    Guys if you don’t work you don’t eat! Money is something that we all have to have in order to survive in this life and God is the one who provides it to us. Enjoy and spend the money responsibly that God has given you. Don’t be like the prodigal son and spend it on wickedness. Use Gods money to take care of your family and to do good for other people.

    7:26. Love this!!! Yes! God expects us to be wise stewards of the money he gives us!! (or enables us to get by giving us good health and a good job!) I get tired of the attitude of some overly self righteous people who think money is the root of all evil, instead of the LOVE of money!!

      Lil Crafty Nook great point ....... I also think the lack money can be the root a lot of evil too. Money in the hands of the believer is powerful can be used to promote to kingdom work.

    Do not lay up treasure for yourself where moth eats, rust destroy, and theives break in and steal. The more money you have to spend for yourself, extra money, the more you will be tempted to love the things of the world, if you are not careful.

      Lightning Whip We can’t/shouldn’t give to others if we can’t even pay our own bills or help our own families. God wants us to take care of our own households and church first, then give to other outside ministries as God blesses us.

    Ant = occupy until I come. Savings = don't sacrifice an opportunity to help your neighbor or trusting in God because your priority is saving up your own wealth beyond your basic needs.
    God never promised us a roof. He promised us food and clothing. He didnt establish consumer holidays, he gave us the Sabbath and a formula for honoring the Sabbath without starving on the 7th day or in the 7th year.
    God provides what you NEED not whay you WANT. God sees your heart.

    I see many foolish remarks against being wise like the ant, an ant prepares. Investing money is a wise choice to prepare for a rainy day. Living check by check is unwise and not responsible.
    Proverbs 6:6
    Go to the ant, you sluggard;
    consider its ways and be wise!

    Joseph of Arimathea was rich. Yet, he’s the one who gave his tomb up for the body of Christ Jesus. Jesus also said in Luke 11:21, “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are safe”. So it seems as if the Lord is saying it’s good to arm yourself to guard your home and goods. And Paul even talks about in 2 Thessalonians 3 how and why we should “work quietly and to earn their own living”. And also have enough to give to everyone who is needy. There’s definitely a line between having money and saving it to provide for your family and to anyone who is in need. To basically, live and spend in a way that it good for others, serving God. And to have money and save in a way, where you are just living for yourself and to fund your own pleasures. It doesn’t seem as if money itself is wrong, but the love of it is.

    This is why we need to be Born again genuinely.
    The word of God are Proverbs and Spiritualy designed. The new convernant was established After the dead of Jesus Christ, Not befor. Jonh 16:7, Jeremiah 31:33.
    Even when JESUS Christ was on the earth He was under the law. The law then was a cooperate one
    But now the new covenant is an individual convernant, find out what He wants you to do by listening to your spirit, it's depends who lives there.
    May God Almighty guide you through the right part.

    Become rich and invest more in the kingdom of GOD.
    GOD has the power to make us rich and poor.
    Saved and invest your money for the next generations, so that they may continue your legacy of being a blessing to the needy people and to the kingdom of GOD.

    Pastor Tim can you give some insight on how you read verses like Romans 9:8. I think debt is a huge issue in our nation and in the church and I fear judgment is coming on us for it. Specifically I’m struggling with the idea of mortgages. But what should we do with with OT examples of loans like in Deuteronomy 15:1-11. I know it’s expected for basically everyone to have a mortgage but people do a lot of things I don’t agree with and I don’t want to swallow a sinful assumption. Your videos have been a huge blessing- thanks for sharing your gifts with the church.

    • @kathybuck411
      @kathybuck411 5 лет назад

      Debt should not be a part of a Christian's life. I have been taught by a very wise man of God, that, you ask God what to sow, and for what cause, and he will tell you. Then sow it for that reason, God will bless you with whatever you sowed into, or prayed for. Or, he may tell you to sow into something else but believe in your heart that God is going to bless you, and God will. Sow a seed for what God says, and God will help you get out of debt.

      In another of Pastor Tim's videos (I think 10 Myths about Money and Giving, though I'm not sure) he says he doesn't believe all kind of mortgage/debt is bad, rather not paying your debts is sin. In the case of a car, he's against it because the car can't be sold for anywhere near the price you bought it and thus you may end up unable to pay for a car you can't afford. In the case of a house, he gave this example:
      If you set up a mortgage such that you pay the same for a mortgage as you would be paying rent and if you default the house can be sold and the debt be paid, then ultimately you will own the home and not have to pay. It is better steward ship of your money to purchase a home than to rent.
      Pastor Tim himself, if I remember right, purchased his house with a 5-year mortgage.
      EDIT: @ 12:15 in this video, Pastor Tim explains he believed it better to get a 6-year mortgage for his house that to continuously rent.

    How do we understand this verse in relation to the question: “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭13‬:‭22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
    ?

    • @illbehonest
      @illbehonest  9 месяцев назад

      My current interpretation of that verse suggests that in the New Testament, a faithful parent's desired legacy for their children is primarily a spiritual inheritance. This spiritual inheritance, found in Christ, holds paramount significance for Christians. In contrast, for Old Covenant Jews, the focus was on a physical inheritance, specifically a land. Therefore, when considering these distinctions, we can observe that New Testament believers seek a spiritual inheritance and anticipate a heavenly kingdom, while Old Covenant Jews pursued a physical inheritance by aiming to conquer a physical land.

    The love of money is the root of all evil. And not money itself. For one can have tons of it and not love it. And on the other hand one can have very little of it and love money. And would do anything for it.

The KJV is a great translation, but not the only one that is faithful to the original text. We've had people among who were KJV only or Textus Receptus onlyist, for further study you can hear Tim's message on it: illbehonest.com/the-myth-of-the-king-james-only-tim-conway

    If you invested your money, you are helping a company or a cooperative. Your money was put to something in good use. Thus, literally you are not hoarding or storing it which might be destroyed by termites or moth. On the same way you will be rewarded in due time if the company you've hepled will succeed. It's a give and take phenomenon.

    There appears to be no NT passage that supports savings and investing for one's long term future needs.
    Mat 6:19 - Do not accumulate for yourselves treasures on earth
    Heb 13:5 - be content with such things as you have
    Phil 4:11-13 - have learned to be content
    1 Tim 6:6-12 - But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
    1 Tim 6:17-19 - not… to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches
    Jas 5:1-6 … you have hoarded wealth in the last days. # context is clearly about greed
    Luk 8:14 - but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature
    Luk 12:15 - Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.
    Luk 12:33 - Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide yourselves purses that do not wear out-a treasure in heaven that never decreases, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.
