*Liked the way the bait stayed on hook **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s used them for rainbow trout at Alto Lake, NM. Three of us were fishing and caught our limit of 5 trout every day in less than an hour. Great stuff.*

    Hi NWanglerz
Thank you very much for the informative video as I just finished cooking up my first batch, and noticed that the water level of my pot increased during the process. I cooked three batches with the same water I'm hoping that won't be a problem.
I've always wanted to try my luck at Steelhead fishing knowing that eggs worked best at least when allowed.
    Thank you

nice video! do you have to use that borax? can't you just cure them like the scandinavian way (graved) 1 part sugar, 1 part salt dry mix. What about skoing the eggs?

i vaccum seal my eggs in a canning jar.put skein eggs or loose eggs in jar leaving inch or two of space, make a tinfoil ash tray inside of jar,wad up loosely a piece of wax paper, light match, throw it in wax paper ,wait till you got a good little fire going, then quickly put lid on screw it down and listen for the ping.now it is vaccum sealed. if it dont ping within a minute .start fire again and seal.will last over 1 year in fridge.maybe more.i dont like freezing eggs.good luck

Do you have to use such big pieces to fish with. Seems to me you could use 1/2 as much on each hook? New to this. I do see in other videos that every one uses big globs off those little hoods. What kind and size do you use.

You cut them in half . Depending on how hungry the fish is. I would use these big chunks only for king salmon. If it's steelhead , I cut those chunks in 2 to 3 parts

Anything from a piece the size of your thumbnail for low clear water to golfball sized gobs in high muddy water. Far as hooks get octopus hooks in sz 6 on up to 4/0

I hate to say this but the eggs that you have are the eggs that I make fun of at the river cause they don’t milk and don’t look good.

easiest way is just open them up dump straight borax on em in a ziplock and fish em the next day.
