Lots of things I didn't know about yet, but I'm happy to hear this. I always hated this bot cause for me it stood for "if you write a lot in the server, you're gonna level up. everyone loves a good level up, so start speaking even if you don't want to" and that seemed so ugly to me that for a long time it was the only 'thing' I added to my blocked people list on discord. respectfully what are you doing in a discord server if you aren't gonna talk. i've never understood this unless it's like one of those servers that you just join to get more nitro emoji. it's a big group chat you're there to talk
@@ilexdiapason Its not "not talking" its about "communicating in moderation" like writing only when you have something to say. I dont want to talk just to release words. There are those servers where you join for information on games or their development for example, and leave messages in the sense of feedback or asking a question. Forcing people in a place like this to talk more than what is needed feels counter-productive at times. And I dont care about any nitro feature cause I dont have nitro. :D

Hey NTTS. Would you mind telling me why I haven't seen carl in your recommendations much. I use it almost always in my servers to replace paid mee6 functions so I wanna know if something happened for you not to recommend it or if it is just outclassed.
MEE6 is honestly a significant part of the reason I developed the philosophy that, if a service is _"good if you pay for it/buy premium!"_ , it's not good... 😹
Man, I remember when the bot was good, then the second they made Level Roles into a premium only thing i dropped the bot instantly and replaced it with others/manual work. I've just watched the bot get worse and worse over time, pretty lame tbh.
as a software engineer, specialized in backend. I can confirm, i dont use any discord bot i haven't coded myself in python, nodejs or c#. And just for the meme, rewrite it in rust.
The mod function isn't locked. Only 2 of the mod options are. They are Automod External Links, Automod Server Invites, and Message Invites. That's why you were able to access the moderator page with the URL.
True. Raid Shadow Legends is a bit too eager to provide sponsorships to almost any RUclipsr, whether their channel is kinda niche or fairly well known.
Is there a bot that can replace the customizable and server-local Achievement module of MEE6? That's the only MEE6 feature that I use and can't find a bot to replace it with, and I have quite a few achievements made in that module that I would like to get out of that damned bot.
I remember when I used pee6 on a server, when the nft scam and the AI came out we just started to hate it but since it was an artist server and rumors of mee6 actually stealing art of people to run their AI and NFT scam we just kicked him out inmediatelly lol
I didn't really know much about MEE6, mostly just used it to share my RUclips vids to my Server, but the moment I whiffed them doing the NFT scam I dropped it like bad habit and switched to a different bot.
I once took a cybersecurity class in hs, and the "adding /moderator line to the end of the url" trick was literally taught to us on the 2nd week. actual amateurs, this is scary considering they are accepting YOUR money

@No Text To Speech, I want to express my sincere gratitude for the invaluable Discord videos you create, particularly those focused on enhancing our safety. A while back, I utilized your tutorial on creating a Discord server, and it was immensely helpful. However, I find the onboarding system a bit challenging to grasp, despite watching your explanation. I was wondering if you could consider producing an updated version of the "How to Create a Discord Server with an Onboarding System" video. Your expertise in simplifying complex concepts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your dedication to the community!
Love the timing on this! I recently actually banned MEE6 from all personal servers due to the intense P2W it feels like the bot is starting to implement, and I have a decent handful of buddies that don't seem to get the big whoop. Glad to hear I'm not just going insane
I actually found out that the grandfather-ing of premium services only works for that specific server you had used all the now premium features for on MEE6. If you were to create a new server on NTTS you would run into the exact same issues as new discord accounts. It’s great 👍🏽
The Irony is I've blocked this bot back in 2016 due to how annoying it was even in its prime day. Yet every discord I joined prevented me from joining them just because I couldn't see it's messages
I hate Mee6 because I once had to type in "Reddit", and Mee6 deleted my message, pinged me, and said "Major Tom, language!" Mee6's been my enemy ever since
Imagine how great brands would be if they sticked to what they're great at, instead of the idiotic "endless grow and expansion" idea that every higher up and share holder has
We use MEE6 in a community owned by a large company, and they bought lifetime a long time ago. It's been pretty good as long as we used it, but we've started to transition towards other bots like Sapphire and Atlas. We still use it for some things, because hey, free is free.
When I used to use discord before deleting it for some reason, I was new and didn't know what MEE6 was. It told me not to use to many emojis in the server I was in, and I thought it was weird. So I insulted mee6. I still think it was funny. I never knew that insult was worth it, since MEE6 is uhh.. Not-so-great anymore. I still think deleting discord was worth it too, since it's uh... Terrible, a bit.
As someone that's been using discord since 2016, the only thing i had ever seen of MEE6 was the ban messages i'd receive shortly after joining new servers lol

