    I made $4.22 (four dollars and twenty two cents) in the last 3 months :) And as a note the disclaimer at 4:43 was the winner for me, admitting you are doing your own thing and not being a deity in KDP production and sales won me as a sub and got a thumbs up. Thanks for the great video ma'am!

      What a lovely comment, thank you for your uplifting words and for liking and subscribing! Congrats on your KDP sale(s)! It's a small amount but significant. Take note on the qualities of the book/books has/have (for example: does it have a neat cover, is your book description engaging, or what does the book have that competing books don't?). Take note of all the good things, and see how you can improve other existing books within those aspects or, what books can you make in subniches to your current books that have made sales.
      I have made many changes to my existing books after they were published. For example, i had this one book that did not make any sales for 3 months, and after i changed the cover 3 or 4 times, added A+ content and then improved my A+ content, rewrote my book description... This book is making small but consistent sales every month, and surprisingly this month it is the third best selling of my books.
      The best of luck on your Q4!

    I appreciate you making these videos. I am a self published author on Kdp since 2019 science fiction fantasy.I just got into the low content journal train this month 2023. I love it. My husband is a graphic designer although we both use a software to make our covers. We enjoy it and do journal ourselves. It’s been 3 weeks since we began and we have published 21 so far. And I publish at least 2 a day. Ofcours Amazon’s review process takes time away from publishing we hope to make this a nice side income huddle. We encourage everyone to journal i journal to help with stress and manifest my goals and visions. So I pray everyone is successful with their goals as well. Thank you again.

      Hi Mary Ann. I truly value you taking the time to write comments on my videos. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Feel free to let me know if you have any special video requests, or if there is any area in self-publishing I can help you with. I am far from being an expert but I've been watching and reading a lot on self-publishing and I've gone through a fair share of trial and error so... I'd be happy to give you a hand in what I can :).

    I appreciate your sharing, I am transitioning to self-publishing. I did a notebook just for "practice" that I would want to have, that way I knew I liked it and it would give me a feel for the process as the other projects I have are medium content and high content. The learning curve is higher on some for me. good luck with your children's book- Thank you

    Please editing the plr book to be accepted on Amazon is my big deal, how do I edit ebook that can be accepted without block due to plagiarism.

    • @bookswithmariel
      @bookswithmariel  Год назад

      I don't have experience publishing ebooks or plr books. But my advice is to send an email to KDP with your inquiry. Ask what their guidelines are in publishing plr books. Then, make your book within the guidelines they tell you. And save KDP's email response for your future support/protection/defense against any copyright, plagiarism claims.

    I'm terrible at this and depressed from trying. It's been a year, already, I think. However, I have ADHD and can't manage to put in the work to make low content book of any quality. It stinks to be defective and to not have artistic abilities.

      I'm sorry to hear that your experience on KDP has been hard. I haven't been self publishing as long as you have, but it hasn't been easy. It's a slow-growing business and it requires investing a lot of time and effort. In my case, what keeps me going is my love for books and the challenge of asking myself 'how can I make this book a pleasant surprise for whoever buys it or gets it as a gift?'. I know I sound like a hopeless romantic... But it's a sort of win-win mindset that's kept me motivated: give book buyers a little more than they expect, even though this means I'm spending more time into making my books.
      Like you, I'm not a designer and to make my books I mainly use: Canva and PowerPoint.
      Things that have helped me that might (hopefully) be some help for you: don't watch "hot niche/trending niche" videos on RUclips; visit a bookstore, a library or a stationery shop and spend an afternoon browsing things that you would buy for yourself and imagine how you would use it/ and why you would/wouldn't buy it; get on Canva or PowerPoint to simple explore what tools you haven't used and try it out freely and for fun- you might be surprised with how creative you can be. :)

      Hi Goldy! Thank you for sharing your experience. One of the perks of gaining self publishing experience by publishing low content books with notebooks is that because they are easier to make, there is more competition, which makes it trickier to find good keywords. So in my opinion, the most value you get from publishing your notebook is practicing niche research (niching down/keyword research). Thanks and good luck in moving on to medium/higher content books!
