Great reaction to one of my favorites. Wishing Wells is a good one if you want to really feel something. Crushed is also really good. Both are Parkway Drive songs.
OK BIG Parkway Drive fan here...you said that you love that rock bands get into it with the fans and that in itself is so true!!! BUT if you watch their documentary from their horizons album ( if someone is reading this comment and hasn't seen it then check it out) it shows the band and what they went through trying to make their dreams come true....and they obviously made it!!!! These guys are just like you and me living their best life!! Also Prey is a good song from them on a newer album, wild eyes is another good one, vice grip another good one...and if we want to go old school Carrion or Horizons those are all of my favorite songs from them and would love to see what you think of any of those songs!!
While they're newer albums don't disappoint, I've been following Parkway for over a decade now. Because you enjoy music with messages I would HIGHLY recommend Dark Days, Wild Eyes, or I Hope You Rot for the message they get out while absolutely killing it musically 🤘
I’d risk it all just to mosh to live music again. I need my rock therapy in large crowds with everyone screaming at the top of their lungs and bouncing off each other’s energy. I miss concerts so much. 🤘
Met these guys in ‘07 some of the nicest guys ever!! Put on one of the greatest shows I’ve ever been to and they did it all in board shorts and flip flops haha!! PWD 4 life!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Metalheads are genuinely the nicest people. I was at a Parkway Drive show and accidentally got kicked in the head by a crowd surfer and was bleeding. Everyone around me made sure I was okay and handed me things to help. Was one of the best shows I'd ever been at.
I've seen them a bunch and they are always smiling before and after shows. They are just genuinely nice people, I look forward to things opening back up for shows. Also it is so much safer in the pit than being near it. People have your back if you're in there with them. You should look at some of their shows in Australia because you are right they pull huge crowds headlining.
When people say it’s just sound they don’t understand and can’t hear what they are saying and all the awesome instruments playing together 😍just amazing I love parkway drive
Yes dude... They were headlining at Wacken. They are one of the biggest metalcore bands. And no, mosh pits aren't violent in any way. The people are friendly and help each other in a mosh pit. As a photographer, you must watch dark days by them. It's such an eye opener. (lyrically and visually)
Yeah when it comes to metal etc.. As someone who was heavily in the scene growing up, it's not about money or fame (im sure they appreciate that though lol) but its always been about sending your bands message, and just letting loose as a human being and trying to pass that on to people.
Got chills watching this I cant wait to go to a concert again. Parkway is one of the best live bands I have ever seen. They always look like they are having as much fun as the crowd no matter how long they have been on the road. Don't fear the pit it is the most violent, chaotic, friendly place you could be if you fall or get hurt they will stop and help you immediately.
I don’t know how many times I’ve fallen at a metal show and multiple people grabbed me pulled me up made sure I was okay and then immediately pushed me back into the pit.
As soon as you're up and safe, you're back in. I once got my eyebrow split open by a stray elbow. People tried getting me out but I fought my way back in. A little blood won't stop me enjoying the pit. Had to get stitches after though...
I've seen Parkway about 5 times now and every single show has been incredible! Amazing band and amazingly nice dudes. One of the best live metal acts in the business 🔥
Parkway Drive are one of the best ever bands to come out of the Land Down Under Australia! Over the years they have only gotten bigger & better. Love the content also 😎👌🤟
Parkway drive are an Aussie band from Byron bay in NSW in 2019 they headlined waken festival and it was well deserved.. you should react to “wild eyes” from that show and see how big that crowd is
So on the topic of mosh pits. Yes it looks violent, yes you will collide with people, be shoved, potentially hit, kicked, or otherwise take an unintended hit. But should you fall in the pit. 99.99% of the time someone will be right there to catch you, pick you up or stand guard while you're getting on your feet. People generally do their best to watch out for each other in the pit. And anyone not helping to take care of everyone usually gets forced out very quickly.
The mosh pits can be violent. But not an angry violent, they're incredibly fun to be in the middle of. A lot of energy from people who are all there for the same reason. So you automatically have something in common with the entire crowd. Important to note that there are unwritten rules in a pit. The first and most important is: If someone goes down you pick them up immediately. Most of the time you've not even hit the floor before there's 20 hands picking you back up.