You might argue my friend's are at fault but they didn't tinker with it much when it was added, it by defaults policies the place on its own standards which is full of shit
My friend and me are currently working on a Multi purpose bot with all known bot functions combined in one. Our goal is to make a bot which is completely free and easy to use (only via dashboard). The catch is just that we will put ads on the Website so that we can also earn some money to pay the server costs, team costs etc. How do you find this idea? Or should we also do a paywall for like 3.99 for very very difficult to code features?
Mee6 also has a problem of having a way to make nukers adjust permissions without them showing up in audit logs. Which I did before and nuked a 44k member server three times in one week.

What host are you using to be free?
@@erox7740 diva hosting, it's the best free host for bots, and it just got resetted and switched to faster servers so you get the best performance
It was reset so it's some features are in testing but you can still use it

4:00 anyone who knows anything about online marketing would know sending marketing emails without *explicit opt-in consent* is super illegal in most countries, including the U.S. It's shocking their email provider didn't kick them out then and there
@@firelordkushroll That's what I'd have guessed. Although in that case they'd be put on pretty much every spam filter before you could say "non fungible token"
This is like a circle they're stuck in since the NTF lost
They're losing a lot of money, so they need to make more by adding free features to premium, but that makes people angry making them to lose more money and so on.
They need a different approach to overcome this
This channel has the most aggressively sarcastic sign-off I've ever heard.
I like seeing the view count go up by hundreds per minute, its really nice
Lots of things I didn't know about yet, but I'm happy to hear this. I always hated this bot cause for me it stood for "if you write a lot in the server, you're gonna level up. everyone loves a good level up, so start speaking even if you don't want to" and that seemed so ugly to me that for a long time it was the only 'thing' I added to my blocked people list on discord. So I'm wishing for it's downfall. Never liked it, even though apparently it does way more than just that. But oh well, I'm a simple person.
respectfully what are you doing in a discord server if you aren't gonna talk. i've never understood this unless it's like one of those servers that you just join to get more nitro emoji. it's a big group chat you're there to talk
@@ilexdiapason Its not "not talking" its about "communicating in moderation" like writing only when you have something to say. I dont want to talk just to release words. I dont want to say "hi all" new message "wave_emoji" new message "xd" just to farm bot-points for an unnecessary point system.
There are those servers where you join for information on games or their development for example, and leave messages in the sense of feedback or asking a question. Forcing people in a place like this to talk more than what is needed feels counter-productive at times.
And I dont care about any nitro feature cause I dont have nitro. :D
7:48 does that mean you can do the same on the other pages?????
this is really just funny how they LITERALLY forgot to add a check on their web server while being busy with their random crap
I hope MEE6 doesn't get removed, our server has a tradition of bullying the shit out of it and I don't want that going anywhere.
0:33 Hey, that theme looks cool, what's its name?
This is how discord officially looked back in 2016
@@kocurro14 I know, I had an account back then. I just like that theme more than the one discord has now.
I remember back in 2017 when I first made my discord account, new to the platform I was not too familiar with getting around it. A server I joined had this bot and it was annoying with the pings and dms, the notifications were so annoying so I blocked it. mee6 was the first thing I ever blocked on discord and I never unblocked it, it's the only bot I have blocked too.
ong I blocked that bot too
Got a lot of stuff progressively locked behind paywalls, now even stuff I used to set it up for on old servers is locked and can't be edited further (such as welcome messages). Once I need to edit that, I'm going to replace it with another bot
Automation - Flantic
Welcome / goodbye - Mimu
Music - Earth
Recording - Pawa
Moderation - Carl/Prismo [btw prismo got no prefix]
Ticket - Ticket tool
Reaction role - Carl
Invite tracking - Falcon/Invite tracker

