I love that they changed Henry and Sam to this type of storyline and character and ideas compared to the game but we still get the most heartbreaking death out of the entire franchise
There's something to be said about the infection being a "good" mutation for Sam. If he turns into a clicker, he can get his hearing back as echolocation. But that's only IF he's right about people still being in there.
Sam and Henry are probably one of the hardest, yet beautiful stories of the game. I like the added touch of Sam being deaf and nearly dying from leukemia. It adds more weight to their story.
@@wooshbait36 lmao they’re definitely not child’s games. The bloater that ripped Perry’s head off last night does that to your face in the game if he catches you 😂
idk about leukemia, I don't think that's as curable with any sort of "miracle drug" or something, sure it's a show with zombies, killer fungus etc, but still, they could've just gave him a more believable disease imo, pneumonia or something.
Knowing the story and the fate of Henry and Sam from the game made this hurt even so much more from the start. The moment you were so happy about seeing Sam, I knew this is gonna be hard 😢
The big guy is what’s called a Bloater: the 4th end stage of the Cordyceps infection who’s host’s body has survived 10+ years and has been completely engulfed by the fungi. Not all Clickers become Bloaters due to them dying to elemental exposure but the ones that do become THAT. In the games, you only encounter Bloaters inside buildings or tunnels, places that protect them from the weather which makes them (thankfully) very rare!
I have a son who loves to draw superheroes and a daughter who communicates with a tablet. For a post-apocalyptic zombie video game, I am finding this show extremely relatable.
@Woosh Bait according to the director they wanted Sam deaf because it creates another level of depth to the character that displayed this dependence and bond these children had for one another.
@Woosh Bait Acording to an interview you can find on youtube, what you just said is not true. They wrote the TV role for a deaf child. Thats according to them. See Here: ruclips.net/video/GtMnpyNy7R0/видео.html&ab_channel=HBOMax
The zombie wave bursting out the ground was like the Goblins in Moria or something out of World War Z. The big infected is a bloater it's from years of infection Wouldn't be surprised if the actors of Sam & Henry win some awards for this. RIP Sam and Henry 🙏 Great reaction Magy 😃👍
I just loved the fact that the actor that played Sam was actually deaf and that all actors and set personnel willingly learned ASL to communicate with him on and off the set
I knew what was going to happen, but they still got me. Sam's beautiful innocence had to be protected. And Henry's earnestness to keep his brother safe... The acting has been top notch in this show.
I'm impressed your makeup held up. Some cosmetics companies need to be sponsoring your watching of this series. "How are they that fast?" 17:24-17:26 Assuming the sniper was Anthony, the person Kathleen was speaking to on the walkie-talkie, he probably reported by radio as soon as he saw them, long before he took his first shot. So Kathleen's people were already on the way. when at 17:07-17:15 she said "Anthony. Hold them where they are, we're almost there" so they were already on the way. After hearing that on the radio, Joel tried yelling to Ellie, Henry and Sam to run, but they likely didn't hear it, or couldn't be sure it was Joel. 21:13-21:16 "What is that?" Well, you can find what it's called in the closing credits. But remember Episode 2, when Ellie was asking about types of infected and asked if there "were giant super infected" and Tess replied "God, I hope not!" ?
Ellie and Joel switch sides at the end. That was the Tess moment from episode 2. Ellie runs ahead while Joel is still waiting at the grave. Tess gave Joel a mission he wanted to fulfill as her last wish. The relationship that Joel had with Tess was similar to Ellie and Sam. Ellie promised Sam the cure here and couldn't keep this promise. She now wants to make sure that this never happens again. As Tess said at the time "save who you can save". Ellie really has a mission now. Indirectly get through her feelings of guilt. She wants her blood to work. Before that, she was someone who had no control over anything. Others have determined where she grows up and where she has to go now. Now that has changed. Now conviction plays a role and she takes control. She wants to save the world so that there are no more Sam's. And while Joel gradually finds his humanity again and lets people into his life again, Ellie loses a little more of herself and she takes the lead here in the end. In addition, Ellie and Joel have reached a new level of connection with each other. Wordless understanding. Both wanted to save the brothers during the attack. That wasn't Joel's "don't do it Ellie" look. That was the look "I'll give you fire protection Ellie". And Ellie has absolute confidence in Joel. There was also a little joke about the game. The moment when the sniper shot and Henry and Sam senselessly ran out of cover, only to return immediately. This is how Ellie behaved very often in the game. She was AI-controlled and she liked to do it. She ran out of cover, right in front of the enemy and then back again. 😁
Every time you smiled at Sam and Ellie having fun, being friends, I was just dreading the inevitable ending for Sam and Henry that I knew would happen.
