your control on the drums! I noticed that you sometimes begin your measure after the fill with your left hand on the crash. But the fill doesn't always end on the right hand. Is it easier for you that way when you for example play fast?
Most fills also don't end with a left hand on the drums, instead they end with right hand on the drums. So when your fills ends up with your right hand playing the last note in a fill and you need to crash, it is easier to use the left hand instead. Hope this helps, have a great one!
Hey man awesome video lesson! The only question I have is when you play the 16th note triplets around the kit around 3 minutes in... It says 140bpm on the screen but it's actually 100bpm?
I’ve been listening to the new sleep token song so much that when you said “Now let’s talk about”, the word chemistry immediately popped up in my mind.
I’m the same (left handed but play right), at first it felt weird to lead with my right, but after a while you just get used to it and it becomes your dominant hand behind a drum kit

Great stuff, long term subscriber here from the UK, but I think it's my first comment!
Heck yes David! Thanks for the love my friend!
@@DrumBeatsOnline thanks for the reply!
..my dominant hand is my left....but I play right hand dominant......ive tried leading off lefty, but fail....and leading off right seems alien to me.

I appreciate the level of skill, but it's over-egging the omelet for my tastes.
We need a gym channel, Gabe.
