A super video showing how you made your stools. I love the fact that you pointed out your mistakes and how you made adjustments. That’s always a part of woodworking and people need to see the problem solving in action. The stools look like they are perfect for your balcony.
I love your narration while showing the steps. You share your experience in a way no other DIY personalities can. Thank you. :)
: ) That's great feedback, I'm glad you enjoy my style
April congrats on getting your first project done in the new shop!!! I can’t wait to start putting content out again, my shop is almost done too. Chairs came out awesome!!! Enjoy them and keep making !!! Love the videos
- Watching you work & own your "errors" reminds me of me. "It is what it is." Thanx 4 sharing. This is a truly nice project that could easily become an heirloom.
Way to go April, very nice job on the chairs. Really like your shop too. Keep up the good work and videos. Thanks for allowing all to come along for the ride.
I'm enjoying all your building projects... it's pretty inspiring to me... watching all helps me to do my own DIY furniture projects...KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING!... Thank you.
Thanks! Glad you are enjoying my channel. Thanks for watching.
I like your chair and the fact that you did five at once is awesome. Excellent use of the band Saw.
April loving seeing you enjoying your new shop. So so good to see you loving the space. You can hear the happiness and excitement in your voice :)
I'm so happy to see you complete your first project in your new workshop. These Adirondack Chairs are a great spin off of the original classic Adirondack Chairs. I'm sure these chairs will get a lot of use on your deck! Great Job April!
I am also a hobby builder and like to watch your videos to get new ideas.
You have a great passion and I love your smile, it makes me smile when I watch your videos.
Greetings from the Netherlands. Much love, Sander Kikkert.
Seeing you work in the new shop makes me so happy & proud off all that you have accomplished!
Love the new building however it’s great to see you building smaller projects too!! Great work!
Yes, it's a great change in pace.
A Glimpse Inside... Bravo
A Glimpse Inside I’m happy she’s back to projects I could do
Great chairs April and congrats on finishing the shop.
The seat slat over hang looks really good and the extra material will be much more stable in the long run. Looks like a height adjustable rolling random parts resting table dolly would be a handy next project
I congratulate you on the first work of the new workshop. Good job.....Looking forward to your next projects
Hands down April, you're AWESOME! :) You are so knowledgeable and competent and furthermore your methods of teaching and explaining what you are doing in your content is so easy to grasp and comprehend. In short, a testament to your teaching skills! Thank you for all of the great videos over the years! You are without a doubt one of my favorite RUclips personalities and I eagerly look forward to new videos from you! Please keep up the great work and best of luck and warmest wishes on your shop build!
Nice chairs April. Good to see your first build out of the new shop. All looks great. Hope to see you at the weekend at the NEC in England. Makers Central. Cheers Ade
It looks better with the seat slats hanging over a bit, and most of these types of chairs I've seen have a bit of overhang, so I can see why you thought it should be that way. Cool build. I like your improvisation with getting those weird angles to work with the equipment you have.
It was a very wonderful April this year.
Its not just that you do awesome work, but that there are no wasted steps in your describing your efforts and your editing is great!
Awesome first project in the new shop! It must feel so good to work in there
Great work! Thanks for taking the time to make, film, edit and share.
I have watched these videos for a while now and I noticed I haven't seen a new eps. in a few weeks. I looked at my subs and I couldn't find your channel... long story short I resubbed and RUclips needs to get it together. Thank you for everything you do.
Someone is in dire need of assembly tables. Love your workshop. I am so jelly. Great job!
Hey April your shop is looking great.
If I may suggest when doing half-lap joints, take it to the compound mitre saw and set the depth of cut. The put start and stop blocks at either end, set the mitre angle - the make 1/8 to 1/4" cuts all the way from start to finish. You'll be left with a bunch of little cards you can knock them out with a hammer.
You're then left with two options, smooth the rabbet with a chisel or router or my preference is to put them back on the saw and slide the rabbet between stops the saw blade will scrape the remaining ridges away and leave you with a nice smooth rabbet.
Hint when doing that, is to put a spacer against the fence a 2by is enough then you don't have to flip the work piece .
