Just moved to Homosassa 2 weeks ago, and buying a kayak this weekend.. Definitely gonna have to check out this little float
This is hands down my FAVORITE place to kayak. My husband and I stay at the campground and make a whole weekend of it ^_^
It is soooo beautiful!!!
I love this video
Yes, we are going this coming Saturday and thanks for sharing.
Enjoy! I don’t believe the rope swing is there anymore though! Just what I’ve heard 🙂
Beautiful!
Absolutely gorgeous place! I cannot wait to have my own kayak to start visiting these places!!
Yes! Let me know when you do 🙌🏻
Got our Airbnb for June 9th thru 12th!! Can't wait. House is right on the water
Oh my gosh, have so much fun! That will be amazing!
Thank you! I just bought my kayak and was a little nervous about venturing off alone--your information has given me confidence...
That is so nice to hear! Please let me know how it goes!
We are so happy that you found this magical spot. We were camping last weekend and wanted to find The Crack. It took us a while and we were hoping to get all the way back there. Just as we were ready to turn around, we found some kind people that assured us that it was back there. Beautiful!!!!! Keep exploring.
YES! Thank goodness for the kindness of strangers 🙏🏻
I "ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE" I tent there all the time! Yes.... By MYSELF 🤣
Tampanian here. This is super helpful. A friend took us to this magical place years ago and I have been dreaming of it ever since. Going back next month. Thanks for all the tips.!
SWEET!! I love to hear that! Hope you have another awesome trip!
What fun!
It was awesome! ☺️
Just subscribed! We’re always looking for new places to go around Florida for a weekend outing. Excellent video
Hooray!!! Thanks, David! Greet to connect with you.
I must go here!! Thanks for the tip!!
YAY!! Let me know what you think! 🙌🏻
I live in St. Petersburg florida and I frequently go to weeki wachee on my days off.. I leave super early in the morning so I get there and it’s still dark and I have the river to myself for a few hrs. Thinking about doing an overnight kayaking trip. Grab some LED lanterns and start out from Roger’s park and paddle till the sun comes up.
I was up at Seven Sisters Spring landside for the first time about a month ago. There is a nice long trail and a boardwalk that is adjacent to some of the Springs. The only parking is for vehicles with a handicap permit....and admission is fairly steep and per person. I had a party of 6 with me and we paid in excess of $30 total admission for my group with senior and military discounts.
You’re thinking of three sisters in crystal river! The best way to enjoy that spring is to paddle in, but it’s closed during winter as a sanctuary for manatees. Still very nice to walk the boardwalk, though the price and hike in is a bit much especially in the off season.
Maybe someday we will cross paths on a weekend paddling adventure! I really enjoy your videos and tips for a great day on the water or trails. Be safe and enjoy!
Thank you so much! I’m always looking for new places so if you have any suggestions, please send ‘em my way!
@@SarahsOutdoorAdventures Check out Hunter Springs Park to launch and then paddle to Three Sisters Springs in Crystal River. It really pays to get there early so you can enjoy the Springs in the Wildlife Refuge before it gets really busy.
I'm transferring to Florida for work in September. I'm learning all the cool places to go from your videos!
That is awesome!!! 🙌🏻 What part of Florida are you moving to?
@@SarahsOutdoorAdventures Not sure. I work from home so I can live anywhere. I kayak, bike (mountain, road & gravel) and hike/run. I thought about Ocala since it's central to everything, but think that may be too far from the ocean. So now I'm leaning towards Sarasota or the area around Dunedin. Any suggestions?
@@ralphkeith2905 Ocala is a beauty, but yeah, a little bit of a haul to the ocean from there! The beaches down in the Sarasota area (Lido, Longboat Key are unparalleled), but if you’re look for more of a central location, I think you’re on to something with Dunedin! Super cute town, close to the beaches and closer (far closer than Sarasota) to the springs and rivers on the nature coast!
@@SarahsOutdoorAdventures thanks for the input! I plan to rent for a year so I can explore the entire state before settling down.
I camp at the Crack a couple years ago it's super creepy at night out there
Oh gosh, I bet it would be a little spooky!
Great video!!! What was the date of your visit?
Awesome video! Definitely will be going to this spring. At what time you got in the water? How long is from the spring to the Crack? Looking fwrd to seeing your adventures.
I launched at sunrise! So somewhere in the 6 am hour (can’t remember exact time). It doesn’t take too long to get to the crack. 25-30 min if you don’t get turned around, like I did! Have fun!!
5 am wake up?? 😱😱😱 It looked gorgeous though!
It was amazing!!! But I can’t believe you are up so early right now!!!? 😲
@@SarahsOutdoorAdventures hahaha it's the cats' faults!
heading there Saturday. thank you for the video, really helped. we are from central Florida and I think we will head out at 5a. any good authentic or recommend restaurants that are casual and an 8 year old would also enjoy
Have so much fun! Not quite sure about restaurants in the area, but Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park is just about 15 minutes from the Chaz campground & would be a great stop if you haven’t been yet!
@@SarahsOutdoorAdventures I have not, just might have to! Thanks again.
is no alligator there???
I’ve never seen one, but some have!
Large alligators in the river, but it might be a little shallow by the Crack for them to be a problem. You will always see people swimming by the springs and never see anyone swimming in the river itself.
Love your videos! New here in Florida so sorry for my question but how can a lot of people go to this place if there are alligators in there. 😳 looks a beautiful place but how can you enjoy if you don’t know if an alligator could appear 😱
