SM artists are some of the most followed and mobbed sadly, so they get trained in airport management, that's why at airports you will see them holding on to each other (like on the shoulder), sticking close together, keeping their heads down (mostly only the one in the front has his head up and smiles sometimes because of the media and reporters), walk quickly if possible and usually not accept any gifts (some fans have hurt the artist or themselves trying to push gifts and letters in their faces). This is not because they don't want your gift or rudeness, but because it's safer for everyone. Also: a packed airport and fans pushing and screaming is NOT an appropriate place to give gifts. They have fanmeetings for this and SM also has an adress you can send gifts (if the artists allow this since some artists are not accepting gifts anymore in general). Sometimes if it's calmer and with less people, some artists do accept letters or flowers, but usually management tells them not to on principle so as to not motivate other fans to follow and copy such behaviour
