The video is pre debut. It goes back to the EXO-PLANET and them being separated. They are finding each other in this video. The eclipse is happening and it's a very important part to the exo concept, its explained in the very beginning of Mama
In the Korean version it's just D.O and Baekhyun singing. In the Chinese version its Chen and Luhan.
There are 3 former members in EXO :
1. Luhan : One of the main vocals and dancers of EXO-M (left 2014 after Overdose)
2. Kris : Main rapper of EXO-M (left 2014 after Overdose)
3. Tao : Lead rapper and dancer of EXO-M (left 2015 after call me baby)
EXO-M members : Xiumin, Luhan, Kris, Lay, Chen, Tao
After they left EXO-M, all of the remained 9 members together were EXO
Kris left during Overdose -_- before their first tour started.

I was watching this and made me realize how much I miss the former members. Luhan was my favorite voice in EXO and I'm happy that he has his own successful career now even as a solo in China.

The song was just to get an introduction to EXO, so only Baekhyun & D.O. sang (in EXO-K vers.). And about the storyline. It‘s not like you can just let someone explain one MV by them, you need to know ALL MV‘s in order to be able to create theories about the WHOLE storyline yourself. Really complex.. What I can tell you is that the eclipse is a reoccuring symbol in EXO MV‘s , I think they gain their power from it and it connects them? In this MV they were looking for one another.
Chen isn‘t part of EXO-K. Once EXO was devided into two groups, but I think that‘s too much information, you can look it up yourself if you‘re genuinely curious about the whole background of EXO

So, yes, there were only two members doing vocals in each of the versions of the song - D.O and Baekhyun in the Korean version, and Chen and Luhan in the Chinese version. These mvs were actually released as a sort of teaser prior to their "actual" debut, which is why you didn't hear all the members. There were 12 members originally - 6 were EXO-K, 6 were EXO-M, and the original concept for the group was that they would release a Korean and Mandarin version of every song, with the EXO-K members (primarily) performing the Korean version and EXO-M (primarily) performing the Mandarin version, which is why earlier songs like this feature different members in the two versions - as they lost members though, the two versions started to have more overlap in the parts in their songs because the members that left were all from EXO-M. The one that you said you didn't recognize is Luhan - he was the second one to leave EXO, back in 2014. It's okay that you don't know him, don't feel too bad ! We know that you do care
If you haven't reacted to EXO's pre-debut teasers, that would also be a good thing to react to, whether it's on here or twitch or patreon or whatever, because there's a lot of content there - there were TWENTY THREE teasers (not including this mv) 😭 SM was straight up trying to kill us in 2012, that felt like the longest wait of my life. There are clips from some of the teasers / some of the sets from the teasers sprinkled into these mvs actually - like the clips starting around 13:03 when you were like "no it's not, that's new !"

In the Korean version it's only D.O and Baekhyun and in the Chinese version it's only Chen and Luhan. You should react to the former members Kris, Luhan, and Tao's music videos. THEY ARE SOOOOO GOOD!!!! And as an EXO-L you should support their solo career as well ^ ^
So EXO was split in 2: EXO-M and EXO-K. M stands for Mandarin and K stands for Korean.
EXO-K:
- Suho, D.O, Baekhyun, Kai, Chanyeol and Sehun
EXO-M:
- Lay, Luhan, Kris, Tao, Chen and Xiumin.
Once Kris and Luhan left, they just started promoting as EXO. Then Tao left and they again just kept it as EXO. I'm upset we didn't get more of the 3 Chinese members that left, but they weren't being treated well and it's understandable that they left.

Hi Ben! EXO debuted as two twin sub groups; each unit sang the same songs but in different languages. EXO M (Mandarin): Chen, Luhan (the other one singing here), Lay (dancing with red pants), Xiumin, Kris (spreading his arms while looking at the eclipse), Tao (martial artist, fight scenes). EXO K (Korean): Baekhyun, D.O., Suho, Kai, Sehun, Chanyeol. Kris, Luhan and Tao are Chinese, and left EXO in 2014-2015. They sued SM each at their own time for unequal treatment and other issues related to injuries and health problems. This song is pre debut, so all 12 members are present. All EXO MVs at the beginning followed these mechanics: depending on the language, you get the main featured six members (M or K), and the other six appear in the background only. That is the case for MAMA, History, Tell Me What is Love, Wolf, Overdose, Growl, up until Call Me Baby. Once Tao left, only three of the members from EXO M were left, and the only Chinese member still in the group was Lay; therefore, EXO kept recording Chinese versions of their songs, but those MVs feature EXO as one group, and the same people sing everything with minor changes so Lay can have more lines in the Chinese versions. This was technically a teaser for their debut and this video was meant to introduce EXO's vocals and what can their vocal line do. If you wanna see the dancers' teasers, you should definitely check out 'Time Control' with Kai and Luhan.
Also I think the storyline here is them looking for clues from their past(?) cause it seems that this MV leads up to what happens in MAMA when they finally meet up and assemble.

the pailot of the mv: so this was part of the pre-debut teasers, that's why we see the symbols of their ''super powers'' and chanyeol looking for them as if it belongs to an old lagendary alians which is exo's concept.. also we see an eesclip while evey memebr is at another location but they see it at the same time (remember the intro in mama mv?) which is a big big part of exo's concept. there were years when they used to upload special posts when there was an esclip somewhere in the world or do some evnet ...
also because it was part of the pre-debut teasers we see all the members in it, just to help us know them better wether it's by they vocals or dancing or visual or another ways

Oh this brought back so many memories. The short dance scenes in the exo-m version are from their pre-debut introductory teaser videos. I highly recommend you take the hour or so it takes to watch them all and lose yourself in the pre-debut glory. It is sad to me that newer fans missed out on the exo-k vs. exo-m era. Luhan(from the chinese version) has done a lot of solo work that is really good. He has such a soothing voice. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Most of these clips are from their pre-debut teasers. They had like a thousand of them (23 actually) that sort of introduced each member and their specialty. And by specialty I mean their positions because apparently talents were not enough so SM gave them superpowers as bonus.
After the superpowers were introduced, fans realized why Kai was in the majority of them because he can teleport. And answered the question of why Baekhyun was not in teaser #23 because his power was light and the background lighting of that video was ahmeeyyziingggg.
You should check it out though. My fave would be any teasers that has Angel-Into your world on it.

When EXO first Debuted, they were originally 12 members. They were formed into 2 units: EXOK and EXOM. EXOK was to represent Korea and EXOM for China or Mandrin. EXOK included Suho, D.O, Kai, Sehun, Chanyeol, and Baekhyun.
EXOM was Chen, Xiumin, Lay, Luhan (former), Tao(former), and Kris (Former).
They always released both Korean and and Chinese versions of songs, albums and MVs. Most songs was only with subunits but in Songs Growl, Wolf, and overdose they participated as a whole. But when Luhan, Tao and Kris left the group. They just became EXO. And honestly I think they're doing a lot better now than when they were in EXO. They're all really famous artists in China rn. And Kris was in an American Movie!
I highly recommend listening to their older songs like Growl, Wolf, Overdose, history, Mama. And also I recommend watching EXO Showtime. Its a really fun show and it can help you know the members more! All 12 of them! #OT12 FOREVER! WE ARE ONE!