I remember the first time i saw these guys live back in 2005. They played at my home town and ticket prices were $5 at the door.. but i tell you what, they were just as good back then as they are now! 🤘
Great reaction,, and don't fear a moshpit, even if you fall within a second someone is bring you back to your feet! As allready said wishing wells is heavy and also crushed is super cool. But if you like the festival vibes, watch "the woid live at Wacken 2019" or "Wild eyes Wacken 2019" - PWD were the final headliners on the closing day of the Wacken open air (approx. 80.000) people, and they rocked the hell out of north germany...
I first heard them when Killing With A Smile came out. I knew back in 2005 that they were going to be huge. I bought the Australian version of the album, because it didn't cut out the sound clips they had in the recordings like the American version did. Then Horizons came out and their popularity exploded.
Should check out their live performance wild eyes at wicken 2019 just before covid hit 75k people and the crowd interaction and the humbleness on all of the band's faces during the song is crazy
Metal bands, mostly, can't rely on radio play and big publicized recording deals for wealth and success. Metal grows in the small gigs, support acts with other bands in the community, grafting out a fan base by word of mouth and loyal following. Then eventually, like Parkway Drive you suddenly find the crowds move from dozens, to hundreds, to thousands and maybe, in the rare cases to tens of thousands. But these are the fans, they come out for the live show, they come out to connect with the energy of the music and the band feeds off that and then returns it in a feedback loop which increases the energy and sense of connection, in the crowd, on the stage. Nearly every metal band really does take time to connect with their fans. As to the concerts and mosh pits, yeah I'd love them back, and they are really, generally super safe, because folks look out for each other.
Yess! I used to love parkway drive in high school and after for a while. Havent listened to them in a while, but man do i miss the metal shows. I was a mosh pit kid hardcore. Hardcore dancing pits were always 100x better than a push pit.
I wonder if the difference is in how the bands are formed and gain their following. In the Pop world a lot of the groups or acts are artificially created for instant fame by producers. In this rock/metal world it usually starts out as a few mates performing at their local pub/bar who then get noticed and gradually get to perform at larger venues and so they are used to the fan interactions as the fans are critical to them being able to continue performing, and usually what you see is what you get.
One of my favorite metal bands!! Love your reactions man! Can’t believe I missed this one! Btw I met all of these lads, you are spot on! They very nice guys. They stay after their set and talk to a few people that hung around. I got autographs from all of them, no pictures because it was early in the smartphone era! But check out As I Lay Dying! Any of their music. Similar style
It's not specifically rock bands being friendly to their supporters, but I would lean more on the fact they are all Australians, and Aussies are chill. :)
From my experience, even though pits seem violent and ignorant, the surrounding people and the people involved are very aware and courteous to others. If someone goes down, they're left alone by the people in the pit and the people forming the circle help the person up. It's well executed etiquette at shows like this.
Parkway drive are the greatest band live other then slipknot, ( my opinion) Had the pleasure of meeting them once in 2014 and they were the coolest dudes EVER. Love PWD🤘🏻🤘🏻

I talked with a few that thought this was a aggressive/hostile song, but then i told them to pay close attention to the full lyrics and not just the chorus. A bottom feeder is a person that only provides you with toxicity and negativity. And you are pretty spot on regarding Parkway Drive, they are very down to earth, lovely Australian guys that are very interactive with theyr followers. And i learned to discover this early in my life, that the bands that almost scared me the most up on stage, were the ones that was the most lovable, genuine, interactive. Always so strange how pop,RnB,Rap,HipHop culture so quickly turns bigheaded towards the ones that supports them, and other people in general. I call them Australias version of Linkin Park, although they only have 1 vocalist. One of theyr most motivational songs are called Vice Grip.

Came to suggest same one! PWD is amazing all around but I think Wishing Wells is one of the better to get feel for the band!

It's so fucking intense.
Love that slapping sound that the double bass has.
