How to Tile a Floor with Large Format Tiles

When floor tiling, British Standards recommend that all tiles are solid bed fixed into the substrate. This means that the tiles are fixed into a solid bed of adhesive which adheres to more than 90% of the back of the tile.
Spot fixing - where tiles are placed into blobs of adhesive - is not recommended as this creates voids underneath the tiles and the potential for failures.
Using a product like ARDEX X 325 PTB ensures solid-bed fixing every time, without the need for back-buttering on flat surfaces.
X 325 PTB is specifically designed to be used from 3 to 25mm to level uneven floors and fix tiles in a single application, all while achieving solid-bed fixing when trowelled with a thick-bed, solid-bed trowel.
