Not long ago, my wife and I took a vacation to Disney World and for the first time in years, I barely used my DSLR. The iPhone did everything we needed - easily, quickly, with superb color and great low light performance (and surprisingly little noise). It's amazing how much you can do with something so simple and small! And, significantly: it's always with you.
i just made a trip to Yosemite, and another wild places in California, I decided to buy one Fujifilm xe3 point and shoot camera, the camera is amazing but not much different from my pixel 6 pro and my iPhone 13 pro, with that being said; for me there's no point carrying out one more thing during the trip ( extra charger, extra batteries and still you need to upload the photos to your computer) , that's a lot of work let it to professionals ...
It’s amazing how far smartphones have come in terms of photography. For the average person, there is no reason anymore to buy a proper camera. Sure, a DSLR/Mirrorless has a much better image quality, but most people will only look at their pictures on the screen of their phones. And even if they print out their photos, it’s usually only in small sizes. Therefore the difference in quality is negligible most of the time.
@@player-yh7vy Stories and moments are 99.99% of the value and you can easily share it to many people instantly...quality of photo and video is 0.01% of the value. You can have DSLR or mirrorless and have better photos and videos after editing with few likes or audience....and it's not always with you. Or you can have iPhone (or other smartphone) always with you, not missing any moments and have great photos and videos that's 90+% quality of those in dslr or mirrorless cameras and share it to the world with hundreds, or thousands of likes or thousands to millions of views. Just learn how to take great photos and videos even if you have iPhone...esp filming techniques. You can even have Anamorphic lens from ''moment''...and their cinebloom filter, variable ND filter...and dji osmo 5 for many other stuffs.
The fact that even such a video comparison exists speaks volumes to the state of smartphones and computational photography. I of course "can" get better shots from my dSLR, but that requires shooting in RAW and significant manual post image processing. It's amazing what a modern smartphone can do right out of the camera. Times have certainly changed. I really wish companies like Nikon and Canon can do what Apple has done with their ProRAW format. Imagine building in Apple level of computational photography that is editable based on results from a full frame sensor. That would be amazing.
Meh. when you inspect the picture, you see a lot of oversharpening to overcome the noise reduction applied to compensate for high ISO due to small amount of light of the tiny sensor. Smartphone pictures are of mediocre quality.
@@vivelafrance8400 the problem with you photographers is the video wasn’t made to convince y’all that the iPhone is better, it’s for the average user to understand how good the iPhone camera is No average person would buy a dSLR camera, what does he/she need it for? unless he/she is a trying to become a professional photographer. For someone who isn’t going into photography, the iPhone will serve all the functions of a smartphone and still provide quality pictures.
Addressing the sky exposure issue. I love what Apple has done. I'm a portrait photographer and Adobe Photoshop ambassador. The HDR quality for everyday use is an upgrade from the normal portrait mode and the ease of use as close as people get to things to photograph them is well fitted. That being said, it's still mostly software than actual lens work. The lens are better, but the reason there's halos on top of the trees and the skies are "exposed so perfectly" is because the phone camera software is guessing where the sky is and bringing down that exposure automatically. You are instantly losing information. As a professional, this is absolutely something you want to avoid. Anytime you edit an image in software, you are losing information. If you do not have proper lighting and settings exposure, you will not capture information. A good way not to lose sky in an image is to bring down the camera exposure and light your subject. If it's a building, you study the lighting for optimum exposure. That being said, if this isn't your job to devote the time to this study, you simply do not have the time to wait, or the image itself is a one and done shot... the iPhone 13 pro max is perfect. Professionally, it doesn't start to be problematic until you start trying to deviate from HDR style... it's all it's got.
@@adonaigraph6815 the iPhone 13 Pro Max ($1099 for 256GB) is only imitating what the camera has perfected since the 80's. If you are at all serious about professionally selling work and service... you'd buy both. Although, my One+ ($799 with 256GB) has been able to do all these things for two years now. Don't fall for the marketing, look up the technology so you don't end up spending more than you have to.
