Flor de Cana 5 you can get it in Mexico at 9 dolars and the prive includes tax. Flor de Cana is from Nicaragua in the town of Chichigalpa. The Flor de Cana 7 is much better and you can get it in Mexico for 13 dolars alao this price incluses tax. Plantation rum have added sugar 22 grams per liter they call it dosing to smooth the rum.

Flor De Cana is Nicaragua and they are mixed up in controversy because of their workers dying due to unsafe working conditions

I'm curious about flor de cana because idk any other nicaraguan rum..but iv had the 5 or 7, can't remember and wasn't very impressed. wonder if i should invest in a higher age or just try a different brand/island. has anybody here had a higher age statement flor de cana product?

I have! I'm also the person Derrick was mentioning about just having asked about Flor. I've had up to the 12, but looking at possibly getting the 25 for the holidays. They are definitely all very similar in profile through the whole line. They are very dry rums, no added sugar in any of the products, and much more delicate in terms of flavor. They are basically extremely Spanish styled, so as I said, light and delicate with much more subdued flavors rather than the "punch you in the face" aspect of so much of what most people associate with rums. I'd recommend looking around for a bar that carries it and trying it there, rather than blowing a ton of money for something you might not like! Flor isn't a hard to come by brand in any sense, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a place that has say the 12.

    Plantation shill :)
Seriously though, wish I could find this stuff in Flint Michigan, any Plantation, but it's non-existent. Even our biggest baddest liquor store doesn't carry it.

I wish I could too, we had Plantation Dark and now it's not there anymore at our store :( And, because NH is state controlled, every store in the state is the same. No variation on product (outside of smaller stores having less selection)
