  • Welcome to Episode 5 of the Telethrasher series, where I take a DIY telecaster kit guitar and turn it into my Ultimate Metal Weapon. In this episode I am applying a Danish Oil finish as well a wipe on polyurethane coating. This is my first time messing with poly and it isn't too difficult to work with. If I didn't run a binding a probably would have sanded between coats and even wet (oil coated sandpaper) sanded the oil into the body for an even smoother finish...but I didn't want to "Refresh the binding again...cause lazy...haha! Not to worry though because the Kraft Paper trick rules!
I'm really pumped on the way this is turning out! I can't wait to get all the black pieces on it to give it that classy and METAL look!

Paper bag to smooth rough spots is an awesome hint. Thanks!

No problem! It’s a great little technique that beats that heck out of sanding and polishing! Thanks for watching!

Ooh, that craft paper trick is something I'm gonna steal for sure, thanks for sharing. The guitar already looks killer - looking forward to the next installations in the series.

Yeah it’s a handy little trick! The guitar us done and I have several sound clips, I just need to get to filming and editing the video! Hopefully this weekend, but don’t hold me to it hahaha

I never have seen that craft paper trick before. I have used fine steel wool in the past that worked pretty good. Oiling is definitely the most satisfying part of any wood working project. The body is looking sick! Can’t wait to hear that beauty in action

Soon it’ll be done! I hope! I’m getting so pumped and stoked for this build! The craft paper trick rules hard. Steel wool works great too

@@Tkolbo_ Thanks brother! Doing well, Just got back from Bentonville. Did a little solo mission to find some dirt. And dirt is what I found, but also some more snow, lol. But I did find a sweet place to stay with bike wash station and bike storage in the room!

I'm not sure what's wrong with the video. But every once in a while a loud guitar noise covers your voice. A little distracting. 🤪
