8 bit (SDR aka standard dynamic range) shows 16,777,216 colors, 10 bit (HDR aka high dynamic range) shows 1,073,741,824 colours. some camera's can take pictures in 12 bit, but there currently isn't any 12 bit displays for consumers; 12 bit supports: 68,719,476,736 different colours.

You also have to activate hdr in windows for it to work(assuming you're using windows)