I've finally sold my A7iii and ordered an iPhone 13 pro, I am a father now and taking camera with me everywhere is impossible, I have phone with me at all times and taking pictures of my son is just a matter of taking my phone out of my pocket.. yes, the best camera is the one you have with you. I also noticed that in the past 2 years I only took like 9k pictures with A7iii which is too low of a number for it to be worth it.
The time I took the most pictures was when I bought a Nokia 808. Not every place you can use a DSLR. However, a DSLR with an external flash is incomparable. It's a world of creativity. However, a cell phone is everywhere at your disposal.
@@Henry-ve3ye but majority of people wi forget it in their social media apps or library, it does have the same feel as pro camera images that are printed out on a big frame...phone cameras are only good for social media and small displays. All my best memory images are from pro camera and it's framed
I have 2 words for this: 1) computational 2) photography. The iPhones automatically process the captured images. But "fiddling around" with the images generated by a DSLR/mirrorless camera would yield the same -- or better -- result. iPhones are the epitome of convenience. DSLRs/mirrorless require work and knowledge. ... iPhone photography is for those that would purchase a sports car with an automatic transmission.
The benefit of dslr is being able to crop photos with greater resolution, action photos regardless of distance or light, post production editing and better sensors. Having said that I can’t wait to buy the 13pro bc it’s the camera you use that is the best one
So I guess you didn’t watch the video or see what other photographers are saying about the 13 PRO. I know it’s hard to believe that all of the money we spent on bodies and lenses overall are not that much better, sometimes worse than the newest iPhones. Emotions do not cover up facts.
@@bmakel try printing out an image on a big poster, make sure you use a phone camera, it will turn into a low budget quality. I've tried. Don't let over processed images fool, they only look good on phones, you will always have to have pro camera or bigger lens, computational only are good for social media and phone display....all that artificial crap will show.
@@bmakel I honestly can not take my sport shots with the 13... Motion is a pure blur. 1/1000th when shooting a game is amazing. Also when it gets dark my phone is a pixelated mess and black, while my dsrl is still crisp as can be. Also my 300mm+ shots can not be done on any phone... I can also tell he's not using neutral raw. Wth, no shit the pics look flat lmao.
I think that you cannot campare these tools that are totally different in terms of capacities and for who's adressed. dynamic range of nef file is superior to what is shown in the examples. you can get the same results through lightroom or other raw software. I'm even sure that if you push the saturation, vignetting controle and d-lightening you're close without having to do computational imaging. images on iphones are oversharpened and over saturated to my taste but a lot of people likes this rendering straight out of the camera to post on social media. at the end, those are different (both excellent) tools for different purposes and/or needs.
Finally, someone with sense. It's like putting Cesna plane and a car in town streets and comparing how much more easier and comforable it is to use a car for travel. I agree only on one thing.. if you know absolute nothing about photography with no intention of learning, you're definitely better off with iphone.
You are right but just like Oleg mentioned in the video, DSLR photographers will shoot in raw but then it requires much more post processing work and time. The idea is to show that iPhone can achieve great results on the go without additional input and have similar results next to the expensive and professional DSLR cameras.
@@maxone007 I understand the point of the video to showcase the IQ of the iPhone but I'm sorry but to my eye results aren't equivalent. A 24mp full frame sensor will get better results than a tiny 12mp sensor with noise and dynamic range. if the purpose of this video is to compare tools on the go, like shooting pictures on vacations it would be more interesting to compare to some more compact camera such an x100v or Ricoh (despite of not having interchangeable lens, you can still crop)... you mention expensive cameras but iPhone pro max isn't a cheap phone and you can get better results with cheaper camera than an iPhone pro max. iPhone made a good step with the photographic profiles but it is still missing full settings of picture profile to set sharpness, saturation, noise etc. before shooting
@@maxone007 I like how the term "expensive" is so easily attached to DSLR cameras. For comparison, my Nikon D750 is almost 8 years old by now. I paid for it a little more than $1500 new. Today, its in good condition, I can easily sell it for 900-1000$. And I don't want to ! Because it's still great camera. It's very relevant and still widely used in professional photography today. How many iphones did you change from 2014? How much did it cost you in total? I undersdand comparing current iphones to DSLRs has been a thing for a while and it's great marketing. But in reality, it's missleading to someone who might actually want to get into photography. Because it's compared by people with very little knowledge about photography and DSLRs. And its actually not even that hard ! I personally edit in Lightroom every picture I take from my iphone. Just as I do for my camera raws. It takes seconds. All what I'm trying to say. If you want to make a great picture, a banger from a once in a lifetime trip, that you want to show to everyone and print on the wall... you will never be able to do it with iphone. Even if you don't know how to edit your photos, you will learn someday. And you can go back to your old raws and apply the new techniques. The posibilities are just sooo much greater with DSLR. And its actually waaay cheaper on the long run ! It will save you much money because you won't be buying next iphone just so you can get that little more better camera. You already have your DSLR for that. I'm speaking only from experience.
