  • Malaysia has emerged as a preferred destination for mainland Chinese parents to send their children for further studies. Many are also taking up residence in the country for the sake of their children's education. Almost half of the new intake of international students at Malaysian universities this year come from China. According to the Education Ministry, over 44,000 mainland Chinese students enrolled in universities across Malaysia this year. This number has quadrupled since 2020 and is expected to continue rising, despite the recent increase in tuition fees. Melissa Goh reports.

    1. Tuition fee and living cost in Malaysia is more affordable. You can get a UK degree at Malaysia
    2. Malaysians are more friendly compared to sg
    3. Culturally, Malaysia has a high influence of Chinese culture so it is easier to adapt, including mandarin-speaking community
However I think Malaysian education quality need to be improved

Actually you can get Uk and Aussie degrees in Sg too. But Singaporeans, unlike Malaysians, tend to perceive external degrees less favourably. Sg students prefer to study overseas if they want Uk and Aussie degrees. In any case, Singaporeans still regard an external degree obtained in Sg as better than any degree obtained in Malaysia. 😂.

The world nowadays already have class segregation formed. Meaning if your family background and parents are doing good you will do good too unless you don't want it. If you don't have this background condition then it means good luck to you even if you slough your arse off at work or studies. As long as anything can give you a visa where you can have long term stay in a country where you can further upgrade it to citizenship or a spring board to jump elsewhere you will have people going for it.
They see certain places as desired and preferential not necessarily because the things in it are the best. They just want a place to settle down and begin anew where they can see hope in life and breathe easier again. Malaysia is actually quite a nice place for retirement and balance pace of living as long as you are upper middle class in the world population.
Singapore lost these people appeal and support because despite all the endless self trumpeting and myth making Singapore government and die hard fans made the fact remain Singapore is too out of reach and relentless for them to live comfortably in by now.
