Ik vind dat het nummer een mooie twist heeft gekregen. Such fun!
SDP, although fundamentally different in what they do, they are just as big a crowd-pleaser as Nightwish are.
I absolutely adore what they did here, because it is 180 degrees away from the original, yet you can immidiately recognize the typical features of the song.
And the creativity in translating the song to German is mighty impressive, the lyrics are stunning.
I really enjoyed this.
Floor seemed to love their version and that says it all. Great job, SDP!
It's not about creating a perfect cover, but about making music together, having fun and thinking outside the box musically. You have to see this version as a tribute to the message of the original song. SDP do well in both maintaining their own style and picking up Amaranth in a recognisable way. I also think you can see in the show that Floor is having a lot of fun with the other singers and that's the main thing at this point (in my opinion). Anyway, we know that there is no second Floor 🙂
The chorus is FIRE in German! Holy hell! This definitely has a very different feel to it, but I love it!
It's crazy to me the talent of these people...singing beautifully in multiple languages & entertaining millions. While most of us toil away in a passion less existence. It reminds me of a quote from a Seal song "in a world full of people only some want to fly, is that not crazy?" Yes it is brother, yes it is. So thank you to those who are able to fly & get the rest of us through the day. You rock🤘

But honestly? Best f***ing collaboration I ever heard.
It's still very well recognizable as one of my favorite Nightwish songs, but at the same time it sounds as if it was always meant to be sung by Dag & Vincent...
This is going on my playlist, and probably it's staying on repeat for a looong time.

I like how musicians are somehow able to keep the tone, rhythm, etc. as closest possible to the original when translating songs into other languages. Lotta times the languages sound completely different. Like English doesn’t sound a lot like German for the most part.

It’s always cool to hear songs from this type of shows. They put all these artists in a blender and let the creativity flow free. The results are always amazing!
But ofc this doesn’t top the original, nothing can ever do that since it’s Toumas’s brainchild.

I never knew I needed a German/English mixed version of this song. I wasn't really a fan of the first recording because Anette's voice was a little too saccharin sweet for what Nightwish had been with Tarja but this is a seriously well rounded rendition. Love it

I like this. Different, and great. Changes it in some ways but still pulls the character of the original. This is what cover songs should be.
Perhaps this is a little push for the curious techno fans to open the door to symphonic metal and Nightwish and discover a whole new world. Nice rendition, SDP!

Fellow techno-rave-hardcore-rawstylehead here, i also love rock and metal, been listening to it since im about 12, im 24 now and still listen to it, only what i listen to got a bit more rough but i still know with what bands i started and nightwish is definitly one of them :)
Floor how did you become so fluent in German? I was shocked by how well you sing and speak it!
She studied it for a few months she said in an interview, for the show.
As another comment said, she studied it, but also she's Dutch, and the languages are rather similar in many regards, to the point where many Germans can at least read Dutch, and vice versa.
Dont forget she studied Opera and Theaters for years. So some traditionell Songs she did anyway in German before.

@@danmartin3402 Well, they are similar enough, especially when a northern german and a dutch get drunk, they sound the same to me (from south-west). Still, her accent is pretty much gone when she sings at this point, it's quite incredible compared to the first show.

Ich muss sagen, dass es schon erstaunlich ist, wie erschreckend es ist, wie untolerant Rock- und Metalfans gegenüber anderer Musik sind, nicht jetzt nur hier in dem Beispiel, sondern leider wirklich generell. Das ist einfach nur schwach. Zum Teil auch, wie sie sich in ihrer "Würde" verletzt fühlen, wenn ein Künstler etwas mag, womit sie dann nicht einverstanden sind. Rein hypothetisch: Wenn Floor zum Beispiel sagen würde, dass sie Helene Fischer bewundert, mein Gott, wie riesig wäre wohl der Aufschrei ihrer Fans.
Ich denke, dass man das nicht auf Metalfans im Allgemeinen übertragen kann, und auch nicht unbedingt auf alle Floor-Fans. Hier sind ja auch viele dabei, die diese Version hier durchaus schätzen - obwohl (oder weil?) sie sich deutlich vom Original unterscheidet.
Grade bei Floor Jansen und Nightwish ist das aber manchmal etwas "speziell" - schau dir z.B. ein beliebiges Reaction-Video zu "Ghost Love Score" an und guck der "Nightwish-Army" zu, wie sie den Kanal überrennt mit "Oh, great Reaction, wonderful", wenn der Reactor bei dem Ritual mitmacht, seine Bewunderung ausdrückt und der Goddess of Metal angemessen huldigt. Aber wehe, es gibt ein wenig Kritik (kommt selten genug vor), oder es fällt der Vergleich mit Evanescence. Und wehe, wenn ein Reactor es wagt, das Outro bei "Christmas Truce" von Sabaton zu überspringen, das von Floor gesungen wird. Dann ist aber Rambazamba, Ende im Gelände. Da versteht die "Army" keinen Spaß. 😂
Ich sehe das entspannter. Floor ist eine tolle Sängerin - gar keine Frage. Aber Tarja auch, Anette auch, und Amy Lee auch. Und Elif, auch wenn ich da weit außerhalb ihrer Zielgruppe bin.
Klar, SDP sind gesanglich jetzt im Vergleich zu Floor ein wenig limitiert und Amaranth ist nicht wirklich einer der "Floor owns it now" Songs, aber ich denke im Rahmen ihrer Möglichkeiten haben sie das gut gemacht und ihr Text passt auch gut zur Stimmung die sie rüberbringen, die Musik ist auch trotz der "Gimmicks" als Amaranth zu erkennen ... ich glaube jetzt auch nicht, dass Floor lange überlegt hat, ob sie dieses Trio mit den beiden machen soll und selbst ohne die Ausstrahlung gesehen zu haben (kommt ja erst noch), merkt man, dass die drei, inklusive Floor einen Riesenspaß dabei hatten.
Insgesamt finde ich ohnehin, dass es fast alle gut gemacht haben. Lotte mit Noise, davor hatte ich fast Angst und bin wirklich von ihrer Version beeindruckt. Es ist völlig anders als die Nightwish Version, aber jeder der die Nightwish Version bereites einmal gehört hat, erkennt es sofort. Es ist Lottes Version und sie ist gut wie sie ist. Elif mit Fire kommt dem Original noch am nächsten. Für mich ein umgedrehtes Let it go von Floor, diesmal singt nicht die Königin, sondern die Prinzessin, ich denke das hat sie sehr, sehr gut gemacht. Kelvin Jones mit Storytime - es erinnert mich zwar von der Musik kaum an die Vorlage, aber der Text ist zu einem großen Teil übernommen und mir gefällt es. Oerding hat aus einer schnellen Nummer eine typische Oerdingballade gemacht. Kann man sich anhören. Es gibt da diese eine Ausnahme, aber da hoffe ich wirklich, dass es in der "Floors Folge" eine zufriedenstellende Erklärung gibt, da ich den betreffenden Song eigentlich gar nicht soooo furchtbar finde, er hat halt nur so gar nichts mit der Vorlage zu tun ...
Was Helene Fischer angeht, dass ist nun wirklich nicht meine Musik, aber ich könnte mir ein Duett von Floor und Helene durchaus vorstellen, vermute aber stark, dass beide keine Ahnung haben, wer der jeweils andere ist. Wenn Floor aber auf einmal in der Helene Fischer Show auftaucht und beide gemeinsam ein Duett schmettern .... ich bin sicher, ich würde es absolut feiern. Komischerweise bin ich mir nämlich sicher, dass Floors Stimme gut zu deutschem Schlager passen würde ..... oh .... verdammt .... ich habe mir gerade Floor "Atemlos" singen vorgestellt ....