For PORTRAIT I personally choose Nikon, you can get more blurry backrounds (Depth of field) in your photo by using 85mm f1.4 lens. It's great for cinematic video aswell.
smartphones in general are getting too good. The best camera is the one you have with you all the time, the important part is from the lens 20 inches back. 😉
I''ve been professionally taking photos since the 1970's shooting weddings in the 1990's and since the early 2000's, shooting real estate photography. And I've read a lot of reviews/opinions from old photo dogs like myself who still swear that the camera is ALWAYS better than an iPhone. And for shooting indoor real estate photography, select landscape, weddings, etc., a camera is always better for many reasons. BUT, when it comes to shooting on-the-go shots, nightime city life, street photography, and even some landscape, people, animals, etc., I am personally seeing that the iPhone imagery is leaps beyond what my $3,500 Nikon D810 and lens can produce. PLUS, I don't have to use my tripod which ALWAYS send up red flares to securty in parks and cities (I'm now living in London and just about got tackled when I opened up my tripod, while e-bike and e-scooters are running over pedestrians). That's a blog on its own... The Trouble With Tripods! Great video and thanks for posting the side-by-side images, as I just did a side-by-side last night and overall, the phone won!
This is officially the iPhone that takes more than simply snapshots. The portrait mode, the close-ups, the wide angles, they truly stand on their own merits.
if u want editable picture for framing or printing or business purposes, go for the dslr or mirrorless cam. If u are a person who only shots picture for your social media, the iphone is more than enough.
depends if you can get a decent dslr body for cheap then just buy an 35 or 50mm 1.8 youll get pretty good results raw wise, iphone will never replace a good camera but it has one of the best smartphone cameras out there
Thoughts are pretty simple. Look at the combine cost of a DSLR with additional lenses versus the iPhone which is also a phone. Then compare the perceived difference or improvement of the dedicated equipment and its plain to see it really isn’t worth it for the average consumer.

As someone that shoots in the raw on my iphone camera, this is an even more interesting comparison to me, so glad I found it. When shooting in the raw on iphone I have good results, but only when willing to manually adjust every factor like zoom old school, since you are relying on none of that pre-processing digitally or auto functions of a dslr. I will say, putting a macro lens with a diffuser on an iphone, makes me feel like I might not need to buy a new dslr upgrade, only new phone models. Will be looking forward to if you make a video comparing the new iphone 15 when it comes out, if it does have the rumoured periscope lens.
Absolutely geniall comparison. For daily usage is cell phone absolutely no brainer. There is so many situation when even you have DLSR in bag, you can not catch them (few mins unpacking, setting.) But Iphone is in pocket and i can get unique (no again repetable moment in child history) shot. I am taking photos for last 30 years using DLSR starting with Canon 300D now with 5DSR mainly focused on real estate and related commercial photo. Even about 5 years back i picked my DSLR (think it was 5D3 and 7D that times) i used them even for day trips to mountains. Oh how i am glad, that we have such powerfull cell phones, which are absolutely able to take classic daily photos in much better queality. But still, using DSLR on actions as wedding, real estate, sport is only thing they can be used and are kings. Thanks for video ! Keep good work, sir.
Of course pictures will be comparable during the day, with sunlight, and normal pictures/portraits. However, nothing beats DSLR or Mirrorless for sports, wildlife, low light photography.
