  • Three Sisters Springs is one of the most important warm water winter refuges for manatees on the Gulf Coast of Florida. It is part of the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge on Kings Bay in Crystal River Florida. In 2005, news broke that the 57 acre property Three Sisters Springs is located on had been purchased by a group of developers wanting to construct 300+ houses and condominiums.
This video chronicles the effort to save Three Sisters Springs, located in the heart of the City of Crystal River, from impending development.
This video was produced for the Friends of the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge by the Citrus County Visitors & Convention Bureau for display at the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, opening in 2021.
