Ava Smith I got some glass stuck in my hand at work and didn’t have any tweezers so I just pushed it in and it came out like 3-4 days later I just had to cut the top layer of the skin and it just slid out usually your body will kick shit out to the surface it’s just wether or not it can get out
Wood is one of the things you should get out asap because it's a natural source your body freaks out and tries to attack it causing inflammation and in the worst cases you might even lose your finger. Glass on the other hand? leave that in there for the rest of your life your body doesn't care.

(especially if it is in a callused area that has no "give" like a heel, or a wood worker's hand ;) ) You did really well at getting it out without any tears and massive cussing too!
i had a similar splinter 20 years ago, i was jumping a bad quarter pipe on roller blades and dragged my hand down old wood and got a splinter about the exact same size at the exact same spot. it healed and notice that i was able to move something around inside my finger, so i performed my own surgery at age 16 to get it out just like you.