It depends on what you choose. You have the alternative of taking dozens or hundreds of photos with automatic fire, letting the software on your phone do all the "art" of taking the photo that is close to perfection but to the conception of which you did not contribute much (out of several hundred photos, you surely choose ten very good ones to admire on the already oversaturated Instagram) or choose your own camera settings (manual of course) and then spend with the several dozen RAW photos on Lightroom to bring out something remarkable. The act of photography is for many also a form of meditation, of union with the reality that surrounds you and not just a simple push of a button. This is also about personal satisfaction for many of us, the satisfaction that that photo is your own creation and not the computer inside the over-tech phone
Great explanation, thanks! I would like to know if you process your iPhone raw photos in your iPhone or do you transfer them to a computer and use a program like photoshop or Lightroom?
Hey) I’m 90% of the time I don’t even shoot raw on the iPhone and edit photos a bit in the stock photos app, but if I do want to shoot raw I use some iPhone apps to edit the photos straight on the phone! Thanks and stay tuned)
One thing about “digital sharpness”. Apple does a lot of work in camera. Using the Nikon, you have to do the work in a separate app. But they’re both digital sharpness and corrections. That’s one thing people have to understand. But also, the 24MP sensor vs the 12MP sensor requires more sharpness correction on the lower rez sensor. So it will be somewhat more obvious in higher magnifications. But comparing the iPhone to a full frame 24MP sensor is tough. A more interesting comparison would be to a 4:3 sensor camera and lenses, which only goes to 20MP.
А при съёмке в темноте для зеркалки использовался штатив? Просто очень интересно, можно ли снять с рук нормальное фото на зеркалку вечером/ночью. Не только пейзаж, но и портрет.
@5:37 Look at the background, the trees to the left really looks like trees, to the right they look like spinach. It's not only the sharpness, that could be adjusted in the Nikon camera to just the level you want. It's all about the depth of colors. I guess there are tons more possible settings you can do on Nikon. I use the mobile for documenting things in my job and Nikon otherwise. But surely the phones are getting better and better, but so do also full frame cameras.
The iPhone 7 was the game changer for me. Good screen visibility in bright sunlight. Excellent photos. Better video than any big camera I have ever owned.
I think that DSLR cameras can never be fully replaced by phone cameras. The control of using a DSLR for lets say to blur the background for bokeh effect cannot be done well with phone cameras. Also that DSLRs have the choice to changing to multiple lenses for different situations while the phone has only a few fixed lenses
*I’m deciding whether to buy an iPhone 13 or a Sony A7c.* My only real “colour grading” would be chucking a Davinci resolve LUT onto the footage. I want to use the A7c as a webcam too for zoom and recording RUclips videos etc. Can you use the iPhone as a webcam for zoom?
Hey) You can, but for this purpose I'd consider Sony ZV-1 - I have a big review and comparison of iPhone 12 Pro Max and ZV-1 - check it out) It's a great little tool, especially good for streaming)
@@donif Yeah, I was looking at that too. I guess, the extra quality from the A7c seems to almost match the A7s3. I think I’d rather get the iPhone over a Zv-e10.
Bro it's simple. U buy an iphone, u got to update in 3years. Else u buy a camera, with good editing skills u can match or beat any phone. The level of detail u can pull out of cameras is superior. Low light will be crisp and with very low noise, creamy highlight roll offs. Better HDR videos. U can upgrade by investing in better lenses. The camera will last u 5yrs to even a decade. Iphone uses tiny sony sensors. The A7C is full frame. U might think you'll get better DR in pictures on the iphone, it's true, iPhone RAW pictures have insane DR. But u can do exposure bracketing and image stacking with cameras too! Don't let AI bury the potential u may have. Unleash it and get creative. Hope I helped u figure it out. I know you'll buy an iPhone. Who doesn't wanna try that right. But you'll be much more satisfied with the camera when you'll get to edit stuff. Do professional grade video recording. Might even be movie quality. You could shoot weddings, events and keep high quality files for future processing trends. Iphones are stuck with AI enhancements of the current generation. Be mindful of this.