To be honest the first time I saw it, I didn't cry, it was more like an emotional blow to me, my heart raced from one second to another. I was shocked, in my mind I was processing it and I kept repeating to myself "it can't be" "what?" "why?" "godammit"
This episode was beautiful with the bond of Henry and Sam and their background story but also so depressing towards the end. The fact they chose for Sam to be deaf in the show was even more sad in a way. Even the actor is deaf which is crazy because he really delivered in this role! Not just Sam's actor but Henry's as well really delivered these roles man! Sam was just so wholesome behind the scenes it made me tear up more. I hope this opens many doors for their careers!
This show just keeps getting better and better and knows how to not to pull it's punches to the feels ❤️👏 Actor's better get awards for this Proformace 💯
This was a great episode, and wonderful reaction again! "I don't trust the series" made me laugh. But big hugs all around. Thank you. You were the first reactor to get that this was basically the trolley problem. One person vs 5 people. Actively kill that one person vs passively killing that one person, is there a difference? If you kill someone to save someone you really love, should we judge you kinder even though the end result is someone innocent is dead. Both Kathleen and Henry died at the end because of their love for their brother, both because they went to their extreme form of love, vengeful love and self-sacrificing love respectfully. Oh, Ellie's belief that she could cure Sam made it so much more painful. I think she genuinely believed that it would work. She is a child, she has been told over and over that she is a cure, she has no understanding about how a cure would be made so it makes sense that she thinks it could be relatively simple... Oh, so sad. She apologized at the grave. When Tess died, Ellie hung around to grieve, while Joel shoved his emotions down grimly and pressed on. This time it was Joel who lingered and Ellie who left. He is becoming more emotional, and she is becoming colder/more traumatized. I also think she left so fast because the faster they leave, the sooner there will be a cure. The sooner that will never happen again (in a child's mind). Also, Joel and Henry mocked "endure and survive." Henry survived but couldn't endure. Both parts are important. Sam also faced the window. Two things: He knew he wouldn't see Ellie, which means he wouldn't attack her. He was protecting her. As he felt himself turn, he knew he wouldn't hear her. If he couldn't see her, he wouldn't know she was there and thus couldn't attack her. Also, it has been confirmed over the years of the game that runners DO have the person in their head. So Sam was in there when he attacked Ellie. Something to think of though -> If Ellie never touched him, if no one ever touched him or got in his vision, he would be sitting there forever watching the sunset. He's deaf, so he wouldn't hear anything. Once he hit the clicker phase, and he could no longer see, then he would be sitting there in darkness and silence forever. Fun Facts: Joel collects the comic books in the game for Ellie. Cordyceps is one of the fungi that is composed of chitin; crustaceans and a lot of arthropods also have a lot of chitin in their exoskeleton. As the infected get worse and worse (covered in more and more of the fungus), you can kind of think of it as having more and more armor/exoskeleton.

I think it’s important you get attached to characters Mag, it’s what makes it great storytelling. That’s why it hits much harder when they die, but you can’t give up hope on people. That’s sort of what this whole thing is about…it’s the last of us…and you need to hang onto who’s left. Having to kill your own little brother would be devastating especially since I have a little brother, I’d probably do the exact same thing. I think it’s called “The Last of Us” for a really good reason. Everyone they come in contact with dies. If i were Joel’s Brother, i’d run far away lol.
imagine living in a zombie world knowing there are zombies cant be killed by regular 5.56 or 7.62 and when you bring 50 people with you and not a single genius thinks to attach a grenade launcher to all those M16 or bring a flamethrower. they take down FEDRA so they did had access to their weapons stockpile.
Hi magy thank you once again for another awesome reaction video😊❤️👍. I really loved the episode and it was definitely freakin sad , the infected had me on edge throughout the whole episode and when they finally came out the ground they gave me the chills. The deaths of Henry and Sam broke my heart definitely but away from that I really enjoyed the episode for sure.
