Thank you for the wonderful video. I think many new artists can struggle with acrylics because they approach it thinking they can treat it like another sort of paint. They try to blend as if they're oils or dilute them like they're watercolors -- they want to treat them like a more accessible or cheaper version of oils or tempera or whatever but they're their own kind of paint with many unique attributes!
I cannot use oils right now because I have children in the home and am not comfortable with the danger of oil paint fumes around kids (not enough space for an isolated studio). So I stick to acrylic, gouache & watercolor! I'd love to try egg tempera someday.
I would be interested to hear a comparison between egg tempera & gouache.

Hi Antonis thanks for this video really interesting, when you paint an icon with acrylic can you apply gold leaf? is it possible on canvas? I don't really like acrylic colors, I prefer oil or egg tempera because as you said too, I don't like the plastic effect. Thanks and have a great time