or dyno

Polaris is a great leveling bot, very customizable and nice.
6:25 Okay...why does it spell out "CUCK" on the left side?
AtGames Should Buy MEE6
I started developing a bot to replace mee6 on my buddys server, down to the member role buttons. Actually learned a fair bit doing it
I was so ready for the Raid ad to get dropped right there haha.
True. Raid Shadow Legends is a bit too eager to provide sponsorships to almost any RUclipsr, whether their channel is kinda niche or fairly well known.
7:10 I would appreciate if you could not use a discord sound effect for a bleep, I actually thought I had a notification.
All of this nonsense they pulled but their biggest crime is still being an unfunny Rick and Morty reference
Sapphire has hit the golden ticket, an ntts mention 🎉
wtf
I once took a cybersecurity class in hs, and the "adding /moderator line to the end of the url" trick was literally taught to us on the 2nd week. actual amateurs, this is scary considering they are accepting YOUR money
man i remember when mee6 was an honest, good discord bot 😔 (i'm lying, i've never used mee6)
@VaultCord bro frrrr like how many nitro features do they NEED?!
@@thatspookagain4030Need me a nitro feature that wipes my ass
I'm actually STUNNED at how stupid the devs of Mee6 are to have implemented a zero security backdoor like that.
Ah... The MEE6 drama. Love it.
i used to love using mee6 back in the day, just made a new discord server recently and saw literally 80% of mee6's content is locked behind a paywall, literally only the level/welcome feature is all you can use now. ill be using a different bot.
Stop grazing
Love the timing on this! I recently actually banned MEE6 from all personal servers due to the intense P2W it feels like the bot is starting to implement, and I have a decent handful of buddies that don't seem to get the big whoop. Glad to hear I'm not just going insane
5:32 I mean, why would discord do anything?
The second they made reward roles pay to win I knew it was the end. The fact now they put levels being a wall now is just unforgivable.
7:55 lol is this what you talked about about???
The best option for discord bots is taking an open source one and hosting it on our own server
3:53 This is my mee6 sigma alpha male elite pass 😎😎
Aktually alpha in the greeck numeral sysktem means 1 so aktually it means number 1 eletike pass - 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
does anyone know the youtube alert link version of 7:46 ?
Seeing Dyno coming on top again because MIID6 is destroying its own reputation is like watching an old hero return
I remember in old discord both were on the same level, seems dyno took no Ls
I actually found out that the grandfather-ing of premium services only works for that specific server you had used all the now premium features for on MEE6. If you were to create a new server on NTTS you would run into the exact same issues as new discord accounts. It’s great 👍🏽
"Sucks to suck go fys" 💀
@@VaultCord and?
The Irony is I've blocked this bot back in 2016 due to how annoying it was even in its prime day.
Yet every discord I joined prevented me from joining them just because I couldn't see it's messages
I thought that you were joking at first when you gave the trick about bypassing pro features. How can a website not secure an endpoint at all. 🤦
I hate Mee6 because I once had to type in "Reddit", and Mee6 deleted my message, pinged me, and said "Major Tom, language!"
Mee6's been my enemy ever since
Imagine how great brands would be if they sticked to what they're great at, instead of the idiotic "endless grow and expansion" idea that every higher up and share holder has
Turns out that my irritation towards the MEE6 bot from the beginning was justifiable in the end
We use MEE6 in a community owned by a large company, and they bought lifetime a long time ago. It's been pretty good as long as we used it, but we've started to transition towards other bots like Sapphire and Atlas. We still use it for some things, because hey, free is free.

This used to be my favorite bot, it's sad to see it being run into the ground.
I'm glad to have stopped using Discord before that.. I'll always remember how much fun I had spending full on days tweaking all my little bots just to have my server inevitably nuked. ❤
I always hated mee6 since its literally just a censorship bot, I've left servers just because of the auto-warnings
I remember back in 2018 when I insisted we didn't use MEE6. I never really had much of a reason, but now it feels validated

Lol, all those ‘premium’ features used to be free and were actually why we used it in my friends server. The music quizzes were so much fun. Shame me6 got so greedy
I remember one time beating this one hard level and sending a screenshot in my friend's server and going "LET'S F**KING GOOOOOO" to which it deleted my message and dmed me"You are USING too MANY CAPS in YOUR MESSAGE" and it was that day where I despised every atom of it. I changed its name on every server to TRASH6 and blocked it. while spamming my caps messages in the form of screenshots while giving it a middle finger.

This is so real, I refuse to create a serer with nee6
