A fantastic piece of art. It transcends it's place in music history. I was so excited at the time that blacks would produce more hard rock and heavy metal. Unfortunately it didn't come to pass.

So I"m randomly thinking of Living Colour and their song Cult of Personality. Not a minute later I set down to look at my RUclips Subscribed list to see what's new and find this video.
This song haunted me for so many years. I had heard it on radio 93x.i remember the riff but not the song. I tried to find it yrs and yrs until i found it. This was before sazam. I love thos song

Saw these guys live back in 1990-something. Urban Dance Squad opened for them. Absolutely insane show.
I remember CBGBs back in the 80s. It was this little hole in the wall place that had great bands play at back in the 70s and 80s.

It's almost foreshadowing or a warning of what to look out for.

This track is as fresh and relevant today as the day it was recorded. It's too bad they had to squander such insight on rote "orange man bad" banality.
It's a bit off the mark too. I wouldn't say Trump represents "angry white American man". Trump's his own thing, and doesn't seem angry to me at all. If anything he represents the most smug and shallow aspect of the rich.

That song cult of personality might have played there but these people's ideology of what the song actually means the words behind it and the meanings are far off from the truth they downgrade in living color here and the song what it means in every way shape and form this should be literally this should this this shouldn't be proud of themselves for the Frederick that they're pushing about what this song really means and what the words are really saying to the people it is a slap in the face to these artists that broke hold up personality and it is a disgrace to it song itself and what it means so you guys should really pay attention and think more about what he is saying and what those words really mean reflect people
