i found it very useful especially your illustration on the real engine. I like animation videos but sometimes i cannot identify many engine part when i see on real engine, so i like to air starting valve on the real engine head.Thank you for your effort.
Thank you for your comment. Please do check this infographic which can come handy ---encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcQDYeLCLfvMOVwtUIuNuhNhZhmV8ZOnedmDSPL8TUva_6ivHzA8
Would like to add a correction: On a Wartsilla engine, pilot valve(5/2 valve) uses same 30bar pressure coming off the main air supply header, not 7bar.
Cant say underrated but this is truly helpful not just fir marine engineers but all engineers out there, hope you'll keep on feeding us with more knowledge about machineries. Would definitely recommend this to all who are and will pursue a career related to marine engineering. They also have website for referrences
Initially in sulzer engine, it is shown that from control valve air is being supplied on both the sides of piston and valve is in shut position but later to shut the valve upper face air is being vented . I just want to know how the initial state is achieved after this that is air in both sides of piston?
The Piston rod is connected to and carries the piston. In 2 stroke engine (which are usually long-stroke engines) the piston rod is connected to crosshead which connects the crankshaft through the connecting rod. All of them one by one in sequence of firing order,as in head direction, only firing order changed in distributer, few degree overlap might be there in some engine to help to start if any one starting valve malfuction
I think on top of the valve the air pressuring the spring is 7bar and thats why there is a difference of the diameter of the pistons inside the air starting valve..am i right?
What - It is an air blow inside the cylinders Why- To check if there is any water or oil accumulation due to leakage. How- Staring air is supplied to the engine keeping the telegraph in start position without supplying fuel.
@@marineinsight ..If blow through is done to check fuel or water leakage then why do we use turning gear for checking the leakage of oil or water in the cylinder prior to starting the engine?
@@souravchetia692 Because while blow through it is also confirmed that starting air valve is leaking or not . If turning gear is used to turn the engine thn amps will increase if any water content is present inside .

Hey how is involved in shipping industry a buty like you ? I am very curious
please make a vedio an oily water separator.

Thanks. Before the valve open where goes the air from the air manifold?
You have told distributor pilot valve press is 7bar. pls Explain me from where it's come as 7bar.

Much appreciated!
please define main air valve
Automatic blocking of air starting valve
??
G8 explanation👍
Glad you liked it. Please do share and support 👍
excellent 👍 greetings from IRAN
Thank you 👍
May I know the directional control valve pressure how much is?
Please same video of boiler easing gear working n maintaince along safety valve actual dramatic working
Well Noted Kshitij. You can also check our ebooks on Marine boiler - learn.marineinsight.com/eBooks/e-marine-boiler-series/
Thanks for your explain
I wonder if the starting pressure drop to 8 bar.such low pressure still strart can the engine or not?

What is a crosshead and piston rod?🤔

Please answer my query!!🙄🤗
Just answered it above 👍🏻
How many cylinder must be moved from air to start the engine and when they are make reverse
All of them one by one in sequence of firing order,as in head direction, only firing order changed in distributer,
few degree overlap might be there in some engine to help to start if any one starting valve malfuction
Hey Guys, Please find the Link to Previous Video on Why Main Engine is not starting on Air

very helpful explanation.

Yes. 👍🏻
please explain about air/fuel interlock in main engine
Thank you for the suggestion
Air start shut off when fuel lever advanced from start position, by pilot air valve supplying air start distributior.
0:31 What is the pipe which is going from top to bottom in each cylinder used for(the letter 'r' in pressure is on that pipe I am asking for)?
Hey Dan, That's Hydraulic oil supply pipe for Exhaust valve. For more details, please watch this video - ruclips.net/video/jdmJGF7XXJ8/видео.html
What, Why and how blow through is done before starting the engine??🤔
What - It is an air blow inside the cylinders
Why- To check if there is any water or oil accumulation due to leakage.
How- Staring air is supplied to the engine keeping the telegraph in start position without supplying fuel.

Very Nice
Thanks for your excellent explain.
Glad you liked it
Bro , still I confused , at which stroke of the engine the air is supplied and how it came out from the engine at which stroke
I believe at top dead center
What is the use of control air from air bottle? Is it for closing the exhaust valve?
awesome channel. learnt a lot. Could you make a video on electrical system on ship.
thanks;
like,comment and share guys
Hi Nikhil. Thank you so much for your support. We have forwarded your suggestion to the team. 👍🏻
@@marineinsight sir i would like to know what is gagging of an air starting valve whilst the valve is found leaking