For the average user the iPhone (or any good smartphone) is a better choice, it allows anyone to take a great shot without having to worry about switching lenses, manual adjustments and editing. Of course, for a professional or even an amateur who knows all that will be happier with the camera. But still, it is nice to have such powerful tool in a pocket.
I am planning to buy Vivo X80 at less price than DSLR and x90 pro as they both are expensive.... Is x80 good for casual photography when you travel ??????
To me the iPhone photos look fake with the portrait mode. I still haven't seen one that convinces me - as someone pointed out, they are brilliant for people who want a snap to look at on their phone screen, but for professional use they have a long way to go
The 13 does a great job on this. It's pretty comparable but I still prefer Nikon's look. Maybe it's because I don't like the sharpness of the iPhone's photos. My favorite picture is the little house at 5:35. Thank you for the review! :)
With all due respect, I find it a little baffling that you prefer some of the shots taken in portrait mode by the iPhone even though they noticeably didn't have the edges of their subjects blurred properly... I get that people usually don't get hung up on such nitty gritty details but as a photography hobbyist with a keen eye for details, I personally feel that DSLR would be the better pick for me if I had to decide between it and the iPhone for casual photography. Anyway, I enjoyed watching this video. I think you've done a great job putting together a comparison of the photos taken by the DSLR against the ones taken by the iPhone in this video, just like you did in other videos of a similar nature. Keep it up!
The macro lens on the Pro Max is amazing. I have a dedicated 40mm Macro lens for my Lumix G85. The iPhone certainly more grainy in comparison, but it can get so much closer. I'll take my my mirrorless + macro if I know I'm going out to exclusively do macro, but otherwise, the Pro Max is just a great camera in general to have because you won't have to worry about walking past something and think "dang, I should have brought my camera. This would have been a great picture."
As an owner of a Nikon full frame and three 2.8 lenses and an iPhone 11 Pro, I’m really conflicted about the upgrade path.. esp in macro. I’ve been shooting Nikon DSLRs for 17 years, so I know it’s benefits, and had iPhones since they came out, and boy did they catch up..
Today i am going to buy a camera for shot video content. But after watching this video, i already change my mind! Yess i will buy iPhone 13 pro max 256 GB. It’s confirmed! Thank you bro & Done subscribe :)
iPhone is for people who does casual photos While a Dedicated camera is for someone who knows what to do with it. I will prefer a dedicated camera anyday. Digitally Sharp photos without details are not my cup of tea.
I compared it with my fujixs10 and kit lens. No comparison. Pro 13 max colors and everything is off. The processing in iPhone is tuned to make pleasant pictures, not true pictures. Do not even think of blowing the pictures up more than 1.5. There obviously is automatic brightening in low light. With regular camera you can adjust to get that brightening and make a dark photo pop out.
Is it safe to say that modern smartphones are replacing budget and mid range DSLR. Anyone knows that and I want to buy a budget or mid range DSLR or whether I have to continue on my phone or should I buy it..I m not into professional photography
as DSLR users we know that camera phones will never get better than a DSLR camera even older ones LOL but hey it provide a nice colored flat picture ready to use i think that's what some people want
I LOVE my camera kit so much but sometimes I spend so much time capturing images, transferring them to my laptop, editing, sending to my phone, and then posting to IG. Then literally 98% of all the content I view is taken from phones and it all looks amazing hahaha. Ease of use and simplicity really is worth a ton! Great video, subbed immediately. Cheers

My mind is on fire. I'm an amateur photographer for 10 years and use full frame Canon. Last vacation the photo's from my wife's iPhone 11 Pro where amazing and yes mine with the Canon mirrorless FF where sharper, but in the printed photo album the only difference is color science. After this video I'm seriously thinking of leaving the Canon at home next vacation and that sets my photography mind on fire!
I needed a quality camera to capture every single little detail of my paintings and to get the vibrancy of colour without wasting time having to adjust and process every single individual one. I really hope my new iPhone 13 pro lives up to this review. Thanks for sharing.
