Great info! Keep making videos! I'm on windows 10 Avid MC 2020.10. It's great, but I have to stick to the most stable versions in the future. 8.4.4 isn't 'very old' it's a popular stable version.
I have 2022 version of MC on my macbook but I honestly prefer 2018 version on my PC. I kind of regret paying for a new licence as MC isn't cheap. The old version is loads better

All my Media Composer tutorials are off my iMac. Pretty standard out of the box iMac for back them. I'll be getting one of the M1 MacBook Pros this summer (waiting for Apple to build + ship at the moment). Again, not the top of the line by any means.