I bought 2 like these at Northern Tool. The wood may be less sturdy, but I don't have access to cool tools. I still enjoy watching you build!
How do you get dislikes for building a chair ??? My god people will hate on anything. .. keep up the great work girl ......
Right??!!
Their chair broke under their weight.
Nice! Thank you April and Rockler!
So informative, not boring and to the point, thanks for making and posting the videos you do they're all awesome and make me jealous
Great project. They look very comfortable. Well done
shop is awesome April and good to see you doing projects again. can't wait for the next one.
So much space, love the shop. You're going to be so fit running from machine to machine.
Cool project. I think the back needs more angle, maybe just personal preference. Love the new shop, glad to see ya working in it. Now you need real POWER!!!
I like how you have that half surprised half proud look on your face when you pull something off for the first time. Well done!
Turned out great. Nice to see work being done in the new shop.
It was great catching up on the shop build and cool to see your first project completed.
I think the overhang looks great, and having the legs inset into them adds a nice bit of a refinement.
Yes I actually think I prefer the look! But it was an unintentional change. : )
Nice work. I enjoy your honesty when making a mistake. I’ve been a woodworker for 55 years and it’s a rare project that works exactly as planned ...as I planned anyway. As a woman your age I’m surprised you didn’t go solar powered. If you do plan it I haven’t heard it mentioned in your podcasts.
You have a lot of years of projects in your future so solar is an investment that will pay for itself many times in your shop. Keep the great projects coming.
It is good you got power to your new shed, you need a few posters on your walls, from large companies that can pay you, like sport venues. Love your shed, hello from Victoria Australia.
Enjoyed watching your 1st build in your new shop congrats again! Perfect chairs for your porch, very nice!
Hey April, been watching your woodworking videos for awhile now, great vids. Love the new shop and how you got it laid out. Love the Adirondack chairs. Best wishes in your new shop.
Congrats on the new workshop and way to go on the chairs. ya still have time to make a chair to relax after all that. Nice. 👍
Thank you! These are gorgeous.
Went to Rockler, ordered plan and hardware, bragged on you!
Will try cypress for this.
Nice job April. They look great.
7:34 Big Shop!! Great project April and Rockler!
That is a super awesome chair you do awesome work April
It is so cool seeing you settle in the new shop! I'm excited to see what you are going to be able to do with the space.
I like the shop videos, but I am glad to see some project videos again... keep up the good work.
Yes, it's nice to be working IN the shop vs ON the shop. ; )
A great job on the 1st project in the new shop!
your shop is turning into quite the production factory. thanks for sharing.
I love that view! It's so uniquely Texas!
Ça fait plaisir de voir une vidéo de travail du bois,ça manquait bravo et merci
Great job kitting all those chairs April and I actually love that "ADDED FEATURE" of the 3/8" over hang on the sides of the seat! Great addition. Coming to Bay Area Makers Faire this year????? Been eyeing this project once I make the move to Oregon in a couple of months.
Looks great. I like your wedge trick on the bandsaw
I just found this channel and... I LOVE IT. Nothing like a lady who is independent and can handle all sorts of jobs on her own. I admire and respect that. SUBSCRIBED :P
That's like an Adirondack Directors Chair. You need your logo on the back. ;-) See you later this week.
Nice work on the tall Adirondack chairs April! Thanks for sharing the video with us.😎👍JP
Love those chairs. A bar I used to go to had almost the exact same chairs around the pool table, so I think they would be great in a rec room as well. Now let's hurry up and fill that metal working side of the shop up with some machines so I can see some more metalworking videos!
Great job on the chair the shops really looking nice
Nice job...When you mentioned the sanding all i could think of is "Sail Life" and Mads...."Sanding, Glorious Sanding". LOL
first build video from new workshop! so much space and the ability to work outside is a bonus!
I love working outside!
Brilliant April , dont the chairs look the bizz , wish the cedar was as readily avialable here , think your just so good at all you do , kindest regards , love the new shop
You did a great job. You are an inspiration to me. Your my new , New yankee workshop lol. You should think about putting a rocker on a couple of those. Love the way the shop is commIng along.
