    Or you can like, just do the math because it's super basic? Subtract the forward voltage of your LED from the voltage of your power supply, then divide that by the operating current of your LED to get the resistance you should run. More resistance (to put the current below the rated current) makes your LED dimmer but also last longer.

    I never understand resistors. That said, I just hook up my leds with a step down module or try to get a power source close to whatever the max V is of the leds. Never had a burn out.
