    Am I dreaming? I'm from the Philippines who moved to Italy (9years ago) but I've always been fascinated by French culture and been learning French for a while now. I discovered Paul Taylor through his "Franglais" videos, been following Nathaniel for two years now and they're collabing. Oh what a time to be alive! Grazie! ❤️

    I still remember when you were on Luke's podcast a few years back talking about you were lost, and couldn't figure out the meaning of life(sth like that). I thought you guys apparently had everything sorted, having a great career, around with best friends, to me as an outsider you had an awesome life. I thought I was the only few who was lost and struggling to find some clear purposes in life. Thank you Paul for sharing and it's incredible how young Nathaniel is and already reflecting and asking deep questions. Have him on more please!

    Man I enjoyed this episode so much. Thank you Paul for all the english you're teaching me with your videos.
    Actually enfourner means like the action of putting something in the oven and it's not related with fourrer. So the closest spanish translation i can think about is like hornear which means to cook something with an oven.

    Incredible setup you got going there, was contemplating the rode podmic, think you've sold it to me on the way you aesthetically placed it in this shot... mind if I ask what recorder setup you have going? Focusrite/rodecaster etc? You have my attention, sub'd!

      @PaulTaylorsHappyHour  3 года назад +3

      Hey! Thanks, I’ve put a lot of effort (and money) into it 😁. The mics are plugged into a Zoom H5 recorder. The rodecaster I think would make the sound even better as they have presets for podmics but it’s too expensive and too big to fit on my desk but I’ve definitely thought about it! Cheers

    En France"capoter" peut vouloir dire quelque chose comme "gâcher". Quand quelque chose était prévu mais qu'un événement vient empêcher que les choses se passent comme prévu.
    Exemple : "On avait organisé l'anniversaire surprise de notre ami, mais tu as tout fait capoter : tu as gâché la surprise en lui disant"

    Random comments:
    - putting in an oven is enfourner. fourrer is unrelated to ovens.
    - I've used and heard icitte in France without knowing it was a thing in Quebec (and I'm French)
    - in French capoter means to fail.

    I can't speak any French at all, the only languages I speak are English natively and German conversationally. I do, however, know some French swear words. Thanks to Rolly, most of the French swear words I know are Quebecois 😂😂

      Believe me, swearing with a “kriss” or a “tabarnacle” has a whole different effect than “putain, ça fait chier” in standard French (fuck, that makes me shit)

    i say y fais frette when its colder than cold , quand y fait plus froid que un froid tolérable ,,,disons que '' froid '' ce tolérable, ici au qc mais quand tu dit ''frette'' ce comme un froid moins tolérable, ici au qc on comprend instinctivement ces nuances et si tu ajoute un sacre après frette, ce deviens solidement très froid , '' fait frette en esti !! ''on parle de -30 et plus' '' fait frette en esti, coliss de tabarnak! '' ( y doit faire genre -40 - 50 a t'entendre .... mais tu me dit ,, ''froid '' moi jai -15 -25 en tête,,,.. si tu me dit '' c'est frisquet ,'' c'est encore une coche en dessous de froid,, j'm'attend a un -5 -10 , un p'tit vent de rien .... ou juste un 5-0 avec un vent '' frisquet''
    pour ici et icitte, ya une petite nuance aussi,,, j'pense que Boucard Diouf , humoriste , a déjà fait un truc la dessus,,, en gros, '''ici'' ce ici dans les environs immédiats de ta position... disons que autours de ...hmmm... 2 - 3 ou 4 mètres autour de toi cest ""ici,'' mais ''icitte'' ce vraiment , ''a tes pieds'' genre '' fait moi pas courir mon esti!!'' si jte dit '' viens icitte!!!, mon sacrament!!'' cest vient a moins de 1 mètres de moi, je veux pouvoir t'atrapper... petite nuance de quelques mètres .
    pour ''chum'' oui ce utiliser en voulant parler d'un amant, un amoureux, ... mais des amis , s'ils sont des amis proches, ils seront réafféré comme ''des chums'' .. quelques meilleur amis de gars= mes chums de gars, les fille utilise la spécification ''de filles'' quand elle parles de leurs chums de filles, leurs amies. En général, si on se connais pas et qu'on se rencontre , je suis un gars, tu est un gars , et en parlant je te dit'' mes chums arrivent,, '' ou '' mes chums et moi on est aller...'' ... ... je fait pas référence a une orgie gay hahaha ... mais en écoutant le reste du contextes de toute façons tu comprendra assez vite si chums referre a un amant ou a des amis proches...

    the funniest thing is that here is quebec, the french language is mostly closer to the ''real'' original french,aside from the tweekings we did a some extents,,, i dont remember where i read that maybe Nota Bene on RUclips i realy dont remember but that marked me, apparently fr from france is less like the original than the french from quebec, (i mean, a qc fr who spoke ''well'' without exagerated accents and a ''personal way'' to speak, if you take a well educated quebecois , he should speak in a standard well spoken french even tho compared to a FR french is would still appears weird i guess,,, but if u get to speak with ppls who don't slang much , and dont contract words too much , it'll be much clearer'' ) ... look that up :)
