I am going to make one of these for my husband . He broke his neck two years ago and has a lot of pain with the cold. So I crocheted a pocket to sew to the inside back of hood. The pocket will hold hand warmers!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial I taught myself to crochet about 18 months ago and am now attempting to make myself a hoodie and this hood tutorial is amazing thank you
Hi Ms. Jennetics! I'm an advanced beginner, and this was a great tutorial, on top of that, I love the colors! Joy is always in color combos in my book.
I love this pattern so much! Im currently using it to crochet a shark hood!! Edit: I have completely finished making the shark hood and I love it. The pattern seemed intimidating at first but this video was very helpful!!
This is a great tutorial, i am a beginner and wanted to make one for my grandson. I finished it on sunday and he loves it and wont take it off 😂 his mum has asked for matching gloves now so im off to find another tutourial. Thanks again❤
Vid saved for reference; going to translate the basic pattern of this into naalbinding. Could never figure out how to make an actual hood lol; now I know! Thanks for making this vid!
You did an awesome job at explaining well done. U know if your hood would go nicely with a crochet sweater xx (if u do come up with a pattern I would love to try it. ) I’ve never created a sweater in crochet before. Lol. Let me know if u come up with one xxx
Pray for me, trying to do this but in extended Sc and a 4mm hook 😅 gonna be a while at it 😂 Edit: I have mentally converted everything to same size hood from last project (which was same as this pattern)
it would’ve been super helpful to have the measurements instead of the chX count. not everyone is going to use the exact same yarn and hook size so it’d be a lot easier to match the pattern that way :) mine turned out waaay too small when chaining 30, so i had to redo the hood a couple of times.
i'll admit, I'm not good with math and measurements and that's why I say keep chaining until you get your measurements since I have a small head. thank you for your suggestion!
@@JenneticCraftsthat’s fair but just measuring the starting chain and how long the first 7 rows are for you would be more than enough to match the pattern with any yarn and hook size :) great pattern though! i used it for my turtleneck hood and it worked out so much better than any other hood tutorial :)
@@JenneticCrafts I even did 28 chains with a loose tension and a 8 mm hook, I need alot more rows haha, maybe you had alot thicker yarn. The yarn i used it's very identical to Red heart Melange, but it's a swedish dupe
I gues for better clarification.. which rows do you do the increase of 3 double crochet in one stitch?.. I know at one point you do two double crochets at the beginning and at the end of the row
@@user-li6gc2qy2j in the beginning i only increase in the beginning when you’re turning around. Then at row 7 you start your increases, 2 double crochets at the end of the row. I hope that made sense for you
is it normal that it looks a lot smaller than how you showed it i did everything exactly cause it was super easy to follow but it ended up really small what can i change to make it bigger
Exact same thing happened to me. I did 27 chains, double strand of a medium size yarn with 8 mm hook and it ended up being kid sized. Maybe even toddler sized. Luckily, the patterns is easy enough to redo.

(sorry for the late reply I didn't get a notification) thank you so much for watching and i'm glad it worked out for you!
I want to do this but just 1 color? How can I do it? It won't be the same number of stiches, will it?
You can do double strand of the same color and it will be the same outcome. I have not tried this pattern with 1 strand of yarn yet.
hahahaha mine does not look like yours xD 12 is way to small! xD I used 2 strands of medium weight yarn
Did you chain 25-27 in the beginning with loose tension, then do 12 rows?
@@JenneticCrafts I even did 28 chains with a loose tension and a 8 mm hook, I need alot more rows haha, maybe you had alot thicker yarn. The yarn i used it's very identical to Red heart Melange, but it's a swedish dupe
Same I also chained 28 and did way more rows and hers still looks bigger!
What two yarn she use to make a Hood and what yarn she use to make the Fringe.
@@user-vn3kj5mi3h i use the same yarn. Worsted weight
Plssss make a video for rainbow one where can ı change color and how can ı do🙈🙈 am so new ı cant do anyrhing without watch step by step😂
That’s okay!! I can make an updated video since now this is a year old 🥰
Hello! Can I ask what is the ply of your yarn used? Is it 8ply?
@@ddeoksang7822 i don’t know what that means but if it helps I use Worsted Weight yarn
@@JenneticCrafts Okie thank you so much!
If I use a smaller hook do I just need to make it bigger until I can get an 8mm hook? The biggest I have is 6.5
If you use a smaller hook it will come out smaller
Would I be able to use a single crochet? I like the stich much more
you can, but the hood would look different and take more time to finish. I have never made one using single crochet
Very nice. Thank you. 🌺🌷🌺
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching 🙂
Am I able to do this with one yarn and not a mix of 2? I’m not at the level to work with 2 strands haha
I have never tried it with one strand before so I'm sure it will effect the size of it.
Very nice
Thank you!
Am I supposed to do 12 rows of FLO?? 15:50
No, it alternates.
Thank you! I was a little too high and got lost 😅😅😅
@@alyssasvlogs6022 you’re welcome!! Thats okay 😂😂
Do I do 3 double crochet at the top on every row. You only mention doing it one time?.. thanks
Are you talking about the beginning increases?

Hola que grosor de hilo utilizaste en ambas hebras .....
Hello, I used worsted weight (weight 4) for both strands of yarn.
@@JenneticCrafts que es peso peinado ????? No entiendo ...
Grosor 4 es peso ????? ..no entiendo su idioma
Significa grosor medio, como para un gancho de 4 o 5 milímetros
Has anyone who has done this pattern figured out how to get rid of the bump at the back? X
I just sew the bump very tightly until you can’t notice it. I’m pretty sure I explained it in the video
How many grams of yarn did you use?
I’m sorry i’m not good with math but I used less than a skein of yarn for each color.
Bonjour, Quel et la marque de la laine svp? Merci
I used a mixture of Big Twist from Joann, Red Heart Super Saver from Michaels or Joann for most of my hoods
@@JenneticCrafts merci beaucoup !

is there any written pattern???
No i only make video tutorials

Did you double strand and use a 8mm? Or you might have to loosen your tension.