I know I'm way late with this, I was not expecting you (Magy) to be watching this show. But anyways, here is what the social groups are in this world. Infected, QZ zones runned by what's left of the government, Fireflies anti- gov whome still believes in finding a cure, then the Hunters/Raiders/cults. Stages of Infection.#1. Runners- which was shown in the beginning of episode 1. #2. Clickers- uses echolocation and are only able to hear. #3. Stalkers- somewhat intelligent by only hunting in dark areas and sometimes at night, but mostly dangerous if in the cities. & #4. Bloaters- as you saw in this EP. They've been infected for a long time, and as you saw is like a juggernaut. And another surprise they can do but, I'm not gonna say.
What? I thought that HBO was doing new episodes every Sunday. Ohhh, I guess they released it early because they didn't want to compete with the Superbowl?
AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN that was definitely my reaction the first time I played the game it was like TOO MUCH At least Kathleen Fate was deserved "Kids die Henry" ten minutes later she got kicked by a child clicker haha
i know 90% of people watching did the deep cry side eye shut while we hold our face and scream FUCKING NO... Henry almost got Sam out... Henry did everything he could and holy fuck the way his and sam story ended was tragic. I was hurt. HBO shot me in the soul with that one, took a solid 5 years off my lifespan.
I'd like to learn more about the young blond actress they got to play the child clicker. Her part was very well choreographed. No apologies are needed for crying. I cried too. I'm sure most did. I needed time to compose my feelings as well. I think this world needs more people like us rather than people that don't have those reactions. Otherwise... we lose. That split-second yelp/scream Ellie did just as Henry shot himself, that is when I lost it.
I just want the final chapter to come! , That is the reaction that I most hope to see! The final dialogue........the final dialogue (of the Game and Probably series) will break you
It was heartbreaking to watch your reaction knowing what would happen 💔. The more you became attached to them, the closer I became to crying my eyes out. Henry and Sam’s story just breaks me 😭
Henry and Sam story is the most heartbreaking part of the game compared to the first part of the game where Joel's daughter dies ❤️ I do like the change they did for the TV show where Ellie used her blood to try to save Sam in the game he basically goes to sleep and wakes up turned into one of the infected and she doesn't know that he's infected Big different storyline but everything goes the same in the game what Henry has to do to his little brother most heartbreaking thing in the game It sucks that you we get attached to certain characters and then it ends up breaking our hearts In the game I was not expecting Henry to die the way he did it broke my heart the first time I played the game same for Sam no one wins in this show and the game
Get used to it sweatheart - the end of the show is gonna be a blast… P.S.: although i knew what would happen to Sam and Henry, my reaction was the same as yours
GAME SPOILER: > > > Joel and Ellie never mention Sam and Henry again in the series. It subtly shows how traumatic it was for both of them because that's how they both deal with their most painful feelings by bottling it up inside. EDIT: actually Ellie does try to bring it up in the game but Joel shuts it down like he did with Tess.
Pedro and Bella are great..But i cant believe we were supposed to believe Kathleen from Yjackets would actually be the leader of some badass resistance group lol that was ruining the show for the group i watch with so glad she gone.

"How are they there that fast?" 😅
I think it’s called “The Last of Us” for a really good reason. Everyone they come in contact with dies. If i were Joel’s Brother, i’d run far away lol.
Yeah, it was the "I'm Sorry" that did it for me too.
The Perry character we saw was the original Tommy from the game.
The monster ( BIG ONE) infected you've seen is called "BLOATERS "
Hugs Magy. No one ever gets used to it, unless they are numb to the real world.
imo, this episode alone will go down as a historical reference for future writers and directors. Like wow.
Story telling at its finest🤌🤌🤌 (chef's kiss; mwah)
It was heartbreaking when I play the game. Then this part shows up in the episode. Hurts even more. Ellie's reaction towards Henry broke me =(
You sound like Jennifer Coolidge at times, I could not stop laughing 😂
We all still live with the fear on some level but we don’t let it ever win
Your eyebrow ,your eyes, your mouth n your nose Wonderful Magy 💖💖💖💖 n your beauty hair 💖
17:02 look at those warewovles nails lmao.
What happened to Henry and Sam was almost exactly like the game except Sam wasn't deaf fun fact the actor who played Sam is actually deaf irl
6:22 The reflection of the laundry shop’s orange strip lines up with Henry’s face, making it look like Sam’s face paint!