Since iphone uses a lot of software augmentation of the photo, I think these two comparisons are not fair. If iPhone would allow to shoot a photo in raw/unaugmented photo, that would be a fair trial. On the other hand, it would also be fair that the author has used some software to further adjust/augment photos from the Nikon, than we could compare these two in fair rules. My personal opinion is: if you are a pro photographer, and you have the same scene shot from iPhone and Nikon, you would have much more easier time editing a Nikon photo than iPhone photo. In a real world scenario, where you don't want to waste time and you just want to have good/decent photos for personal use, iPhone wins big time.
DSLRs have picture profiles, so you can have a more saturated jpeg right out of the camera. iPhones have great cameras, and they win in portability, no question about it. But quality wise, there can be no comparison. As for the HDR, even if you only have 7 stops of dynamic range, with 25 frames stacked on top of each other you could theoretically surpass even an ARRI Alexa (in certain conditions). I guess the crappy dynamic range of phone camera sensors was what made HDR necessary.
The amount of money it takes for a full frame DSLR plus all of the lenses is hard to believe that a iPhone is anywhere close. I can just use my iphone to get almost the same and sometimes better with a iPhone 13 Pro. It’s an emotional choice when I had so much money in my Canon. Ended up selling it and now just use my iPhone 12 Pro. Just ordered the 13 Pro. Now I don’t worry about my setting and just enjoy the picture. Makes life so much easier and my subjects don’t have to stand there forever while I compose the picture. That gets old is you are the subject.
Thanks so much for this comparison video. I'm a photography hobbyist & have been agonizing over which camera & lens to buy, especially for vacations and road trips. A full frame DSLR will always be ahead of any phone's minuscule lenses in overall quality, but I am happy to see the iPhone 13 Pro's camera system is at least capable of delivering similar results in most scenarios. I have a single lens iPhone XR and it looks like this phone will be a great replacement. Plus the ease of carrying a phone compared to toting a full camera rig on a vacation will make a ton of difference. Fantastic video :)
Let’s learn to appreciate everything with what they can do. The technology in smart phones is moving faster, however we can not compare phone with DSRL or mirrorless camera, to me it’s like comparing a motorbike 🏍 with a truck. They both move but one is made to carry heavy and large load, while the other was made to carry no more than 2 people only. Same as DSRL Or mirrorless camera vs phone camera. When comparing these 2, let’s not forget about what these 2 were made for. The phone is primarily made for calling and texting, the rest of these specs are just additional but not primarily. While DSRL or mirrorless cameras are primarily made for the proper photos with right settings, rights lighting, location, editing techniques ect… Tommy opinion, phone is personal while camera is professionally
IPhones take fantastic point and shoot photos. They are a great vacation camera. I love my IPhone 13. It , in no way, compares to the quality of my Sony camera with high end glass. But if you really don’t know much about Photography or Photography quality, then the premise of this video might make sense you. Imagine hiring a wedding photographer and he shows up with a cell phone. Let’s keep it real. iPhones are about convenience and it’s silly to compare them to high-end DLSRs with high-end lenses. I make my living with my camera. I’ve never seen anyone show up to a professional photo shoot with a cell phone camera.
The first real good comparison. Love it. Would also be great with some more unfair comparisons where you show off how significant the difference with more exotic lenses can be and with also LR post processing.
I think no) Check out my in-depth comparison of iPhone 12 Pro Max and Sony ZV-1 Camera, you'll see the difference between 1-inch sensor with good optics and good computational photography with tiny sensors...)
I think it is not a very fair comparison. When you use photos from a DSLR to make a video, it takes away all the quality of the photos. It is the video trap: there any image made with a camera seems to be on the same level as that of a smartphone. Just like when you upload them to Instagram, which degrades all the quality. Shoot in RAW and not JPG (and edit the RAW file) and the quality difference is huge. In close-up photos taken with high-end mobiles, there is hardly any texture on the skin (they look like porcelain figures): the same is not the case with DSLRs.
