One of the nicest sedge patterns I've seen in a long time, and tied to perfection as usual. Keep up the good work Davie.

    Hi, Davie
I love all your flies but this one really impressed me. What is your technique for bleaching and dying peacock herl? What dye do you use for olive?
    Thanks again,
    Joe

Hi davie, using the diamond hard i ve found if u give it to much torch u end up with the resin turning white after it sets, have u had anything happen like that to u?it s a real pain as u have to go over it with black varnish to hide it and if u wanted a excample orange head ,well it defeats the purpose, saying that it those speed up the tying when u get it right, keep up the good work love your vids

    Hello Davie.
Paul Jacobsen here from Nelson, British Columbia Canada. Is the Diamond hard COMPLETELY tack free. I bought the bug bond and was very disappointed in it. It always has a honey like tackiness to it when dry, and it is a bugger trying to get off, once off the shine is gone. I love working with the UV resin, but haven't found one yet that is totally tack free.

Hi, Davie. I consider myself blessed to have stumbled upon your work. I've learned and shared much over the last 12 months. Thank you!
With regard to UV resin. Any significant variance between Bug Bond, Diamond Hard and UV Knot Sense? Any specific application you prefer one over another?

    Davie,
Which do you prefer, Bug Bond or Diamond Hard? I have found that Bug Bond dries a bit tacky, at least with the torch that came with the US kit.
    Thanks,
    Redterra527

Hey Davie, I have decided to try this resin. I like the fact that it is tack free. Is the light that I have sufficient or do I have to buy another? Someone told me they are not interchangable. I don't want to buy the resin if I have to buy another light as well. It is coming from the UK and I have to pay high shipping here to the States. All the best, Sean

Thanks, Davie. Do I put my email address on here? Also, what dyes do you use? I can't ever get a good olive color when I dye materials.

what color bead could be used for the head of the fly?

Davie: the Loon series of resins are far superior to Deer Creek as well as all others. Additionally, they have UV cured fly paints in 3 colors and a Fluorescing UV resin for use anywhere on the fly. If you prefer Pro pricing, let me know and I will talk with the owner for you. You probably already know that they are ecologically conscious of the environment and the ingredients of their products support their approach. Let me know.

      Hi Mark Patenaude,
I haven't used Deer Creek resin for a long time as this is an old video. I don't use the resins as much as I used to when they first came out but as I and many others were messing around with them to see how it could improve the flies we tyed and as well come up new ones...I have used Loons UV resins so I'll certainly look at buying some next time...
      All the very best Davie

Nice method using UV resin...cheers Davie for showing that your impartial to any material supplier. Noted also you point out the pattern is not your brain child. Fancy snapping the thread now and again..cursing a bit....you know...generally messing a fly up BIGTIME....just a wee video to show your human! :O)
Top 1% on the planet...and impartial, say no more.