@@oliverdonder7616 Antwort kommt ein bisschen spät, aber ich bin sehr sicher, dass Helene weiß, wer Floor ist. Andersherum, wer weiß. Helene ist die erfolgreichste kontinentaleuropäische Sängerin des letzten Jahrzehnts wahrscheinlich. Helene allerdings scheint, wie ich herausgefunden habe, als Jungendliche Fan von Nightwish, Evanescence, Within Temptation etc. gewesen zu sein und wenn sie diese Bands weiter verfolgt hat, sollte sie also doch wirklich mit Sicherheit wissen, wer Floor ist. Vielleicht sehen wir sie ja tatsächlich Weihnachten in ihrer Show. Floor hat ja gezeigt, dass sie recht offen ist.

I was halfway through before my brain got over short-circuiting from how ingrained the expectations of what this song is when Nightwish does it and how very much NOT THAT this version is, but now it's kinda just grooving. I like.

Not a fan of the genre, but this song sounds great and would fit in an SDP concert perfectly, and the audience would probably love it. And, as somebody already stated: this chorus works surprisingly well in German.

Having a completely different avatar has been interesting, to say the least. I have found it's a great way to experience an alternate reality. People speak differently to me when they assume my avatar mirrors my identity. I've experienced all kinds of racial and gender biases, simply based on what people _assume_ I look like. It's definitely been a learning experience for me. And any time I can learn something, it's a good day in my book. 👍

You can be open-minded but honest. I don't like it, even if Floor's on it.
That's right!! We are used to listen to common songs, so when we hear something different we can't accept That. Even some people who listen to only pop music, they don't like classical music like Pavarotti, Maria Callas and other great classical singers. Some of them called it "boring song", that's exactly what we use to do when we listen to something that I out of common, also we are used to listening to singers with big voices, so when we listen to singers who don't have a huge vocals we think they can't sing...

Musical tastes differ greatly, and people respond likewise. Music works at an emotional level (far more so than what most non-musicians think anyway...) and since a cover version, in a way, distorts that emotion you get more reactions from that area rather than rational...
There's basically no good or bad.
And yes, artists in general like to flex their wings when they get the chance (I know I do 😀)

@@BruderTux Do you think that Floor would have led her comment with, "Wow, so different from Nightwish," if she actually thought it was good? Floor knows a lot about music and salesmanship. She would never have used those words if she was proud of the result. A TV show forced her into experimental music choosen by another person. It didn't work. Telling her it is great when it is clearly awful is advice she does not need when she is branching out with new material. 90% of the comments are positive. Do you really believe this cacophony is actually good? It is good that she is experimenting, but this clearly isn't right for her. Telling her that it is good is wasting her time and our time as well.
@@Uuusssaaas you don’t get the concept of Sing meinen Song. It’s about artists having fun with each other’s music and create versions in their own style. Is the SDPs version of Amarath as good as Nightwish’s original? Of course not. But they took the time, tried to get the meaning of the song and put their understanding into their own lyrics and then presented it in their style. That it is different from the original is the whole fucking point of the show. Floor clearly appreciated their version during the show, just look at her eyes. Her management was present during the recording, do you really think that she would let her be forced into something?
SMS invited Floor to showcase that Metal is more than angry men with long hairs. So can we please not show the world that the cliche is right?

I've always wanted to hear Floor do a cover of "Painkiller" by Judas Priest. 2:49 makes me think she would actually do an awesome job at it.
I was scrolling to find who spoke bad of this. Defiantly a person who is not a musician. I found it incredible, like a trip, as music should also feel. And the female voice sining in those high notes- wow, I loved- which I assume is Floor? Loved it (definitely different).
Even sdp's lyrics meaning is pretty good. The male vocals are good too. Well i dont like "are you ready" part, but overall i give this 80/100
