Its possible to make the RC car without Labo but the fishing rod or piano or even robot if you're crazy would be close to impossible without Nintendo's help
Actually, if you go to store.nintendo.com, they sell replacement stuff for Labo. And, if you were to buy replacement EVERYTHING for e.g. the Robot Kit, it would cost only about $18 less than the brand-new Robot Kit does. :/ Basically: you really ARE paying for the cardboard; the game cards in each Labo Toy-Con kit are apparently worth only twenty bucks each. And I'm not chuffed about that at all. :|
I suspect you need a thinner and denser cardboard. My theory is that the thicker corrugated cardboard is absorbing a fair amount of the vibration. Get a similar cardboard or card stock and it will likely work better!
you can also have an rc car ready to go. keep the joy con grip included, 1. Detach your controllers 2. Open controllers 3. Go to the button that makes your joy cons vibrate 4. attach the joy cons to the grip 5. Play with the vibration and you have your RC car, despite it not having all the other cool features now u owe this comment a like
I would like to see someone print, trace and cut the Labo builds. Since Labo sheets are bigger than normal printer paper, you need 4 paper sheet for each Labo sheet. For the Variety pack, you need to print, align, trace and cut 112 sheets. Good luck with that. So you are NOT paying 70 - 80 for cardboard. But for the work you DON'T have to do.
The 60 dolars are because it haves like 50 more other things and even the game the software and this is just one of the gadgets and the most little one and the less difficult to make and it doesnt even work better than the original have you seen the other ones they are like 60 times more difficult than this one
The frequency is kind of important, so you have to use the Labo software to do that, the one in the video didn't work with the controller test either, but worked with the Labo software
They come on cartridges, you can either buy the cartridges separately on the used market or you could just use Homebrew to do it. As for the cardboard you can find schematics and guides for making them yourself out of your own cardboard, I would definitely recommend a set of exacto knives and a self-healing mat as opposed to cutting them out with scissors since that's more accurate and it'll still cost you less than the official labo.
Because most of these things aside from maybe the VR (which does have third party plastic versions that are much more durable than the cardboard ones) are essentially cheap novelties that aren't going to be interesting to people for longer than they're going to last. In that regard Nintendo can charge an insane amount of money for cardboard and people will buy it, basically people aren't going to be interested in it long enough for the durability to matter much and it increases the profit margins.
I was just wondering how your little knockoff compared to the real thing! Thanks for clearing that up, Alex. Now you just have to get the guys over at GameXplain to go head to head with their fake Labo RC car. May the best faker win!
I don’t understand the hype around the labo. First its very expensive. Is it made of a rare cardboard ?? 😑 Second thing, I could buy a much better quality race car then this. I am very disappointed as a big Nintendo fan. I really hope they will put their money in making games and do their best to attract third parties for more game variety.
Nintendo is going to lose money because of this. Honestly it’s not very fun. I mean I guess for a bit. But it would get boring pretty fast. I mean it sounds really stupid to buy $75 worth of cardboard. It’s not even a game. It’s just all gonna fail like the the other stuff they made like the Wii accessories. And it doesn’t really matter if you are really into this or not your argument is going to be invalid. Because you can argue as much is you want. Basically like I said This is just another waste of money
MarioFan588 / And yet ironically, it's the adults garnering the most appeal for this stuff. I would honestly be surprised if even one kid decided he would rather assemble a Labo Kit and play a selection of mediocre mini games as opposed to a bright, shiny, new Mario game. Granted, there are arguments to be made for the Labo, but I'm not dropping $150 total on a product that will start to collect dust in less than a week.
Do you people bother doing any research? It is 70$ for 10$ cardboard and 60$ SOFTWARE. I have Labo and it is so much fun and inventive. It includes software, a way to build it, a way to discover it. A great soundtrack. It’s. Not. Just. Cardboard. Do your research before you call something lame, children. Let that be a lesson to you
Before anyone starts saying “SEE! LABO ISN’T WORTH IT”
(Those people who say it is just cardboard) please remember you still need the SOFTWARE
Benjigoo ‘xactly
actually you can vibrate the joycons from the controller menu, it gives you the same effect
CroadNation “same effect”, when Alex had to put it onto a tilted surface to get it to move forward with that method?
Not to mention changeable frequency and X-ray vision
Its possible to make the RC car without Labo but the fishing rod or piano or even robot if you're crazy would be close to impossible without Nintendo's help
I wouldn't trust 3rd party cardboard, Nintendo might have it Brick your Switch & Labo
Kev San LOL!!!!!
More like *BOX* your switch
Kev San best comment ever
I about choked on my cornflakes!!! LOL
Lol
I was waiting for someone to do this
sunsbookishgamesx same my friend keeps going on about why buy labo for like £50 get a box u have and make it they annoy me
but you still need the software
sunsbookishgamesx i see you everywhere lol
i think she follows everyone around on youtube and comments on the videos they watch
sunsbookishgamesx me too, it’s just cardboard
But what can you do with it? ;-)
I mean the expensive thing at Nintendo LABO isn’t the cardboard. It’s the software

+Kizul Emeraldfire That doesn't include the software ya dip. How would you actually build anything?
@@natebobdog23 Videos and pictures of the schematics.

