    Excellent review, just the right amount of detail along with some pro's and con's. Thorough and informative and straight to the point.

    Picked up a 2013 A3 TDI recently and love it. With a stage 2 tune I get 45-47 mph on the hwy. No noticeable turbo lag either.

    Thanks for the review. I didn't really think about the fact that this car shares a lot of the same features as the Jetta. The thing I really like is the hatchback design. I like the hatchback design better than the GTI/Golf.

    • @prc7148
      @prc7148 Год назад

      It doesnt share anything he is an idiot. Audi shares parts from vw group in general but nothing from jetta specificly. I dont know if he knows what jetta looks like from inside or outside or he is simply retarded.

      Personally i like the outside look of the golf more but there aren't many GTIs near me and the interior in the a3 is way better than the golf

      Shares the same features as a golf, not a Jetta. It’s literally a luxury mk5

    Great video! I see one of these every day by the pizza place where I live. I was always curious about this car. It looks like a mixture of a really dressed up Golf and a Golf Altrack, which is not a bad thing.

    Good video. Considering a 2013 quattro for my daughter. Your video really helped with the decision. Thank you sir. 🙏

    Hey Mike, did any of the Quattro versions come with a 6speed M transmission? Currently looking for one but I feel they’re all FWD…

  • @Trouttaranaki
    @Trouttaranaki 4 года назад +3

    Hi Mike what are your thoughts on the A3 3.2 V6 engine? Apart from the obvious power difference, do you think its a more reliable power train?

    • @DrivenCompanion
      @DrivenCompanion  4 года назад +3

      Given that turbos will fail eventually you may be better of reliablity wise with the 3.2 but overall in terms of value, fuel economy and performance the 2.0T is the engine I'd go with.

    How would you say the A3 is in terms of reliability, specifically one of the AWD models?

    • @DrivenCompanion
      @DrivenCompanion  3 года назад

      I always say Audi's are reliable but they are expensive to fix when something goes wrong. I'd say the same is true of the A3.

      watch out for the 1.4 and 1.8 tfsi models. Expecially the 1.8 tfsi has a lot of problems with oil usage, because of faulty piston rings. Motors with a timing chain often have problems with it and need a replacement every ~100k miles, but you will it hear ratteling when starting if the chain is faulty.

    What do you think about an Audi A3 2013 diesel edition

    • @DrivenCompanion
      @DrivenCompanion  4 года назад

      I think they are awesome. Great gas mileage and tons of power. Only downside is that the diesels arent offered with Quattro AWD

    • @giotto4321
      @giotto4321 2 года назад

      @@DrivenCompanion Audi definitely do make an A3 diesel Quattro but perhaps they just aren't available in the US. As ever, the DPF problems are one of the main things to watch out for with the diesels.

    Honestly im juggling. I want an Audi, Alfa or Beamer. VW being the last choice for the used price points.
    I just want something I can have tons of fun in and tune. As I wont be driving it often.
    Ive even looked at Mustangs and Challengers and Camaros. Unfortunately Ive had my fair share of those and im no longer interested.
    My last choice would be a Volvo, because they hold their value and have no aftermarket thats as crazy
