when situation is reversed ( Elaine loses stock money when Peterman returns and George is trying to console her ). At that point Elaine bursts out saying : Are you stickin' it to me?
This proves that she was indeed stickin' it to him earlier at the coffee shop which George interpreted correctly and Jerry didn't.
