They Live may not be the best of John Carpenter but it is certainly a cult classic. I remember the direction of the movie is what held it together for the most part so if they are going to remake it, they need to hopefully find the right director that can take something as "weird" as They Live and still make it interesting. JC is a natural at turning what are "strange" plots into golden movies. Escape from New York, The Thing, Big Trouble In Little China.
