- Starting an OM314 Mercedes Diesel. Running on 100% Biodiesel fuel. Small amount of smoke / soot at idle. Smoke clears when motor is at full operation temperature. Outside air temperature was 26.7 ºC

Sounds good, but that low oil pressure at cold idle would concern me. It should have much higher PSI than what your gauge was showing.
Hello, I recently got blessed with a 608 D. I want to know how did you made it run with Biodiesel? Did you change something on the engine or elsewhere? And how did you get that biodiesel? Thank you very much.
The Mercedes-Benz OM314 Direct Injection engine will run happily on Biodiesel with no modifications. It is advisable to mix with 50% petro-diesel when ambient temperatures are below 10ºc. The fuel that this engine was running on in this video was made from waste cooking oils collected from kitchens. The process is well documented in numerous places online. If you live on the western coast of the United States (California, Oregon, Washington) it is easy to find commercial fuel stations in major metropolitan areas that sell Biodiesel on the pump.

@@jobambiflatetbaas6301 Not advisable. Modern "Low Sulfer" diesel will kill these engines. it does not provide proper lubrication. Add 10% biodiesel, or 5ml of Automatic transmission fluid per liter to add lubricity, and ensure that it won't kill your OM314!