I'm in love with Magy's accent. 😍 Subbing.👍
imagine living in a zombie world knowing there are zombies cant be killed by regular 5.56 or 7.62 and when you bring 50 people with you and not a single genius thinks to attach a grenade launcher to all those M16 or bring a flamethrower.
they take down FEDRA so they did had access to their weapons stockpile.
Sam was Henry's first kill
Man I wanted to buy the game and give it a jam because of the show - now I'm like ayy am I going to cry during the game lol
Ye lol and the 2nd one if you get to it.
Yes you will
What? I thought that HBO was doing new episodes every Sunday. Ohhh, I guess they released it early because they didn't want to compete with the Superbowl?
Wdym mean they are fast? They said that they are almost there which means they are already communicating when they were spotted
I loved this episode! It was sad, though.
In the game Sam is around Ellie's age.
best episode so far love it
Yeah, this show is excellent other than the gay scenes
@@wooshbait36 sack up
@@wooshbait36 oh grow up.
@@gSWG3R What does this have to do with my age?
@@wooshbait36 You're behaving like a little child.
Dammit. Forgot this week was early release. "I'll be back." (Arnold voice)
AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN that was definitely my reaction the first time I played the game it was like TOO MUCH
At least Kathleen Fate was deserved "Kids die Henry" ten minutes later she got kicked by a child clicker haha
i know 90% of people watching did the deep cry side eye shut while we hold our face and scream FUCKING NO...
Henry almost got Sam out... Henry did everything he could and holy fuck the way his and sam story ended was tragic. I was hurt. HBO shot me in the soul with that one, took a solid 5 years off my lifespan.
Great Reaction video Magi EP5 was really awesome n epic
I'd like to learn more about the young blond actress they got to play the child clicker. Her part was very well choreographed.
No apologies are needed for crying. I cried too. I'm sure most did. I needed time to compose my feelings as well. I think this world needs more people like us rather than people that don't have those reactions. Otherwise... we lose.
That split-second yelp/scream Ellie did just as Henry shot himself, that is when I lost it.
so good this serie.... Love this... like your reaction
Henry and Sam’s story just breaks me 😭
Henry and Sam story is the most heartbreaking part of the game compared to the first part of the game where Joel's daughter dies ❤️
I do like the change they did for the TV show where Ellie used her blood to try to save Sam in the game he basically goes to sleep and wakes up turned into one of the infected and she doesn't know that he's infected Big different storyline but everything goes the same in the game what Henry has to do to his little brother most heartbreaking thing in the game
It sucks that you we get attached to certain characters and then it ends up breaking our hearts
In the game I was not expecting Henry to die the way he did it broke my heart the first time I played the game same for Sam no one wins in this show and the game
❤️❤️❤️❤️ best best best last of us 🔥
SAM ONG IM GONNA CRY 😭😭😭😭😭☹️☹️☹️ HE JUST MET A NEW FRIENDD 😭😭😭😭😭☹️☹️☹️☹️🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺☹️☹️☹️😭😭😭
your such a caring person ,your suppost to get attatched . that is what makes a great show . keep being yourself ,your such a beautyful person .
I've been waiting all morning for this 🤗
Hi miss Maggie 😊Hope you’re doing well 😀🌸
Yey! Love these reactions
I play game and i know what coming, but it was hard.
Get used to it sweatheart - the end of the show is gonna be a blast…
P.S.: although i knew what would happen to Sam and Henry, my reaction was the same as yours
The sad thing is that Henry's first kill is his brother.
Let's go
i mean what a scene, ripping his head off
Again
They did it again
GAME SPOILER:

Joel and Ellie never mention Sam and Henry again in the series. It subtly shows how traumatic it was for both of them because that's how they both deal with their most painful feelings by bottling it up inside. EDIT: actually Ellie does try to bring it up in the game but Joel shuts it down like he did with Tess.
Magy I'm halfway all the time
Really nice reaction
❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
I guess Magy speaks perfect Russian.
HBO series. Reminds too much Game of thrones traumas 😭
Now you understand why this game is so massively revered. It will rip you apart emotionally.
21:14 That my friend is a bloater, this is what happens if you're infected for so long.
Pedro and Bella are great..But i cant believe we were supposed to believe Kathleen from Yjackets would actually be the leader of some badass resistance group lol that was ruining the show for the group i watch with so glad she gone.
Karen soccer mom was annoying me glad she got got.
Best episode by far!
