- Just practicing on the box - you can't go wrong with Roger's stuff. Feel free to leave some constructive criticism - always appreciated. This is after about three weeks of practice (in general, not of this routine).
For those curious, I'm using a Yamaha DX100 with a Rocktron Banshee.
Just to note - my mouth was a bit dry by the time I decided to take the video :)

Maaan, this sound exactly like the original, you're good. BTW, that's the best part of the song, Roger just messin around with the talkbox.

Actually, from what I understand, Roger Troutman used the Electro Harmonix "Golden Throat" talk box first, then started doing some custom stuff himself. People tell me that you can't even get the HEIL to do the Roger thing, but I could be wrong.

Theres a speaker in a small box that drives the tone into your mouth and you mouth the words.

Hey talkbox mayhem got a question. Did you do talkbox on the fros-t album back in 96, with lumber jack. That stuff was dope.
so is it the keyboard, or the talk box that gets the sound or presets or is it skill, i dont no wat to get dunlop heil or rocktron, i liek rocktron because itl save money, dontneed amp or mic....so can i just have a nromal decent keyboard and itl sound good or i need somthing liket hat?????????
