    Thanks alot for your effort in presenting this here!
    I was looking for a simple project like this, for a long time, after I destroyed a chinese one with a charged capacitor! Would be interesting to modify the code to program a pin ON/OFF during the test so it could actually SHORT CIRCUIT the three input terminals BEFORE the actual test starts.
    This way, you can be sure that if a capacitor is applied at the test terminals, it will be shorten, so discharged, right before the measurement take place, so it can be done without any risk demaging the Nano!
    Another question: are you sure it can detect most types of TRIACS as well SCR? I bought something similar in china but not all TRIAC's where correctly detected. Not talking about SCR's .
    Anyway thanks A LOT !!!!🙂🙂😉

    • @Patrik6920
      @Patrik6920 Год назад +1

      erm...shorten a capacitor in most cases destroys it or causes damage to it, a larger one prob fry the circuitboard also...
      a Mosfet usually needs to be shortend or have a draining resistor before it can be measured correctly...maby thats why those cheap once didnt work... fairly sure u dont have to for any known triac... but technically it can have an added capacitor to prevent it from being triggered from high freq noise...

    Nice!
    This can be expanded a lot to test a lot more components and even identifying what they are with a graphic of what it is.
    Personally, I wouldn't use that particular LCD. I have a bunch of them and they are ok for some stuff, but for something where I'd want to display a picture and better colors as well as more data, I'd be using a Nextion display.
    But this is very interesting!
    Thanks for posting this.

      Hey whats the best source for small high quality components like that?

    • @BlondieSL
      @BlondieSL Год назад +2

      @@mememan2344 Do you mean the Nextion displays?
      As for those tiny LCDs, Nextion doesn't make any that small. For small projects, I guess they are fine, but their libraries can take up a lot of memory, especially when there's a lot of write code and graphics codes.
      I already have some devices that do what this does and a lot more. Some of them have full color displays while others just monochrome. I love color! LOL
      So I actually have no need to build this project.
      But if I were to do so, just for fun, I'd use the Nextion display. Probably the smallest one, which I think is 2.4" and the "Basic" version.
      I have seen the price on the Nextions go up a lot since COVID.
      I got lucky last year and found a bunch of the 2.4" Basic models for a good price. I bought a bunch to use for basic versions for projects where I don't need internal RTC.
      As for where to buy, while I did find some on Amazon at a reasonable price, usually the sellers are way over charging.
      So most Nextion displays I buy from
      RobotShop.
      Hope that helps and I hope that I understood your question.
