I have been to Hobbiton, stood at the gate of bag end looking over the shire listening to the sounds of the shire... I can honestly say I have never had an experience like it... and the hobbits feast at the end was the icing on the cake...☺️☺️☺️
This song always brings a tear to my eye. It's not just the theme of the Shire, it's the theme of home. A peaceful place that we can retire to at the end of that day. It also reminds me that I need to go to my Irish Clan's area in Ireland. My Surname is "Coleman" and I'm told we're good Mustard makers...I don't want mustard. I want to sit on the front porch and drink some Norwegian mead whilst eating some venison...
As soon as we could ear the first notes, my 4 and 6 year old just stoped what they were doing and rushed to the computer. "This is the Shire mummy, this is from Hobbit! And my heart fills with pride of these guys. There is nothing better than having your children asking to watch all the films and wanting to know more about Tolkien! Promised i would take them to New Zeland so they can see the real Shire!
Listening to this makes me miss my childhood home and the simpler times of life of no worries. I am a full grown adult with a successful professional job (I worked my butt off to get to that). I love my life and I have friends and family who care about me and vice versa. But hearing this music really takes me back to my childhood home. I had a wonderful childhood. I was raised by a guardian living in government support but guardian made me see the reality of good and bad of living. Our neighborhood consisted of apartments. Low income families. And legions of children. There I befriended 2 kids that were my age. We grew up well into our 30s. Our adventures were just like frodo and sam. We always had a friend that was like Sam. And some friends - just like Pippin and merry who just get into the weirdest trouble. Seeing my childhood friends of the past, makes me revisit whenever I take the time to take a break from the present time and look back at my adventures. We all still have more adventures to come. When we all die, I do hope that our version of "heaven" is what we dream of it to be. Full of endless adventures.
My happy place is the Shire. When I need to relax I just watch the shire scenes from LOTR and the Hobbit. In fact, I think I could watch an entire movie based on life and the goings on in the Shire.
That would be a cool show. A lot of people would watch that. Actually there is a show called Escape to the Country (ETTC) where people in England go look at old houses out in the country. There's a lot of pretty scenery.
I always wanted to be an high elf or an woodland elf when I was an kid but now I lived long enough to know I'm pretty much would be an Hobbit, I love food and the peace and quiet.
I play this in the morning or when my day is finished on my big screen in my bedroom, drinking tea along. It is the most relaxing video I have found on RUclips so far. Thanks for making the water moving and the chimney smoking. Is it Bilbo or Gandalf humming in the song ?
Oh if I were a gazillionaire....I would build hobbiton for real. And then open it up as a retreat. People can come and rent a hobbit-hole for a small fee. Staff will be semi-permanently living there to keep up with the gardening, groundskeeping, animal care and managing the Green Dragon and the Mill. Great place for the elderly. *wakes up from dream*
@@TheAdamk9111 i'd rather dream. For if yiu were privy to my actual reality; you'd know why that will never happen. I don't come to this video for reality-I watch it to escape from it.
@@SeranaKnight we should all team up to build a real Hobbiton somewhere. More functional one than the mock-up in New Zealand, which I dream of visiting one day
Sometimes it's more healthy to have a pint and a pipe of good tobacco flakes amidst the stars and moon away from everyone then it is to be socially out and about. This always brings me back to Norway. Lush green rolling hills and stone built homes. Not the brick homes. Homes built with stones moved out of the ground and placed by hand. Mossy awkward stones. Chipped to fit with the blunt end of a hatchet or axe. Framing of oak chip carved and dovetailed and secured with clay mixed with pitch. Homes lit with not bulbs, but a simple fireplace and torches inside. None outside. A pleasant sign adorning the front gate that says "No Admittance (Except On Party Business)." A home where no race or color or gender exists but that one random person out for a walk on a brisk fresh evening greeting with a nod and puffing his pipe with a mug of home brew tilted in your direction.
most veterans feel that way...and I have wondered if Tolkien didn't feel that way after coming home from WWI...and used that scene in the book to say it...
People always say they gotta visit new zealand because of lotr yet middle earth was based off of England. The shire legit looks like many places in England and the UK
I'm an artist who enjoys these mixes and keeps them playing as I work in my studio. Just a question though...I keep hearing crickets. Are they yours or mine?
It'd be nice to die and wake up in Middle Earth and I'd travel to the shire and be having a good brew, a big feast and a pipe of old Toby (to ease the nerves and relax). If heaven was the shire.
Trust me, it’s annoying for me as well. I don’t place any ads on my videos but since I use copyrighted music, RUclips automatically puts them there and I can’t do a thing about it. Wish there was something I could do!
I come to these videos just for the comments, so pure and full of life
It usually depends on the video. But that said...

Tolkiens meaning of shire is " home".

You’re welcome! Glad you’ve enjoyed it. The humming you hear is Gandalf humming the tune, “The Road Goes Ever On.”