Chairs turned out great! Love the black shirt too! Look forward to the next video!
they turned out great!!!
Great project and some great looking chairs to boot. Loved that little dog jumping into mommy's lap! ;)
Good looking chairs and I bet your shop smelled great with all that cedar being worked on. Not sure if you have a McCoy's Building Supply near you but the one near me carries full dimensional cedar.
Nice Chairs, I have been wanting to build a couple of those so this video was very helpful, thanks April!!
April I like your chairs and the notch on the seat makes it look better and that's how i would do it if i where to make these types of chairs
Congratulations on the first project in the new shop!
your new shop is awesome. now you need a great new table saw mabe a cabinet saw now that you have the room... Keep going girl!
Well done! I love the idea of a tall Adirondack chair. Gonna have to add these to the “to build” list!
Those chairs look great! Great job!
Nice shirt.
Nice work too. I like the Rockler plans I build the regular Adirondack chairs
Looks great! You should add swing out beer holders to the chairs.
I check youtube every day to see if you have posted a video.
Those chairs look great. I think I will wait until I get super jaws, a planer, bandsaw and table saw before I attempt anything like that. We are building a picnic table using your plans! YAY I love making saw dust!
You need a bench April. Like a real workbench. And an assembly table, a big one. I'd love to see you build those projects.
Enjoyed your project. Thanks for sharing. Love your shop too.
Couldn't find the other video to post to but I can say this is the first time I've chosen to watch the advertisement (Adrondack chair) instead of the video I'd intended to watch. Looked good. I may have to try it.
Great job, it's nice to see the on the fly correction to make the chair seat work. It is also great to see you in a shop working again. For your audience if they have not started, they need to follow you on In sta gram.
quedaron espectaculares , felicitaciones........they were spectacular, congratulations
*Your work is wonderful. I was impressed with the high precision in your work. You are a professional, so you are wonderful. I am from Iraq and my English is bad and I used google to translate*
Love the night of those! I was thinking about building some chairs and tables for my back patio. I think those would be great with a small, attached table.
I've been subscribed forever.... I still smile every time April says "sawl." Am I simple, or what?
Hermoso trabajo April !!! saludos desde Argentina.
April them stools look awesome, great job. I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is no stopping you when you put your mind to it. I think that all of your projects have been functional as well as good looking. I'm going to look for a set of plans for those.
Keep up the AWESOME work
Thanks for sharing
Fantastic video, as always April. Do you have any future plans on your own version of a full miter saw station? I love Jay Bates version and used his as inspiration for my own, but I'd also be very interested in seeing your Dream station, particularly since we've now seen you Dream Shop come to fruition and you most definitely have the room for it...lol.
On a side note, pertaining to the chairs, you could also add a connecting drink table that attaches underneath the arms of 2 chairs 😁
Such a cool project! I think I'll surprise the wife with a couple of these! Great video! - Scott
April, I'm so glad that you are using your own shop to do some projects and I can't wait for your shop to fully completed. Question= why did you decide to build 5 chairs instead of just one or two???
I have a wrap around porch and would like at least one chair on each side, then I also have a porch on one side on the lower deck of the house....so there's five. : )
Those chairs are class ill have to make one or two or three four myself my partner and smaller ones for the kids but a great project with fantasic results great work april
Neat jig you made at 3:09 to get the angled cuts with the band saw - one question: can't your bandsaw table tilt in that axis as well? Could you have done that instead of using the little wedge jig? Nice build, and great results, as always!
Great project April, I bought the chair plans!
Thanks for sharing.
Very nice chair. Congratulations my friend.
So many versions of the char. Live and learn.
Your nailing it woman! So glad I started following you years ago, your like a fine wine, getting better with age.😀
I would like to see a project with classic wood joints. Screw connections are pretty easy!
Half lap is a great wood joint, the screws are just holding it together while the glue sets up.
I've been following the build on your Instagram. Love it, they turned out great!!!
: ) Thanks
Beautiful chair, congratulation from Spain
*Such an awesome job, your projects are always so dope*
: ) Thank you
Nice to have you back doing small projects. Missed the clap at the end. What make and model is the band saw?
