- A documentary discussing Santa Maria style BBQ and its history at The Hitching Post in Buellton, CA.
A student film by Beau Manning, Frank Lopez, Tyler Little and Daniel Medina out of Allan Hancock College.
Born and raised in the central coast. This bbq a part of life. Its a lifestyle.
How I miss that BBQ Tri Tip from The Hitching Post.
This video, is “keeping it alive.” Thanks for the upload.
i love this dude... the hat, the wine, the food .. he is a genius
God Damn Right! From Paso Robles down to Lompoc we cook/ grill the same out here on the Central Coast with our unique and indigenous style of BBQ/ life. Ain't nothing better than some Santa Maria Style Tri-Tip. I get to school all my military friends on this when I get my hands on some un-trimmed Tri-tip, Suzie q and California Red Oak... I'm really proud of where I'm From... We know how to grill our here. #805 #SantaMaria #LowandSlow #yeeyee
Amen brother
I was born in Kansas. (A lot of cattle). I always thought, Kansas City was the capital of barbecue in the US. I took my daughter Jill, for her birthday 🎂🎈 to Joe's BBQ in Kansas City. It was rated the best ‼️‼️ since I now live in Arizona, I might have to visit California, and eat at Santa Maria BBQ. It looks delicious 😋🤤🍴🥩👄
well done, great history. I will be buying one of these grills for my Christmas.
Looking forward to my very first visit. I’ve been waiting a long time to do so.
AWESOME!! Took my family to the original location. It was the most amazing place and steak we have ever had. CHEERS!!
Good video. I like that he told the difference between the interpretation of bbq for different regions because you’ll get the purist coming into the comment section saying “that’s not bbq, that’s grilling”. To me, cooking over wood or using wood to create heat takes a lot more work than using a Southern Pride or Ole Hickory oven that most restaurants use. I respect the work that goes into cooking with fire
Mr. Ostini calls it grilling, I'm going to continue calling it grilling.
Very cool video. Some really awesome shots here. Hope this gets a lot of views my friend.
Thanks a lot!
@@BeauManning you are very welcome
Sideways is my favorite movie.
p.s. We have also been to #2 location in Buellton :)
Good job frank on this film
I cant stop looking at his safari hat...tee hee
Sideways sucks ass, just being honest, i'm sure the food is great though.
Overrated steaks and sides were weak.
Its overrated, I went here recently and got the 12oz ribeye, medium rare, it came out medium in the middle and the rest was well, with barely any flavor, was expecting a lot more for 50+$. Sadly disappointed.
This sounds like it should be on Yelp, not on my documentary. 🙂
@@BeauManning Thanks for the opinion, I'm just trying to warn people from wasting money, since I watched this video for review before going to the resturant and had high expectations from it.
@@syntiy5737 I went. It was unbelievably good.
Sounds like you're just mad about what you paid. You can get a meal like this for less than $20 in the Central Valley, maybe they just charge prices like that at tourist spots
