I honestly thought he would have been in the game for sure after that, but I guess Sakurai just didn't see potential in him. My theory is that he would have thought he'd be too similar to Duck Hunt.

+Just another Hank Hill Account, As soon as they added Bayonetta, though, I was confused. If fan service truly triumphed, they would've added Rool or Isaac. Then again, the dumb internet probably voted Goku and Shrek up, which Sakurai obviously ignored since they went against ballot rules.
Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE for Goku to be in, but the chances of that would've only been if he had a SIGNIFICANT standing in the votes where Sakurai would have no choice but to make an exception to.
I honestly wish they just added Takamaru instead of Duck Hunt. That way, Banjo would have been considered at least.
It was probably too late, at this point. They'd definitely decided Cloud a long time ago, since he's got nothing to do with Nintendo's history at all. Corrin happened because Smash had that trend since Melee to have a character from Fire Emblem appear before their game itself, and all that was left was the ballot, which Bayonetta won.

It's not that people take them seriously, it's just that they're overdone.
I found them amusing at first but god damn did they become annoying.

TheAmazingL1nk3rz as untrue as they are they can still be entertaining, unless im excluded from that equation..... (then again i do like project M more than 4 and melee) my initial reaction to seeing and playing melee was, where is buffering, where are the combos that feel like combos, and why the hell is this game so broken and people always argue and say that it isn't, cause it is, and unlike project M it wasnt meant to be broken.
My reaction when I first played Smash 4 was
-Why the hell is there buffering. I keep inputting extra inputs and it's messing my game up
-Why do people think the same true combos are better than the free flowing combos in Melee. It gets old doing the same thing to tack up percent.
-Diddy Kong best character
-Everyone moves fast but it still feels restrictive not enough movement.
-Why the hell can't Marth d-tilt out of a full dash
-Air dodging is dumb
-Ledge mechanics are stupid
-Recoveries are too strong
-Ledge Mechanics are REALLY stupid
-Going back to Melee
Of course I adapted but playing Smash 4 just didn't feel right. Still doesn't feel right on some occasions but I just prefer Melee more. PM is meh.
1 the inputs that you planned to do should just go out, whatever it is get used to it, at least this ist darksouls buffering where 2 or three actions will go out regardless of what you decide later on
2 they feel like they actually work, with melee i feel like they should be able to get out of whatever it is your doing, and the combos feel more like strings if anything else and just dont feel right, it might just be me though

4 that seems like a personal thing, i kinda see where your coming from as you dont have as many options

6 yes it is arguably less punishable, but still can be predicted and punished when you get used to it, especially the ones that do so after every lost neutral interaction, i still see where you're coming from though and i can see why you'd find it an issue.
7 how many times did you not grab ledge when you should've in melee, and grabbing ledge just stops the opponents from doing so anyway (melee), you can do similiarly with trumping but you can punish that too, some characters are better than others at that though.
8 they are pretty safe yes, at least most of them, clouds only really huge point of weakness is his up b, more than what you can truly say for fox who has kinda one counter (it goes back and foward all the time) and is good in almost every way, though cloud still has way to much imo.

When I saw my first match on youtube (Ppmd vs armada at evo) I just can't see a shit.
Now, after a lot of tournaments and streams I look at it without trouble.
(Also, doubles are like hell when you are new into the scene)
I find this amazing and I play 4 more than Melee, we can love both games guys.
My favorite part of Melee is playing with items on poke floats :)

I miss Melee. I can't decide which is my favorite!!!!
On one hand, I haven't played Melee in 3 years! I've been Playing Smash 4 online since day one at least 5 days a week. On the other hand, the same could be said for Melee BEFORE smash 4!
Hell! The only time I didn't play Melee was when I lost my first copy (that was a looong two years), broke my second copy, (another loooong 6 months) and bought Brawl. (Once I finished Subspace and unlocked everything, went back to Melee.)
In total, I probably put about:
500 hours into Smash 64 (thanks to Block Buster and my 6th Birthday)
5000 Hours into Melee (couldve been more if I hadn't lost my first two copies)
1000 hours into Brawl (I played the hell put of it, simultaneously with Melee until Smash 4)
And 3000 hours in Smash 4 Wii U (all online, maybe about 30 hours tops on the single player stuff/local multiplayer)
And maybe about 60 hours on Smash 3DS (half those hours online only)
If Melee HD ever comes out, and it has online battles..... Goodbye free time! ❤️

It just has a lack of animations and moves that cancel into each other in a way that any other fighting game on the planet would consider unacceptable. Yes, a move that gives massive hitstun and is able to cancel into itself while giving a hitbox that covers the entire model is super balanced and fun to fight against. Also the moves hitbox is twice as big as what the animation lets on. And most of the tech that involves move cancels can't be performed without a defective controller that can cost over 300 bucks.

Melee took a while before it was really all that popular. Remember, its popularity really only exploded to its current height as of 2013. A full 12 years after the release of the game, and it's only now been experiencing popularity.
The main reason being the fact that there is a massive amount of tech in the game. Wavedashing, shining, grab combos, etc. Meanwhile, Sm4sh has only had less than 3 years to discover tech, and only 3 years to produce high level players. Like I said, Smash 4 will surpass melee, but it's going to be a few years while people learn how to break the game for competitive advantage.
The game is popular due to brawl's player base moving to sm4sh, which is the reason brawl is dead.
Also, sm4sh's fighting engine is to slow and the game is coded to well making the game impossible to break and even if there were exploits to find, they would just patch them out.
Also, your argument is basically irrelevant, as your viewerbase and playerbase is declining anyway.
The game is coded too well for people to find exploits? There is no game on this planet that holds that title.
Not to mention, what evidence do you have that the 'fighting engine' is too slow?