Dylan ur correct
Word of the day: Chuffed.
DeriBear Alex needs to make a video just about English slang.
We know what it means. He's just saying it a helluvalot, where he has other words in his lexicon that would have the same meaning.
Word of every video tarring Alex
When he says waffling it used to confuse me considering waffling is something completely different in American slang.
We're all very proud of you Alex!!
And a new field of engineering is born : Cardboard Engineering.

Too late i'm going to print and cut lmao, wish me luck
More videos like this man, there's not enough of you on RUclips lately!
I love his nice little chuckle at 3:14
Is Alex’s mustache getting a divorce or am I just imaging it farther away
We are not nintendo we cant understand the technology behind the special high quality 1st party Nintendo cardboard.
Hey alex keep on the good work i love your content and i hope one day you hit that 1m milestone
Something you could use if you don’t have a labo game is just use the controller finder
That wont work. The controller finder doesn't have the same frequency to work the same way. I've tried but it just wont move.
In an unrelated note: the guide characters in labo have backstory and hidden lore (kinda) they are really cool because they speak to you personally
Plaise for smash!!!
This is just 1 toy-con. All the others won’t work as they have more components
YoshiPilot buy one online
Eleazar Lazarus buy what online
You can actually buy the cardboard for the variety kit for $20 and robot kit for $30 on the official Nintendo Ebay
60$ cardboard official replacement or 0.10$ handmade ones hard to choose🤔
The 60 dolars are because it haves like 50 more other things and even the game the software and this is just one of the gadgets and the most little one and the less difficult to make and it doesnt even work better than the original have you seen the other ones they are like 60 times more difficult than this one
Ha!
"Hello there lovely peeeeeeeople"
It always gets me
Spoiler alert: it does! 🙌
DUDE YOU RUINED INFINITY WAR FOR ME
The_Savinator101 oh no
Thanos claps instead of snapping...
I got the vehicle kit and I can just make a cardboard one and use toy con garage to make it vibrate.
It's exactly why it's made of carboard
If you break it you can remake it for (almost) free
boi if this was made when before Nintendo Labo was made it will be a mock up
Alex is team instinct.
Great video
...could you just use the Joycon Grip as a Labo RC Car?
challenge failed
John Grey
You tested that for me? Thanks
i tried it with the pro controller too but it failed
The frequency is kind of important, so you have to use the Labo software to do that, the one in the video didn't work with the controller test either, but worked with the Labo software
i dont have labo because im broke lol
Were you really chuffed at that?
You know labo comes with another rc car
Can you also do it with the find controller vibration
No because find controller vibration is not pound enough
nice vid but why so long. it could easy be done in a min or 2
That laughing 😫
No because you need the game
Easiest product to bootleg, and somehow nobody complains, not even Nintendo (yet).
Can I you try making a homemade version of that puzzle? (And then give me the original 😉)
Nintendo is going to DMCA the hell out of your channel.
here 2:12
Does anyone else have to problem where the official RC car can’t directly move forward but instead diagonally? Its really unsatisfying!
How do you download a nintendo labo software
They come on cartridges, you can either buy the cartridges separately on the used market or you could just use Homebrew to do it.

See if you can drive a small cardboard box
I have that Zelda puzzle!
The feet of car is have to be "lancip", Newton Teory i guess??
can you put wheels on it
InfinityPancakes would ruin the purpose
0:01 - 0:05 what did he say???
I made a homemade labo wheel and gas paddle
0:39 chhhh~
Uhm, how is this surprising?
WOW!
Amazing videos I subscribed for you
Why wont they just use something permanent instead of cardboard???
Because most of these things aside from maybe the VR (which does have third party plastic versions that are much more durable than the cardboard ones) are essentially cheap novelties that aren't going to be interesting to people for longer than they're going to last. In that regard Nintendo can charge an insane amount of money for cardboard and people will buy it, basically people aren't going to be interested in it long enough for the durability to matter much and it increases the profit margins.
Lol real labo moves faster, quality Nintendo
But is it nintendo brand?
I was just wondering how your little knockoff compared to the real thing! Thanks for clearing that up, Alex. Now you just have to get the guys over at GameXplain to go head to head with their fake Labo RC car. May the best faker win!
labo review?
Make sure it doesn’t brick your switch tho.
of course it will work it is just cardboard that is the point???
FBI OPEN UP!
No
LIFE HAX
Just wait until clones are a buck from AliExpress.
The arsey car?
RC. Stands for Radio Controlled. Although it isnt really an RC car they call it that
Am I a lovely person???

Toxic hardud Yes we know
No you need the game

Don’t pay for labo

LordJack225 Pig not like the software is any good
The software is like 60 dollars. That's where most of the money went.
