Once again a stunning production Morten. I cannot wait to see the genetics as this will give an indication of to "why" and "how" are the "O Morph" and "MC Morph" males so very very rare in the wild. I love your work. Thank you for producing such extremely good quality productions. Keep it up and I cannot wait for the next upload. ❤️
Namakate Aquatics Thank you so much. Until 3 months ago there did not exist a wild MC estherae. This is the first ever caught, but they got one more for 1 month ago. :) As I know there is only 3 wild o males in world now.
@@thelakemalawiexperience681 I do fully agree. A very good friend of mine that Farms Malawian Cichlids in South Africa has bred recently his first ever O Morph Male Metriaclima Estherae "Minos Reef" (Concrete Vat Ponds) from Wild Caught stock (During 20 years no spawns recorded on his Farm). If you need further info I can send pictures as well contact details. The O Morph male came from a spawn between a Blue X strain male and a O Morph female ( one in a million spawns over 20 years of harvesting females). The Parent broodstock from which the O morph originates is Wild Caught Imported from Lake Malawi Circa 1998-1999. PERS COMMS. CALVER NEMBWE PTY LTD. Thou Wild form is very very extremely rare my friend has a F1 O Morph Metriaclima Estherae "Minos Reef" male which he has placed back with his Wild Broodstock. I hope that you have an awesome day and please keep me up to date regarding the offspring from your first spawns retrieved as the information regarding the genetics is paramount. The offspring of your O morph male might give an indication as to which genetic trait ( OB , B , O or Blue X) the DNA swings to from the O morph male.
Hey Morten, very nice video and stunning breeding group of estherae! 👍🏻 We bought some WC two years ago (have a lot of fry) and are now looking for one or two MCs (WC, F1, F2...) in Germany. Do you have any idea where to get some? Thx Thorsten
Hi Thorsten Thank you very much 👍🏼 About the estherae I have breed on that mc and o male. You are welcome to contact me on Instagram. I have mc f1 males. ;)
If you pull your fry a little earlier you will usually get more as they always lose a few unless seperated from the colony but I'm sure you know this 😂😂
Enjoyed the video! Congrats on your NEW wild catch from Lake Malawi. I imagine you're wild MC estherae feels excited & lucky to share his tank with so many girls. Metriaclima estherae is a very popular fish here in the U.S. since first being imported decades ago. They do farm-raise the Orange & OB estheraes in Florida. They also farm the albino of both forms & a selectively bred Cherry Red "Aquarium Strain" estherae for Hobbyist. Very rarely have I seen any of the "all Blue" males that are said to be common at Minos Reef? *Cherry Red & Cherry Red OB estherae* ruclips.net/video/50ojbjiPUds/видео.html
Thank you :) I think it is popular all over the world. I all blue males are very common in wild. The standard females (Brown) is hard to find among all the nice orange females😅 And there is a lot more orange females than ob females at Minos reef. That’s why a wild mc never had been found until now.
A cracking film followed by some very special fish! Brilliant 🤙🏻
Simon Thank you :)
Magnífico, gracias por mostrarnos estos videos!!!!!

Would love to see more aulaunocara
I will try in the future :)
How often have you seen Lethrinops in the wild....????
If you go over the sand areas, then you will be able to see them all the time I guess.
Where did you get that bottle to help strip the female?
On ebay I think :)
