  • Meet the 10 largest marine dinosaurs that inhabited the planet. It is worth mentioning that these are not exactly dinosaurs but marine reptiles, but they are known because they shared the same period as the dinosaurs, they even have the saurian ending in their names.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    -SHASTASAURUS
This genus of the Shastasauridae family and the ichthyosaurs order, it is the largest marine reptile ever found.
    -MOSASAURUS
The mosasaur or mosasaurus is a genus of the mosasauridae family, a group of extinct aquatic lizards and carnivores that, as we have seen, also involved the Tylosaurus and the hainosaurus.
    -SHONISAURUS
It was a genus of the Shastasauridae family that belonged to the Ictiosauria order that, like the order of the Plesiosauria, descended from reptiles.
    -PLIOSAURUS
It is a genus of the Pliosauradae family and the Plesiosauria order composed of six species that lived between 155 and 147 million years ago, in the middle and late Jurassic periods in the seas surrounding what is Europe and South America today.
    -ELASMOSAURUS
It is a genus of dinosaur that belongs to the Elasmosauridae family and the Plesiosauria order and that lived eighty million years ago, during the Cretaceous period in the Western Interior Seaway.
    -TYLOSAURUS
It is a genus of marine animals that belongs to the mosasauridae family. Its name means lizard of great protuberance.
    -HAINOSAURUS
It was a marine lizard genus that was part of the mosasauridae family. It lived at the end of the Cretaceous period. Its skull measured 4.9 feet and had jaws with more than 60 teeth.
    -THALASSOMEDON
It is a genus of Elasmosauridae, of the Plesiosauria order. It lived 95 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period, in what is now North America.
    -STYXOSAURUS
It is a Elasmosauridae family genus of the Plesiosauria order. It lived between 85 and 71 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period, in the seas that crossed and surrounded what is now the United States.
    -ALBERTONECTES
His name means Alberta swimmer. It was discovered thanks to mining excavations that were being carried out in the Bearpaw formation, in Alberta, Canada.
    -KRONOSAURUS
It measured from 29.5 to 34.4 feet in length and was approximately 6.5 feet in height. In total, it could weigh eleven tons.

    For those wondering about Liopleurodon...
--- Liopleurodon is a genus, not a species. Including it in this list would be comparable to making a list of great apes and simply entering "homo" to denote humans instead of "H. sapiens". It wouldn't make any sense.
--- The Liopleurodon genus contains two known species': L. pachydeirus & L. ferox.
--- L. ferox is the largest of the two, at ~6.4m (21 feet) in length and ~3,100 lbs. in weight...obviously nowhere near the qualification for this list.
The confusion about this genus is rooted mainly in the 1999 documentary mini-series "Walking with Dinosaurs". While the series was very well made overall, the creators exaggerated the size of L. ferox by a factor of almost four, and presented the genus as a species. The rarity of skeletal remains found from this genus has led many content creators to make wild speculations about the size, weight and behavior of its members; thus perpetuating the confusion.
Don't just believe whatever the TV/internet tells you, kids.
Question everything and do science right.

Sir, I’m afraid to dislike but, you have offended me.
    1: It’s marine reptiles, not Dino’s.
2: that tylosaur pic was from Jurassic world:the game, they always make it level 1-10,11-20,21-30,31-40 (max level)
Which they make dinosaurs look different on any level above 10.
3: you just can’t get some facts right.

This comment is informational and not meant to be rude: there were never any fully aquatic dinosaurs we know of besides Spinosaurus. The animal in the thumbnail is a mosasaurus which is a marine reptile and it’s closest living relatives are moniter lizards and snakes. Kronosaurus is an extinct genus of short-necked plesiosaur. With an estimated length of 9 to 10.9 meters and is a stem turtle which means it broke of of the turtles evolutionary line before they became true turtles. Albertonectus is a long-necked plesiosaur and is also a stem turtle not a dinosaur. Same with styxasaurus. Hainosaurus is also a mosasaur and is a marine reptile; it’s closest living relatives is snakes and moniter lizards. Same with tylosaurus. Elasmosaurus was a plesiosaur and was also a stem turtle. Pliosaurus is an extinct genus of thalassophonean pliosaurid and was also a short-necked Plesiosaur and was also a stem turtle.
Shonisaurus is an Ichthyosaurs which are large extinct marine reptiles. Ichthyosaurs belong to the order known as Ichthyosauria or Ichthyopterygia that are not dinosaurs. At various times, snakes and turtles have been proposed as their nearest living relatives. Though very fishy in body type for most of their history, Ichthyosaurs never developed gills. Instead, they breathed air like modern whales and dolphins so they can either be related to snakes like mosasaurs or turtles like plesiosaurs. As I said before, mosasaurus is related to moniter lizards and snakes and is not a dinosaur. Pliosaurus funkei, popularly known as Predator X, is a short necked plesiosaur and is also a stem turtle. Shastasaurus (“Mount Shasta Lizard") is an extinct genus of Ichthyosaur and can be either related to snakes or turtles and is not a dinosaur.

Oh and btw you should’ve put in the Archelon, it was pretty large too, weighing about 4,000 to 5,000 lbs, and even though it wasn’t that large, it’s length was about 12 to 15 feet or more and 13 feet from flipper to flipper.
