I love this coin very much as well. Decent piece of work to hollow it out. The ghost of George V disappeared and the ghost of Victoria entered.
A very interesting "magic coin", thanks for sharing!
Fascinating coin. Double Tailed maybe 🤔 Thanks for Sharing Paul 👍
Interesting to think these coins minted 17+ years apart would one day find each other
😮 I’m going with the espionage theme 🕵️ it needs to be double hallowed out as whatever goes inside it needs the space and weight. It also needs to be subtle enough to know which coin it is at the receiving end. Fantastic stuff 👏
At first I thought it may be some form of trench art from the first world war, lots of similar pieces like that. However on second glance could be anyone's guess! A very interesting coin, thanks for the video!
Interesting coin indeed , never seen one before. Thanks Edward and CP
Pretty cool, and good of Edward to give to you to enable you to make this video
Great stuff 👍🏻
Very interesting coin. Thank for sharing
Thank for showing us Paul that was very unusual cheers. 👍🇦🇺👍
Paul I really enjoyed this video great explanation 👍👍👍
Very interesting not something I'd normally say about one of your videos 😂 but it was so 👌
Simply cool... great fun to do some heads or tails flips!!
I wasn't expecting that, even with the video title, before you showed the edge view I thought a mule, but the time gap was too big.
The word Oddity springs to mind. I like videos like this
A nice novelty. have found a couple of these in hunts, including just a half.
Nice. A possible apprentice engineering piece?. Instructor challenging his students to set up their lathes correctly. 1918 the war was still on and armaments factories were working full tilt.
I have a 1797 two pence which has been made into a box. Inside it's inscribed with the initials of two people and dated 15 February 1842. A love token?
I’ve just finished reading Les Miserables, and there is a scene where Jean Valjean uses a hollowed out coin containing something to help him! (No spoilers!)
I've seen Kennedy half dollars done the same way with a Mexican coin inside or empty. Very cool magic coin or microfilm spy coin. Always a mystery
You have to give credit to whoever did this, as it looks quite hard to do. It could have passed as a normal coin if not for that larger edge preventing both to fit snug together. Could have been used by spies towards the end of WW1 to pass info.
I was thinking along the line... Maybe used by the SOE
My uncle had a few of these including a brass threepenny bit he did magic tricks
I think it's a magicians coin
being a entertainer for a number of years I've seen various coin tricks 😉😉😉
You can imagine these slipping through to POWs during ww2 with maps inside or coded messages. Or have I been watching too many B&W war films?
Wow lovely 👍👍
👍😎👍
Lol I thought they only did that to coins here 😊
How very neat!
I like it, whatever the reason someone took the time to do it.
Interesting.👍
Itg must have been used to carry microfiche. Shame they couldn't two coins closer than twenty years apart.
Being a retired toolmaker l know that would have taken some skill to do that. Holding the soft material of the coin in a vice or lathe chuck without damaging it would have been difficult.
That is so cool.
I have an 1918 penny in UNC condition m what is it worth today ?
Someone had a sense of humour
The color of the metal looks different as well.
Prop for magicians. I have seen similar before.
Looks like a stash coin possibly for contraband or spy information..???
007 would of used it to pass secrets on micro film, I really watch to much TV ! Lol !!
Bizarre. I wonder why the person who do it?
If I have the 1918 Penny what value would that be George the Fifth
i have the casing of a threepence thought they where solid
where u gone
I have this coin
I have many that
I can tell they have been turned down on a lathe by an amateur, possibly used for contraband, snuff or used to hide another more valuable coin ... silver or sovereign. The stories these coins could tell us 👍🥋
Could you make one Dan? With a £2 coin for example?
I have 3 of this coins 1919_1916_and 1948
It is becoming a problem these days with people making fake errors in the shed with a Dremel
I have at one 1918
Time for