I agree, It's especially hard to compare image quality when they're zoomed out in a video like this. I burrowed my sister's Iphone 12 for some photography and looking on the phone screen, it was actually really good. However once I uploaded it on a large pc screen it became quite clear that much of the details were digitally sharpened. I do like Apple's computational photography and I hope they improve on that, but it's just crazy people are comparing an actual camera with a phone. P.S. My a6400 shits on the Iphone even with the kit lens
I don’t understand why people want to rush and denounce DSLRs. Smartphones have come a long way…great. They’re good enough. I just don’t see a need to encourage people to “throw away” pro level equipment that can do much better in terms of quality. I’m trying to say as a pro photographer, I don’t want my hard work, learning and training to produce the art I produce to be devalued because someone can do (something like it) with a smartphone without putting in work. Point: why not just support both lanes, the pro photographers and the enthusiasts that have very capable smartphones to do every day photography. Not long ago, my wife and I took a vacation to Disney World and for the first time in years, I barely used my DSLR. Sure, a DSLR/Mirrorless has a much better image quality, but most people will only look at their pictures on the screen of their phones. And even if they print out their photos, it’s usually only in small sizes. Therefore the difference in quality is negligible most of the time.

You are right but just like Oleg mentioned in the video, DSLR photographers will shoot in raw but then it requires much more post processing work and time.

One thing about “digital sharpness”. Apple does a lot of work in camera. Using the Nikon, you have to do the work in a separate app. But they’re both digital sharpness and corrections. That’s one thing people have to understand. But also, the 24MP sensor vs the 12MP sensor requires more sharpness correction on the lower rez sensor. So it will be somewhat more obvious in higher magnifications.
But comparing the iPhone to a full frame 24MP sensor is tough. A more interesting comparison would be to a 4:3 sensor camera and lenses, which only goes to 20MP.

If you take static photos use a phone, but anything high speed ,high temperature, or low temperature use a real camera. You can't compare the two as one is for a true professional who can use all the features and the other is for the amateur who just wants to point and shoot.
Yup and all these Apple shills never do action shots on their precious phones. Blur friggin city.
We’re these show in ProRaw or HEIC? I’ve noticed a pretty good jump in quality using ProRaw vs HEIC on my 12 Pro Max and it’s compatible to my Nikon Z5 in a lot of instances.
Where it’s written RAW in the video - this is RAW))))
@@NOlimitsON Thanks, I missed that bit on the first watch, great job on the low light video as well! We’ve reached a time where it’s very difficult to tell the difference with which camera shot what with current flagship phones!
@@kalimarus thank you)
Shoot your Nikon Z5 with the Nikkor Z 50mm f/1.8 lens and compare it to the iPhone.
@@user-jw3rj2zi8k no kidding right?
The firt time I see Nikon 17-28/2.8 ! And all the comparision have no the RAW file upload link for download !
I upgraded to the 13 Pro from my 11 Pro Max because of the camera difference as I love creating tech content. I use my Sony a6400 to film and I must say that the 13 Pro’s camera is really impressive.
Cool! Congrats!
I m using iPhone 11 Pro and will upgrade 13 pro because of taking photos is my hobby , although I have Nikon D5600 and a lot of lenses .

Smartphone is the standard point and shoot in 2022. Pretty cool when I used to carry around an old Pentax in 2005 and a nikon in 2014. Dslr is still king
I have a pixel 6 pro, and was planning to buy Nikon D750 (already have some nikon lenses). Your video has convinced me otherwise. And also reminds the challenges I have faced with getting perfect pictures from my old D3100!
Thank you so much bro, now I am going to buy my first iphone, thanks!! 🔥
Thank you)) Cool) Glad for you!
D780 user here. I love the the DSLRs .. I hate that I don’t have control over the phone’s camera.
Yeah, me to)
@@NOlimitsON awesome bro. I love it. I’m not sure I’m ready to switch to mirrorless.
Your back will be grateful to you, if you carry only a smartphone with you in the trip)
@@NOlimitsON ha ha .. interesting answer.
same deal for me, went on vacation with my Sony alpha and dang.... the Huawei P20 beats it.
