Yes, this is a great, objective and thorough review. I have two of the Einstein 640WS and I am very happy with them. I trigger them and a speedlite with Pocketwizards. I recently added the Cyber Commander to remotely configure settings on the Einstein. ( When you place the Einstein higher up for a hairlight for example, going up and down a step stool to change settings is a challenge. ) The Cyber Commander is richly featured and works well. PCB has a few great videos on how to configure it. The big piece of info to share is how to place and remove light modifiers. It is best to remove the flash from the stand and lower it onto an inverted softbox for example. When I tried to install the large rectangular softbox on the front of the flash when mounted on a light stand, it is challenging to get all 4 of the holding fingers inside the cowl of the light modifier. You may think it is seated properly so you let go of the softbox and it falls off taking the modeling light cover with it.
John C, I posted that 7 years ago, and these strobes are still as good today. Maybe I'll do a 2nd review after years of use. Back when I made that, I was using cheap Cowboy Studios transceivers. But I quickly switched to the Cybercommander, and the plugin receivers. Works great, but it's kind of cumbersome to page through the settings. Luckily, I never had problems with the clamping system. Even with my biggest rectangular soft box. I'm probably extra careful, since I was warned about it early and still am a little paranoid about it.
would you share with me something. in the picture with guy with the guitar on stage where did you have your einstein positioned in relationship to the guitar player? if your willing could you tell me the shot settings, if im not asking to much info. thanks cliff
Hey Cliff. Getting ready to shoot a band? In that shot the Einstein was stage right on a light stand, in beauty dish. About 1/16th power for fill. 1/90th, f3.3, iso 800.
Great review! It has helped me a ton with my new Einstein purchase. Thank you

Great job. Thanks a ton.
Great tutorial!
VERY HELPFUL!
Yeah, that's one of the unique features of the Einsteins - you can dial-in exactly how heterosexual you wish the model to appear.
I think that's the LGBT Control
Lol that's hilarious!
