This Sherlock does not have the aloof superiority of Basil Rathbone or Jeremy Brett. He smiles, he jokes, after his own fashion.. There are no signs of Holmes demons. Rathbone was all seriousness, and Jeremy Brett had a purr like a leopard debating about to pounce or not. I think Alan Rickman would have made a magnificent Holmes of the more serious (with a glimpse of inner demons)
