This is folk music from an island in the middle of nowhere - St. Helena

St. Helena sits in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean, thousands of miles from anywhere. There are 4000 residents there. Four of those residents sat in a cosy living room, and played some songs.
St. Helena's relatively unique position in the world has given it an interesting music-making tradition and culture. There is an affinity for American country music, something inherited from the US military presence on the (kinda) nearby Ascension Island. Those that grew up in the good old days making that kind of music on fiddles and banjos are getting fewer and fewer, and as the younger generations are moving on to different styles of music, it seems that traditional music will become more and more rare. Therefore, it is a privilege to have been able to document it.
The Dry Bottle Band is comprised of:

George March - Harmonica
Jackie Stevens - Fiddle
