I feel like Hikaru x Haruhi x Karou was set up very well, she was the first person to recognize them as individuals rather then twins, and really helped them reach out to others. I'm okay with Tamaki x Haruhi but I feel the twins had a deeper friendship and connection with her than he did.

I know that Tamaki is the one Haruhi picks and I thick they're super cute and I ship them so hard. However, I also really love watching these Haruhi x Hikaru moments. Overall I would have been totally fine if Haruhi had chosen Hikaru over Tamaki. I just love both of those ships. Does that make me weird?

It's sad when you see what could of been such an amazing couple and they spend so much time in a show showing signs of how close they are, only to disappoint millions of fans who would have done anything to see them get together! Hikaru always stood out to me. And they way he was around her. Hikaru's personality and emotions dug so much deeper than Tomaki could ever. He had a protective vibe around her. I almost cried when they didn't get together..you can't take such an interesting character with a intense back story and complicated feelings and be such a key part of the story and through them to the side for Tamaki!! Don't get me wrong Tamaki is great, but Hikaru pays such an important roll that they way they ended it is unfair to him...

It did happen. It was confirmed by the creators of the show/manga. I’ve read all the manga and honestly I don’t think the show lives up to it. I still love it but I think it could have been better.
I still ship Haruhi X Tamaki over Hikaru simply because he would be neglecting Karou and their brotherly relationship wouldn’t seem as special. Tamaki learned so much from Haruhi and truly felt something for her since the first episode/volume of the anime/manga. I love the twins so much so when they’re together (obviously platonically) and I feel it would be better if Hikaru could appreciate his brother a little more and let them both find love together.

There are so many good scenes with these two, they're like the most realistic example of an awkward high school crush, but for all the scenes, did anyone remember in the last episode when the Ootori Family Police stopped them all in the parking garage, and they said they'd stop at nothing to protect Eclair, even if it mean with force, and Haruhi starts out in front of the boys, they don't decide together to stand in front of her, Hikaru grabs her arm and puts her behind himself defensively. And even though it's animated, try to see it live action, try to imagine how his face might have looked. His action was not part of the script, it seemed, but more of an absentminded, kind of primal instinct, despite how brave and "manly" Haruhi might be, Hikaru couldn't let anything happen to her, the fact that no one says anything, in that moment, or after kind of sets it in that they were all so scared that they couldn't think about what to do or how to leave the situation, but Hikaru's first thought over anything was not to his brother, but to this otherworldly kind of girl who had come to mean so much to him.