When you do these comparisons, what screen do you use to observe the results?
iMac 5K 27”
I'm gonna point this out
Phones are for just point and shoot
DSLRs are for professional photography and skill
I needed a quality camera to capture every single little detail of my paintings and to get the vibrancy of colour without wasting time having to adjust and process every single individual one.
I really hope my new iPhone 13 pro lives up to this review. Thanks for sharing.
"iPhone is equally better than a pro camera". That's all true until your wedding photographer comes in with a bunch of iPhones at your wedding. 🤣
I think the iPhone needs a few software updates to really show off the new hardware & software
Maybe)
Since iphone uses a lot of software augmentation of the photo, I think these two comparisons are not fair. If iPhone would allow to shoot a photo in raw/unaugmented photo, that would be a fair trial.
On the other hand, it would also be fair that the author has used some software to further adjust/augment photos from the Nikon, than we could compare these two in fair rules.
My personal opinion is: if you are a pro photographer, and you have the same scene shot from iPhone and Nikon, you would have much more easier time editing a Nikon photo than iPhone photo. In a real world scenario, where you don't want to waste time and you just want to have good/decent photos for personal use, iPhone wins big time.
most of the people don`t know how to use a photo-camera that`s why they are preferring an iphone :))) and they are telling that is close to a camera
Thank you)) stay tuned, mate)

Let’s learn to appreciate everything with what they can do. The technology in smart phones is moving faster, however we can not compare phone with DSRL or mirrorless camera, to me it’s like comparing a motorbike 🏍 with a truck. They both move but one is made to carry heavy and large load, while the other was made to carry no more than 2 people only.
Same as DSRL
Or mirrorless camera vs phone camera.
When comparing these 2, let’s not forget about what these 2 were made for. The phone is primarily made for calling and texting, the rest of these specs are just additional but not primarily. While DSRL or mirrorless cameras are primarily made for the proper photos with right settings, rights lighting, location, editing techniques ect…
Tommy opinion, phone is personal while camera is professionally
Hei. Have you testing the northen light white iPhone 13pro max? Can you test the camera if you haven't do it.
Didn’t really understand your question…
It'd be great if you use the same settings of ISO and exposure as comparison in the future.
thanks, this is exactly what I needed!

Is there any camera difference between the 13 Pro Max and the 13 Pro?
No)) absolutely identical
It is amazing how they managed to fit those parts in an iphone and yet did get better results than those heavy bulky dslrs
Cellphones are great for stills
Use it all the time
Still need the dslr camera for action and low light
The first real good comparison. Love it. Would also be great with some more unfair comparisons where you show off how significant the difference with more exotic lenses can be and with also LR post processing.
Yeah, I agree, bro) I will) Thank you) Stay Tuned)

Would you say the iPhone 13 pro is better than a Canon M50?
I think no) Check out my in-depth comparison of iPhone 12 Pro Max and Sony ZV-1 Camera, you'll see the difference between 1-inch sensor with good optics and good computational photography with tiny sensors...)
@@NOlimitsON thank you.
P.S.
My a6400 shits on the Iphone even with the kit lens
can you compare the Fujifilm X-T4 vs the iphone 13 pro max?
Sorry, I don’t have access to X-T4
I don’t understand why people want to rush and denounce DSLRs. Smartphones have come a long way…great. They’re good enough. I just don’t see a need to encourage people to “throw away” pro level equipment that can do much better in terms of quality. I’m trying to say as a pro photographer, I don’t want my hard work, learning and training to produce the art I produce to be devalued because someone can do (something like it) with a smartphone without putting in work. Point: why not just support both lanes, the pro photographers and the enthusiasts that have very capable smartphones to do every day photography. The landscape is changing and I don’t want a future where peoples work on pro camera systems are diminished.
Because Artificial Intelligence has won the cyber war …. Phones control everything … I agree with you but it’s game over … that and Apple wants to rule the entire universe. Also people want results in real time they want things uploaded as it’s happening … phones multi tasking capabilities are just out of control ….

Most of the time i found the iphone oversharpened, this really destroy the natural look of the picture and make everything looks artificial, i prefer having a little more blurry picture then sharpen if needed in post
Each equipment has its own purpose.
You can’t compare two different things.
